Kofi and the Libs

Kofi Anan’s suggestion that the United States begin, immediately, bi-lateral talks with North Korea is not only ridiculous it is also a clear indicator about liberal thinking in a crisis. The Europeans have been talking to Iran for a few years now, how has that worked out? Anan’s advice is to give in to nuclear extortion from a criminal regime. How can the UN be taken seriously when considering such behavior?

Genocide is permitted to go forward in Darfur, as it was in Rwanda, Iran and North Korea snub the UN and basically threaten to blow up the school yard if their bullying tactics are not endorsed. Democrat Party spokespeople seem to agree with Anan and would cave in to these dangerous countries. The best tactic is to cut them off completely, in which case Europe would suffer some short term economic pain, thus forestalling any long term nuclear pain.

Military force in the form of a direct attack is not necessary as the restrictions placed on the ruled will be so tight that rebellion will be in the air. Such rebellions must be supported spiritually and financially by the Westerners whose safety and interests are currently at risk. Russia is no friend to the West so sanctions against them must also be considered. China is another problem altogether as it is now one of the most successful capitalist economies in the world. Of course their government is a blend of communism and fascism it would create a great deal of economic hardship in the US if sanctions were applied to China. The United States should be willing to share such hardships if the Euros are being asked to do so.

When the alternative of nuclear destruction is consideration perhaps a recession might be a good thing.

Wanted Perspective

Some countries, like some people, lack a sense of perspective. Of course whether Iran, North Korea, or any other country lead by nut cases develops nuclear weapons is not as important as getting rid of your surplus population in a humane way. That is what is driving Mexico to the UN Security Council requesting action against a proposed fence on the US – Mexico Border.

Of course this could be just another Karl Rove ploy to damage the Democrat Party’s chance in November, similar to his persuading Kim Jung IL to test a nuclear weapon. Perhaps it is a real effort on the part of the Mexican Government to keep its Aztec descendants moving north. There is a definite class distinction, common in most if not all Hispanic countries, between those of direct Spanish descent and those of mixed or pure Indian blood. Guess which class is economically better off. Should the Democrat Party win in November to the extent that they recover both Houses of Congress what are the chances of such a fence being built? Probably no chance at all, especially if the UN and France in particular weigh in against it.

The Democrats are out for revenge, not against terrorists but against George Bush. It is amazing what staying power their hatred has, Bush will be gone in 2008 and there is a good chance the Democrats will be tossed out too. Believe it or not there are some problems in the world that are more important than Bush bashing. Nancy Pelosi has crowed that “…they said we couldn’t beat something with nothing but were doing it.,” when referring to the pending Democrat victory in November. Only in America could such a thing be true and it looks like it might be.

How can the problems of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea, et al be addressed with nothing? A little perspective would go a long way in the case of power regained. Unfortunately the Democrat Party is so childish in its make-up and attitude that when the clowns take the stage it will be time for crying not laughing.

What Time Is It

The pundits, right and left, know exactly what to do it’s only politicians who are dithering about North Korea. This is actually the first shot in the struggle for world influence between China and the United States. The problem for the US is that its political class is only interested in preserving its privileges and wholly opposed to leading the nation towards any positive goal.

The problem with President Bush is that he is not a functioning member of the political class; he is under the impression that a president is presumed to be a leader. Mr. Bush is trying to lead but without able lieutenants leading is very difficult. Bill Frist is actually weaker than Trent Lott something many will find hard to swallow. Denny Hastert is a man without a brain; no wonder he was a school teacher and a wrestling coach. Which subjects did he teach? American history and biology used to be the province of athletic coaches in the recent past.

The Democrats are going to get what they wish, long, and lust for: power. Then they will have to lead. But can they? Are Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi leaders or just Sorogates for all the Bush haters?  While they are impeaching George Bush the world stage will continue its performances. Once the impeachment effort fails, narrowly, they will be caught out by some terror attack or other, perhaps one that is a joint effort of Iran, N. Korea, and Venezuela.

By the time the Democrat term is over severe damage will have been done in the name of ultra liberalism. The only good thing about it is that such thinking will be completely discredited to the extent that The New York Times might go out of business.

Nukes Up North

So it’s Nukes up north on the Korean peninsula now. The world doesn’t want to believe rogue regimes when they make it clear what their intentions are. It won’t be long until Iran will join the club, with the help of the new Soviet Union under politburo leader Vlad Putin. The Islamofascists are giving Western Civilization fair warning and they mean it. The destruction of everything not associated with the Wahabbi sect of Sunni Islam is their goal; ignore it and the results will be devastating.

The feel good logic is that all the world’s problems would go away if only the United States would vanish. That the leaders of destructive nations, e.g. Pakistan, Iran, N. Korea, Venezuela, are brash enough to telegraph their next moves speaks to the disdain in which they hold world opinion. They know that their adversaries live in fear and wish the neighborhood bullies would leave them alone. It’s not going to happen.

The tide of terror is based on hatred and is not caused by poverty, lack of education, no jobs, but on a simple fact: faith that paradise awaits any martyr or killer of an infidel.

North Korea is a terrorist state that now has nuclear weapons with no idea of how to behave responsibly. Pakistan helped the Koreans to get started and is still helping them today. The Russians and Chinese are helping both Korea and Iran with results too dire to contemplate. Liberal democracies with their secular tendencies and situational ethics find it difficult if not impossible to comprehend the belief system of their enemies. That is why liberal thought dismisses the idea that the threat of destruction is real, rather the terrorists are simply misunderstood and oppressed. Nothing could be further from the truth.

There’s a better than even chance that the Doomsday Clock will strike midnight sometime this century. When that happens the result will prove that truth is stranger than science fiction.

Democrat Perfidy

Once again the Democrats have seized on a non-issue and the American public is expected to accept their line completely. The Mark Foley “issue” is being used by the media to distract the public’s attention from the real problems being faced. The Iraq war, a distinct part of the war on terror, illegal immigration, social security and Medicare reform is just a few of the things that the politicians should be addressing if they were providing leadership.

The Democrats simply want to get back in the leadership positions in the Congress so they can bully the Republicans. The constant blather that comes from Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and others is very wearing. Now they are engaged in gay bashing, a bit reckless since they claim to be the party of tolerance. There has been no comment from Barney Franks himself once accused of acts similar to those of Mark Foley. Let the investigation proceed apace, and let every legislator provide the logs of their emails to congressional pages all the way back to 1994, then let the results speak for themselves.

The Democrat and liberal panic has resulted in several phony issues including their cause celeb the Valerie Plame affair. It now appears that $34 million of public money spent during that investigation was a complete waste. It is now known for certain that Joe Wilson and his supporters were duping the public. They all knew that Richard Armitage was the leak. The prosecutor, Patrick Kennedy, should be indicted for malfeasance and if convicted sent to prison.

Reid and Pelosi have declined to testify during the Mark Foley investigation; why? These people are purely opportunists who care little or nothing about the people they are supposedly serving. Even this little blog has been attacked by virus laden comments.

Anyone who votes for the Democrats at this stage of their development deserves what they get, but why ruin a good thing for the rest of us?

A State of Denial

Is Bob Woodward exhibiting the effects of old age or is he simply a Democrat Party hack? Last night on the NBC Nightly News Mr. Woodward was asked about why he didn’t publish his most recent book “A State of Denial”, sooner if its contents are so important. His reply was astonishing. He coolly stated that Simon & Schuster and the leadership of the Washington Post wanted him to wait until just before the November election this year. Are liberals finally shedding their skins?

The very title of the new book is contradictory to the so-called media coverage of the Iraq war with most of the stories discussing failure and gloom. How can Woodward and company say that the public is not aware of the difficulty there? Further he goes on to say that the failure is planned in the sense that Rumsfeld thinks the Iraqi’s should take over security themselves. Everyone agrees with that one. To think that one is so powerful an influence in society and over the electorate to think that a single book can change the course of an election is arrogance personified.

This behavior is no surprise in a larger sense, but it is amazing in the casual way it has been admitted. Yesterday President Bush accused Nancy Pelosi of being a cut and run politician not willing to defend the United States. She of course was outraged and responded by saying such comments were beneath the dignity of the President. Was that some kind of joke? There is no doubt that Ms. Pelosi and her comrades might defend the country if they really believed there was a threat, but they don’t believe there is one.

This war on terror has been brewing since the British and French diplomats divided up the Ottoman Empire in the 1920’s. It has had decades to develop and will take decades to defeat. If anyone is in “A State of Denial” it is the Democrat Party and their fellow travelers.

Again

Once again the electorate is being treated to the sight of an imperfect public servant, Mark Foley this time. The hypocrisy is rife of course on must expect that. Further it appears that Mr. Foley might not be a good candidate for dogcatcher. For all you pedophiles reading this it means your perverse behavior is not to be tolerated. This lack of tolerance extends to those members of the Man-Boy Love Association, a hateful use of the language.

Of course Bill Clinton’s behavior demanded forgiveness, understanding, and the destruction of the women who accused him of various sexual outrages. They weren’t minors and were therefore fair game for the Democrat personal destruction committee; among whose members were James Carville and Lanny Davis. It’s an all too familiar scene.

Louisiana Representative William Jefferson, a Democrat of course, had Nancy Pelosi apologizing for his mysterious acquisition of $90,000 stored in his freezer. Ms. Pelosi opined that Jefferson had grown up poor and black and could be forgiven for not being able to resist temptation. Jefferson still has his congressional seat; Foley does not and should not. Another star in the Democrat firmament, Algie Hastings, is a former Federal judge unseated for taking bribes regarding the outcomes of various trials. He is in line for a House Committee chairmanship if the Democrats are successful in November.

Voters are best served by disregarding electioneering histrionics and judging for themselves who might meet the needs of the district in which they vote. Want to win in Iraq, frustrate terrorists, keep the economy going, and then the best option seems to be the Republican Party. Have an interest in raising taxes, being defeated and hounded by terrorists, converting to Islam, speaking Spanish; then probably the Democrats are the logical choice.

Whatever a voter chooses there is a least a choice. Many people in many countries don’t have a choice or even a chance to choose. The electorate must simply act in its own self interest and the outcome will fall one way or the other and the most likely outcome will be the best one.

It might be true that the United States of America is going the way of old Europe and fading from the world stage, certainly China wants to step forth to center. For the moment the only place where rags to riches and riches to rags is truly a democratic principle is here.

Flame Wars

I’ve been having an interesting and rather fun flame war in a newsgroup. It is interesting because the “liberal” correspondents seem to love comparing Nazi Germany of the 1930’s and 40’s with the United States of today. Some will even go to such lengths as to list the 14 indicators of fascism in society. These are laughable as they employ the same logic as do UFO hunters at Roswell, New Mexico.

The Ultra left are very easy to needle, they must live in a perpetual Skinner Box, one little touch, and off they go! I wonder if there are more psychiatrists, either absolutely or per capita, on the East and West coasts of the US as compared to the rest of the nation. There was an interesting article about this on television yesterday. Apparently someone has researched the dreams of various people, separating them into liberal and conservative classes. According to the story liberals have a difficult time sleeping and have many nightmares, while the conservatives sleep soundly and have rather prosaic dreams. The significance of this research is unknown but one can draw one’s own conclusions and probably be just as correct as the researchers.

One problem with flame wars is that the combatants, being anonymous, reveal their lack of vocabulary and self control by the plethora of expletives used to express their feelings. They have no ideas. It turns out that George Bush is a dictator, fraudulently elected, beholding to wacko Christians, foreign and domestic oil companies, Dick Cheney (Halliburton), and is the world’s terror leader.

Some other interesting research that offers hope to the world is a study which purports that liberals in the US are being affected by Darwinian logic. They are not having children and when they do find themselves pregnant they tend to abort the fetus. On the other hand those families who call themselves conservative and opposed to abortion are flourishing. No wonder the Democrats are clamoring for voting rights for illegal immigrants, without the fertility of Hispanics wacko liberalism will be extinct in 40 or so years.

Such an outcome would diminish our society. Much of the humor would be gone; silly bumper stickers would be no more, the airwaves would be absent of male bashing, children would be abundant (that’s a good thing), illegal immigration would stop, smoking, drinking, obesity, would all be choices again. Freedom and liberty would reign with responsibility binding a civil society together.

Now It's Darfur

Darfur is a disaster of proportions that won’t be known for many years. Messrs. Clooney and Cheadle have a solution, or at least a plan and that demonstrates the confusion of liberals. Sudan’s president, an Islamofascist, has made it clear that no UN force will be allowed in the Darfur region of Sudan, in fact they will be attacked by Sudanese forces to prevent their entry.

In the United States television ads are being run, paid for by Clooney and Cheadle, urging citizens to lobby President Bush to insist on a strong UN force to save the people of Darfur from complete destruction. There seems to be a disconnect here. It’s not that the Darfur project isn’t worthy of the attempt, but the contradiction of Clooney’s position on the Afghanistan and Iraq combats involving the United States and others. As demonstrated in his movie Syriana Clooney clearly believes that such actions were driven by the need to preserve President Bush and his oil buddies. Mr. Clooney disregards that the same people and mentality at work in Darfur is also at work in Iraq.

The liberal thought that Iraqi democracy is not the business of the United States, Michael Moore for example, is contradicted by the idea of the US armed forces attacking Darfur under the cover of the UN. How far from being a US interest is the Darfur problem? Is it just another example of the “feel good” foreign policy that will be in effect once a deluded public bring the Democrat Party to power?

The UN should intervene in Darfur, even if it irritates Chavez and Ahmadinejad, on the basis of its humanitarian role in the world. The same diplomats who childishly applauded Chavez’ juvenile antics are representatives of regimes that murder their own citizens. Kofi Annan’s leadership or lack thereof has provided the springboard for such behavior. A United Nations effort is needed to attack and destroy the thugs who murder under the guise of Islam, but it won’t happen. Such an effort was not mounted in Rwanda, despite Bill Clinton’s “best efforts” he did feel their pain, and it won’t happen now.

Feel good liberalism is merely a cover for not taking responsibility. The latest example is last night’s passage of the Detainee Treatment Law. This is the most ridiculous action ever in the course of protecting oneself from attack. Yet, Harry Reid and cronies, the Democrats have said that the law will be declared unconstitutional because it deprives prisoners of war or their constitutional protections. The media reports and supports these statements with a straight face. A prisoner of war has no rights beyond those of the Geneva Convention. A prisoner of war may be detained until war’s end without any conversation about anything. Torture is always wrong; it’s inhumane and often ineffective, misleading, and self-defeating. Interrogation is not torture.

In the two examples discussed above a conclusion may be drawn about a Democrat defense of the United States. With people like Dennis Kucinich, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Rangel, Harry Reid and the rest the citizens of the United States can expect two things: severe attacks on US personnel during the next 40 days, and homeland attacks by emboldened Islamofascists encouraged by the Democrat withdrawal from Iraq.

World Weariness

I’m not sure about the rest of the world but in America the nut jobs are out in force. From Vernon Robinson, a candidate for the House of Representatives and a good old fashioned demagogue, to the latest UFO proponent shifting to a mega conspiracy theory about the world trade center, the argument could be made for reinstating publicly sponsored mental health facilities. Mr. Robinson has a good chance of unseating the incumbent, Brad Miller, and maybe he will make a good representative. His platform of anti-illegal aliens will garner many votes as should be the case. His ads are inflammatory in the great tradition of American politics.

Controlled implosion is the latest theory on the UFO left. Of course these wackos forget how difficult it is to rig the most rudimentary buildings for implosion and how dangerous it is to the workers doing the rigging. Yet they would have us believe that mysterious government agents went to the World Trade Center, during the work week I guess, and rigged explosives without being noticed and without incident. Let’s consider this view. The process of implosion has been shown and discussed on television innumerable times and will no doubt continue to be demonstrated. These old structures are inevitably gutted, no wiring, no furniture, the ground cleared for hundreds of feet around the implosion site. The explosive rigging takes about a month and is done carefully. Given these conditions how was the rigging of the World Trade Center done?

In out town a large office building was imploded recently, and it was quite a sight to see. One person among the crowds watching was injured by flying glass. Apart from that the demolition went off without a hitch, and it looked nothing like the World Trade Center collapse. There was a series of loud bangs, the detonations of the explosive, and then a rapid collapse inward of the structure; it did not fall straight down.

The resiliency of the citizens of the United States is remarkable considering what we have been through the last five years. The Democrat Party is struggling, as a friend of mine predicted, the occupation of Iraq is dragging on interminably, Cindy Sheehan is moving in next door to George in Texas, pedophiles and child murderers are given slaps on the wrists, abortions among liberals are making them an endangered species and damaging social security, Afghanistan is heating up, and Richard Branson has yielded to peer pressure and donated three billion dollars for Global Warming research. Apparently he wants to keep up with the Buffets and the Gates’. When asked about his reasons he stated that while he had been skeptical he was now 99% convinced of the danger of Global Warming. When asked about the non-starter of a hurricane season he responded that the lack of hurricanes this year was due to the cooling effects on the Atlantic this year of the wind.

My friends it’s your turn; take it!

O'Conner Strikes Back

Sandra Day O’Conner proved her lack of reasonableness and inability to remember decisions made by the court during her tenure. In an editorial in today’s Wall Street Journal O’Conner tries to argue that the judiciary in the United States in unfairly criticized as activist legislating from the bench. Her argument is weak, though somewhat interesting in what it reveals.

O’Conner states that the Courts role is to interpret the law without political influence or bias; has this ever been the case? She goes on to mention that another function of the court is to protect certain classes of the public from the depredations of legislators and that it is generally successful in this effort. While on the court, and over her objections, the Justices interpreted the public good of imminent domain to mean that the interests of real estate developers who might pay higher taxes supersede the interest of poverty level landowners. This does not seem to square with part of her case.

She goes on to decry the security threats to judges and laws making it possible to prosecute judges for various misdemeanors. It is of course deplorable that anyone should be subjected to threats to their person and feels forced to install security systems and personnel. Unfortunately this is the state of the world with extremists on both sides going way over the top in their reactions.

O’Conner would have served the reading public better had she been honest about her views. She, and no doubt every public official, has an exaggerated idea of her worth in society as juxtaposed to “everyday” citizens. The beauty of the United States is that no such status is permitted simply because one has accepted the call of the citizenry to service. This is a civic obligation and a privilege that most are not called to. For her to imply that judges are not influenced by their own feelings is ludicrous. They, as we all do, have the need to impress their friends, frustrate their enemies, and feel good about themselves; a task that might be impossible in a truly impartial judge.

The most egregious statement is the bemoaning of the proposed legislation to prevent judges from using foreign law in interpreting the US Constitution. This is an amazing proposition as United States citizens have no desire to be ruled by the EU, the UN or any other alphabet judicial system.

Please read her comments when you can and see what you think.

Confused People

Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover, and Cindy Sheehan are now the most vocal advocates boosting Cesar Chavez. What’s going on here? The Belafonte and Glover connection are the most confusing, no doubt both men suffered racial discrimination during their youth. At that time most of the United States was either de jure or de facto an apartheid state. Blacks were invisible except for lynching or being accused of crimes. If the crime was black on black it was not much of a concern for society. The opportunities for social acceptance and integration were rare. Yet succeed they did and even became figures recognized around the world.

Belafonte had an even more difficult row to hoe than did Glover, so his bitterness may understood a bit better. Glover faced racial prejudice too, but not as gratuitous as Belafonte. Today these men spit on the very country that provided the opportunities for them, despite having to wrestle them forth. These men are symbols of what’s possible in the United States. They would not have accomplished their success under the regimes of Hussein, Chavez, Castro, or any other dictator. Yet they call George Bush a dictator and call for his assassination; if not blatantly certainly by implication.

They bemoan the ultimate demise of affirmative action which of the two only Glover could have been a beneficiary. Thirty years later affirmative action has come to be a tool to affirm the inferiority of blacks by admitting that they can not succeed any other way; they are not capable. Since this is patently untrue why do Glover and Belafonte (and others) insist upon its retention? Is it simply payback, if so when is enough paid back?

As for Cindy Sheehan she is a pathetic tool of the ultra liberals and the Democrat left. She revealed herself clearly during a recent C-Span interview. She simply spews forth the Michael Moore, George Clooney, Martin Sheen, party lines. None of the aforementioned is too bright either for that matter.

Time will tell but recent events are waking the US electorate to the real nature of ultra liberalism which will be represented in Congress by the Democrat Party; as disaster in the making for the American people.

Clintonmania Revealed

I guess Billy did again. In his interview last week that was finally televised in full on Sunday, Clinton revealed his essentially weak character. This weakness manifested itself in his womanizing which all his supporters, male and female, pointedly ignored. In fact his staff and flunkies slandered and attempted to intimidate women who made accusations against Clinton. The clearest example of this is Jennifer Flowers who had a twelve year affair with Clinton which he and Hillary vehemently denied and coined the term “the Bimbo effect.” Later all the tapes and letters came out.

Clinton’s behavior during the interview shows an unstable man seriously concerned about his historical image’ something that will be firmly established many years after his death. Why? One excuse might be obsessive/compulsive disorder, quite the fashion among liberal circles, or some other excuse. A hallmark of a dedicated liberal is a negative one: the absence of personal responsibility. Political and social leaders are called by that name in expectation of providing an example to the rest of society. For many years the wrong message has been sent.

A recent Harvard study demonstrated the high school, or just plain school, drop-outs achieve less in society. Was that supposed to be a big surprise? The conclusion was that these people are “victims of a system that has failed them.” This is a rather strange conclusion though not unusual. The liberal elite is still trying to build a system in which everyone is successful, in some form or other, that requires no effort on the part of the beneficiary. What would happen if the expectations were reversed and the system was considered a neutral component while the participants were the active components?

The liberals are now saying that Bill bravely stood up to the Republican in house propaganda machine known as the Fox News Channel. This is indeed a weak response, it’s some one else’s fault that Bill made himself out to be a silly desperate man. His performance was astounding from another statement he made. Clinton claimed that he ordered the assassination of Bin Laden, even contracted for it. This, I hope, is a lie; otherwise he is admitting to an attempted felony as an act of that kind is prohibited by US law.

Take your pick, Chris Wallace or Bill Clinton.

Ryder Cup Blues

Well, as predicted here a few weeks ago Europe has retained the Ryder Cup. I had expressed reservations about Tom Lehman as Captain and contrary to European opinion said that Ian Woosnam would be a formidable Euro Captain. It’s never pleasant to be correct when you don’t want to be. Still the American team looked defeated before they started.

Frankly, as professional athletes, they are an embarrassment to the game. American pros can’t play as a team, as proved in the singles they can’t play on their own either. While the play is not over as this is being written it seems likely that this will be the worst defeat of either side in the history of the competition. The American team let the Euro press jibes wear them down. Like children they let one miscue ruin their attitudes toward victory. Essentially they quit.

Tiger Woods played miserably, even in winning his singles match, the other two members of the world top three didn’t even show up. It’s possible that Phil Mickelson’s career is just about finished; he apparently became depressed about throwing away the US Open and is still in a funk. The behavior of the two teams couldn’t have been more different: the Euros encouraged each other while the Americans barely spoke to each other.

Tom Lehman was an utter failure as the Team Captain sticking with losing combinations well past anything reasonable. All the motivational speakers, movies, rants, and tirades will never work in a sport where self motivation is the only way to win.

How Crazy Can You Get

I was watching a news talk show yesterday, fair and balanced, and two of the usual kinds of guests were yammering away at each other; one left and one right. Although their views and opinions were quite predictable there were one or two points of interest. The leftist commentator was an American who is employed by the BBC to bash George Bush. When asked about Hugo Chavez he lit up and jumped in. Here are a few of the highlights.

Hugo Chavez is a master politician who overshadows George Bush in ability, and to top it off Chavez was legally elected while George Bush was not. Of course there was no mention of Chavez imprisoning anyone who criticizes him. Further Hugo is a humanitarian sending relief to Katrina victims while George Bush played golf. I wish he would have followed up on the relief effort but as it simply grandstanding I guess he couldn’t. Chavez is a man of peace while Bush is a man of war, notwithstanding the fact that Islamofascists attacked the USA and not Venezuela. Ahmadinejad is a scholarly leader unlike the stupid George Bush. Chavez provided heating oil to Massachusetts and New York’s Harlem; why didn’t George Bush do that? Of course when you nationalize an industry it is easy to send is its assets anywhere you want to. George Bush doesn’t control the distribution of oil or anything else.

The right wing commentator attempted to rebut these ideas and then realized his opponent was making his case for him. So he simply said “ These are the views of the Democrat Party, please keep going” Of course the BBC speaker attempted to deny that idea , to no avail.

I have said this many times watch out for those who will make you dependent on them. You will dance to their tune. In the paradises of Venezuela and Iran more people are poverty stricken with no opportunity to change their situation than in the United States. Why is this so in a society of equality?

The Democrat leadership is trying to back away from Chavez, including Jesse Jackson, because they realize he gave away too much in his speech. When you witness Danny Glover, a white man hater if there ever was one, embrace Hugo you know what’s up. Danny knows what the United States was like, he is old enough and so am I. No doubt he suffered psychically  , if not physically during the 1950’s and 1960,s but look at him now. He did overcome, he should be proud instead of hateful. He, Belafonte, and others could not have risen to the heights they have reached in any other country; certainly not Europe.

I say let them all have their say and let’s decide in November how we want our society to continue.

What They Don't Know Could Hurt Them

What Ahmadinejad and Chavez do not understand explains their behavior. These two “leaders” are unfamiliar with how representative democracy works. Under their regimes they can stay in power as long as the Mullahs, in the case of Iran, or the army, in the case of Venezuela, agree that they are functioning as expected. Dissent in Iran and Venezuela is greeted not with courtesy and consideration of the ideas but with a prison sentence absent a trial. Media outlets are closed unless they hew to the strict party line.

Is this what the left wants for the United States? Are they so frustrated that a coup of some kind is possible? Well, there won’t be a coup because citizens of the USA are too independent to stomach such a thing, but it is a fantasy cultivated by the left. They consider themselves so smart and sophisticated that only they are fit to rule. Somehow this smacks of pseudo-monarchism.  The glitterati of Hollywood think that money and notoriety must be equated with personal value; of which they would have little otherwise.

Ahmadinejad and Chavez lament the reign of President Bush but don’t seem to realize he will be gone in two years by rule of law. They will be around through many US presidents unless something untoward happens. Their speeches revealed what should have been obvious: they are completely without scruple and will use whatever trappings are necessary to manipulate the public to their ends.

What are the real goals of these two presidents for their nations? They speak of freedom and economic justice, but do they exist in Iran and Venezuela? The tired old saw of the Jews are responsible for everything is lame but is trotted out to cover the failings of an elite that is out for itself.  This is true in Hollywood where Jews are very prominent Jew bashing is a favorite sport. The Jews in Hollywood are a microcosm of the ultra left: they are afraid to rock the boat, are fearful, and therefore don’t really like themselves very much. This self-hatred is reflected in their silence. Oh they went after Mel Gibson but this was really about their anger towards him over the Passion of the Christ in which he earned hundreds of millions of dollars and they did not.

What are the real goals of the United States? Believe or not Americans prefer not to be involved in foreign adventures and only do so in the belief that it is always better to fight somewhere else. Once attacked the United States is a fearsome enemy even though at the moment it appears to be a bit of a paper tiger. The full wrath of the US has not and hopefully will not be unleashed.

The thing the liberals are hoping for, another terror attack might backfire on them. The national rage might be such that all stops will be pulled out and their will be no quitting until absolute victory is achieved. That will be difficult, painful, and costly.

The Devil and Hugo Chavez

The Devil spoke at the UN yesterday which must have come as a surprise to the American Left. A surprise because most, if not all, of the political left don’t believe in the Devil or God; this has been made abundantly clear by one of their main spokespersons Bill Maher. What a shock it must have been when the spiritual leader of the American Left, Hugo Chavez, used his experience to detect the Devil’s presence.

Perhaps we don’t know all we could about Hugo, maybe he apprenticed at Ghost Busters; he was able to detect the smell of sulfur at the UN something apparently the smoke detectors failed to find. Hugo, that defender of Venezuelan democracy and human rights went on a Mussolini-like rant denouncing the United States. This is a good thing for conservatism in the USA and the left will rejoice in their naiveté thinking that because UN delegates responded with a standing ovation so will the American citizenry.

When Hugo called for the destruction of the United States by the end of this century he was displaying the hallmarks of statesmanship for which he is best known. Cindy must have been having another nocturnal event when she heard it. Michael is now planning his next documentary “Barbara’s Baby” loosely based on a 1960’s film with a similar name.

The uber left is now preparing for the occupation of the former United States by Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran. They just can’t wait. Finally they will be able to follow the humane example of these nations: close media outlets that criticize them, imprison writers they don’t like, impose behavioral patterns on the unwilling, mandatory gymnasium memberships, national body mass standards which are violated at one’s peril.

Oh Happy Day!! Michael Moore as Minister of Culture (he might have some body mass adjustment to perform); Cindy Sheehan as Minister of the Peace Department; Teddy Kennedy as Attorney General; with others yet unnamed. Of course the top spots will be reserved for the God fearing Muslims who did not have to be convinced by the sword. There might be some friction with Hugo and Ahmineajad, the one being a “Christian” and the other a Muslim, but perhaps the Pope can bring them together.

The United States government should exercise the power of eminent domain to condemn the UN building in New York, buy it for fair market value, raze it, and build some kind of housing area for the poor. At the very least the United States should reduce its annual contribution of UN funding by half to start, further reductions as time goes on. It is a certainty that UN delegates would much prefer to be in the land of God than in the land of the Devil. Teheran, Damascus, Beirut, Caracas, Havana all come to mind as Gardens of Eden where diplomacy can be conducted in a leisurely manner. All bribery and theft can pass unnoticed in such places; of course good restaurants and alcohol might be in short supply. Those are small enough inconveniences to bear when doing the world’s work.

Isolationism Forced on US

More than an ocean separates us. The us is the USA and our European roots. Citizens of the United States are viewed by many of their European cousins as losers. It is a common attitude among Europeans that Americans of European descent are the descendants of those who could not succeed or survive in the societies which they left. It’s not so much the escape from religious and political persecution but more the fact that economically they were failures.

This world view complicates the current situation with Iran and the Iranian leadership (rulers) is skillfully exploiting European fears. The socialistic nature of European economies makes them vulnerable to any suggestion of hard choices which might have negative consequences. With unemployment rates at 10% or higher there is little incentive for these nations to make it worse by endorsing economic sanctions against Iran for the mere reason of preventing another nuclear nation.

Centuries of war, famine, rapacious monarchies, and finally two world wars have exhausted the European spirit. As a whole they feel that it is better to be “Red than Dead.” Of course that old saw refers to Soviet domination but its essence still works.

The Bush Administration has a problem if they think sanctions are going to be put in place anytime soon. First there is the credibility problem with regard to Iraq. This despite the fact that every major intelligence agency in every nation was convinced that WMD existed in Iraq; they are probably in Syria and perhaps Iran at the moment. Second the level of trade between Europe and Iran dwarfs any such activity with between the US and Iran. The Europeans have too much to lose. Couple this with their growing Muslim population and the resulting de facto isolation of the United States. This will complicate US domestic politics in the future.

The Democrat Party will feel the pinch when they return to control of the government. They will seek a rapprochement with Europe and Islam by acquiescing to most demands and will then lose the power they have lusted after for the last few years. Accommodation is impossible as long Islam promises only paradise in the future. The desire of the liberal –ultra liberal types to be integrated into the “sophisticated Euro society” will never happen as acceptance has always been an illusion.

Being rescued twice by the United States has made European feel a bit inadequate and angry. They strike back through false superiority and getting a perverse pleasure from thwarting US aims even when the danger to themselves is obvious.

Violent Islam How Can This Be

American Muslim reaction to the Pope’s speech and the violence that followed has been amusing. I recommend today’s Wall Street Journal commentary by Bret Stephens for an interesting exposition of the ideas expressed by Benedict. In the USA Muslim leaders have distanced themselves from the violent reaction to the published account of the speech, but have still insisted that the remarks were “unfortunate.”

These actions will no doubt be interpreted by liberals as an example of the moderate nature of American Muslims. Islam is a faith that has no borders or nationality. Muslims in the United States subscribe to the same set of beliefs as any other Muslim. They all believe in jihad, fatwa’s, Sharia law, death to infidels and apostates, and that there can be no criticism of Islam or its leaders. This closed ended approach means that no cultural progress can be made. American Muslims are merely playing possum, waiting for the promised time when Islam will reign supreme throughout the world.

Islam, as a word, means peace in the Arabic language and dialects. Still one would be wise to observe the actions rather than the words of believers. Islamic demagogues have seized on the Pope’s speech to fuel the fires of hatred and fear. The West would do well to remember that in Islam this life is of no importance only the promise of Paradise, with its accompanying treats, counts. A martyr’s death is the ultimate prize.

India and China already know what to expect from Islam and are two of the main impediments to the Islamofascists goals. Why don’t the terror groups strike China? The reason is quite simple: in China if you cause problems you are executed forthwith. That will be the fate of any Islamic terror attempt. Indian Hindus and Muslims are constantly at each other’s throats with massacres a regular affair. Only in Europe, Canada, and the United States do we hope against hope that the liberal interpretation of life will prevail.

Carolina Panthers Maybe Next Year

Super Bowl bound? Not likely for the Carolina Panthers; they will be lucky to win six games this year. It’s time for Jake Delhomme to retire he just hasn’t got it anymore. For the past two weeks he has looked more like a bad high school quarterback than a leader and NFL quarterback.

The TV announcers were making excuses for the team, the offensive line hasn’t played together much, they get down on themselves, etc. These men are professional football players not children. They play for pay if they can’t deliver anything more than the last two anemic performances then they should drop out of the league. Carolina fans will desert them and deservedly so.

What kind of coaching leads a player like Chris Gamble to throw the game away? Is he on the take from gamblers? The team is sloppy and poorly coached even though John Fox has a good record and excellent credentials. The only bright spot is the defense and even then only a couple of players really stand out.

This team has lost two games to teams that will not do much all year either; the Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams look good against mediocrity but don’t stand a chance against well coached, motivated, professional football players. The reach for league parity and expansion team has diluted the talent pool to the extent that no one team can dominate for a period of years.

American professional football is a joke. Bring on soccer (world football)

Benedict XVI Correct for a Change

Based on the behavior of Muslims around the world, the pope’s use of a Byzantine Emperor’s assessment of Islam was correct. By quoting a statement by a virtual contemporary of The Prophet Pope Benedict struck a nerve. Today it was announced that a Roman Catholic Nun had been murdered by Muslims in revenge for the statement. The emperor apparently said that by converting non-Muslims by the sword Mohammed had launched a religion that encouraged inhumane behavior, brutal, and inimical to civilized life.

The reaction in the Muslim world is completely predictable. In these pages it has been said time after time that if one is not a Muslims and refuses to become one, then one’s death is not only justified but is compulsory. Muslims must kill any infidel they come across. This applies to “moderate” or “radical” Muslims. There is not a dimes worth of difference between them. Essentially a moderate Muslim is also an infidel. The Quran is very clear on this matter. Convert or Die. A living infidel is an insult to Allah, even though Allah is the creator of all. Actually that attitude is an insult to Allah and by definition any religion that purports to think for God is blasphemous.

Islam developed as a reaction to what Mohammed considered a debauched Arab society. His values were basically middle class, in the vein of American Fundamentalist middle class nut jobs. Religion should be a way of developing the spiritual side of humanity, helping them make peace with the ultimate outcome of life: death. Some religions have dogma that defines it; others opt for belief in striving for the best of humanity. Corruption of religion comes when priests, mullahs, imams, preachers, etc, take charge. Then it becomes a simple case of one group dominating another.

The Roman Catholic Church took a lesson from the organization of the Roman Empire and improved the model. Today’s corporations a generally based on this model as are military and to a lesser degree political parties. The hierarchy demands obeisance from the bottom up. It is human nature to dominate, one reason why communism will never truly work, and when attempts to dominate are resisted the simple way out is usually taken. Kill one’s enemies quickly and thoroughly.

The Roman Catholic Church, and the Protestant Christians later, could have qualified for the same criticism that Benedict offered of Islam. The normal human impulse to live and prosper finally undid organized Christianity in Europe; it will eventually do so in the United States and elsewhere. Islam will meet the same fate and become an artifact.

Prosperity is the downfall of religion that controls. This is the reason that cults strictly control the information available to their slaves. They also control access to money or any other things that might lead the “faithful” astray. Once that Muslim world in general enjoys prosperity and the opportunity for individual fulfillment the power of the Ayatollahs, Imams, and religious police will fade.

Benedict was correct in his use of the quotation but the timing could have been left to another Pope who was analyzing the past.

Kumbya Detainees

Lindsey Graham and John McCain are delusional. Their position on the terror detainees is that if we don’t accord them the privileges specified under the Geneva Convention protocols that we are endangering our own soldiers if and when they are captured. What do they mean? Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, North Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam, any African country are not signatories to this treaty. Graham and McCain are worried that those nations that are signatories might change their attitude towards the treaty terms if we, in violation of the treaty, fail to accord these murderers the status of soldiers.

John McCain was tortured by the North Vietnamese, legitimately according to them as they were not bound by the Geneva Convention protocols. The view that somehow the United States must behave in a manner that is not specified by the treaty on the grounds that we are somehow morally superior is pure fantasy. It is not a vote getter, which is what McCain and Graham are hoping for. Do they think that American or NATO prisoners will be beheaded in a humane manner? Once again this is an American failure to acknowledge reality.

Yesterday’s revelation that an opportunity was lost to eliminate part of the Taliban leadership was justified by an Army spokesperson “…if we were in an all out war demanding unconditional surrender we would bomb first and sort out later.”  According to President Bush we are in a battle for survival. Isn’t that the definition of an “all out war”?  There is no reason to put hot pinchers to the skin of detainees, nor use electrical genital stimulation, or pump water down their throats, but a little sensory deprivation, intimidation, or psychological prodding is justified and should be used.

The so-called atrocities at Abu Ghraib were anything but, and were cynically used by Democrats and others to flog the United States. Ted “High Ground” Kennedy compared the US to Nazi Germany and the US military to the Gestapo; obviously Irish Whiskey has clouded his memory.

The United States is either in a war to the death or it isn’t. The Government should make up its mind and wage war effectively or quit.

Bush and Clinton Separated at Birth

I turned on the news this morning and wondered what all the fuss concerning the Clinton administrations incompetence was about. The report stated that 190 Taliban leaders and members had gathered for a comrade’s funeral. The United States had the chance to kill them all, or at least a large number of them and shied away. George Bush, my erstwhile hero, has failed again to put his money where his mouth is.

This reminds me of the Katrina fiasco; the blind leading the blind. The real problem is political polling which President Bush claims to ignore; this action puts the lie to that statement. War is about killing your enemy and killing as many as possible in as short a time as possible. It’s about killing the fighters, their families, and friends until they quit.

Politicians in the United States are basically a venal and cowardly group. President Bush and his supporters in Congress talk about how hard and long the war on terror will be. Well, it’s going to be a lot longer if we don’t start killing more of the enemy. The so called rules of engagement should be find’em, kill’em, find some more, and repeat.

If this is the Republican method of war fighting I can’t wait for the Democrats to take control. The similarities to Vietnam that have been long been bandied about falsely are now beginning to take shape. During that war actions against the enemy were hostage to domestic political opinion which deteriorated, naturally, as the war dragged on with no decisive end in sight. That the war against terrorism is a different can be argued. No standing armies to defeat, fifth columns at home deterring action, a weakening of the will rekindled only after another attack, these are the factors that ensure defeat. The failure to kill an enemy in plain sight is just plain crazy; I can’t wait to hear what Tony Snow has to say about this.

It seems that Clinton and Bush have more in common than was originally thought. Howard Dean is correct but for the wrong reason. He said that the administration looks ridiculous for the speech that Bush made on September 11; the administration looks ridiculous because its words are empty. Never mind what a person says it’s what they do that counts.

No Memorials Yet Please

All the speeches and memorials today are a bit premature. Those who were killed certainly deserve to be remembered and will be, but the war is not over. The war will not be over for a long time. As long as the battle of civilizations continues the fight will be seen on every shore, city, town, and village. The United States is forced to lead this fight because no one else will. This war is not about economics it is about survival. The latest tape from Al Zawahiri demonstrates this very clearly.

Oh those who would whistle past the graveyard are doing so in hopes that they will be spared when they surrender. It is not to be. Saudi Arabia has banned the possession and sale of dogs and cats; this despite the fact the Prophet had a fondness for cats. These pets were banned, not at the behest of PETA, but by the religious police on the grounds that pet’s ownership is a western perversion. The veneration of cats and dogs is an ancient relationship of man to animal. Cats had an honored place in ancient Egypt.

Zawahiri stated that they gave the West a chance to convert, to enjoy a ten year truce, and that by declining the West has empowered Al-Qaeda and its look a likes to attack, maim, kill, butcher, and anything infidels deserve. This is the reason we can’t all just get along.

By all means honor the dead of this war including those in Bali, Riyadh, Kabul, Kandahar, Madrid, London, and all the other places these wahabbi fanatics have attacked. Their fellow travelers the “moderate Muslims” support and encourage the jihadists financially, emotionally, and morally. They don’t speak out or condemn and would be happy to pick the pieces of a destroyed Western Culture.

There is nothing admirable about a civilization that has not progressed beyond 1400 AD; which is the situation in the Muslims nations. Science doesn’t count if that science is put to destructive use. The one consolation will be Michael Moore explaining why he can’t be a Muslim, though it is doubtful that he will refuse to convert given the alternative. The separation of church and state will be an arcane concept when the Democrats appease the Wahabbi killers. ACLU its members will be killed because Jews won’t be allowed to convert and the non-Jewish members will be considered too dangerous to ever practice faithfully.

Movies and video games, hip-hop, rock, and all the rest banished on pain of death or life in prison. Homosexuals will be executed forthwith as will all the confused transgendered waifs of Western society.

These are the promises of 9/11 and one should ignore them at their own peril. The unhonored heroes are those military personnel killed in action and despised by their fellow liberal Americans. The left cannot wait for the next event worth noting: the 3000th death in Iraq. This will be greeted with joy on the left, in secret of course, and public indignation on the platforms of power in Washington.

It cannot be argued that radical Islam wants to destroy all infidels; that has been their war cry for hundreds of years. The West is mostly infidel, decadent, and despicable to these people one would do well to remember that when listening to the deafening silence of moderate Islam.

Dems Gone Wild

Is the Democratic National Committee so nervous, even the face of victory, that they must resort to censorship? Howard Dean is making the rounds of black broadcasters begging them to get out the vote “In your own interest” because finally seniority is coming to elected black representatives. Of course one them is an impeached Federal judge but that shouldn’t worry Democrats.  Then here comes ABC, one of the Democrat Party stalwart media helpers.  How could this happen … The Road To 9/11?

The howls of pain, even though Bill Clinton claims that no one on his side has even seen it, Billy boy called Eiger the head of Disney to plead for a no-broadcast. Why? Was there any outcry about fairness when Howard Dean was recommending Fahrenheit 911 as the definitive reason to vote Democrat? Then here comes Cindy fantasying about aborting an unborn George W. Bush, are these people really so horrible? It seems that they are and the nation will pay a stiff price for reinstating them.

What are these people afraid of? Are they projecting their own behavior when they think about the Bush administration? Of course they are facile in their claims of international dislike of the United States, but if its true why when they come back to seat of power and ego should that change. They are still Americans aren’t they?

Here’s what’s going to happen the day after the elections if the Democrats get control of the house: George Bush will have impeachment proceedings instituted against him. If the Democrats get control of both houses GWB will most likely be convicted and removed from office. That puts Dick Cheney in charge. Victory? What about the state of the nation? Taxes will be raised, the military will have its budget cut, and the US will run out of Iraq. The Iraq War was won, the peace was lost.

The United States will be seen as weak and vacillating; vulnerable to attack without answer. When terrorists blow up another two or three thousand people the Democrats will send the FBI to investigate and warn the bomber not to do it again or something bad will happen to them. Once they stop laughing another bomb will explode.

A trial for terrorists

A trial for terrorists is a difficult issue clouded by the term Prisoner of War. After a recent Federal Appeals Court decision, politically motivated, struck down the methods planned by the Executive Branch for trying terrorists in military tribunals, the government is trying to get new laws passed the will make this possible. Will there be an end to the war on terror? If so the prisoners must be released at that point. Are they prisoners of war or criminals? If they are the latter then they must be tried and if convicted imprisoned for some period.

The method of trial chosen is that of a military court, with rules of evidence competent with that setting. These trials will most likely but held in secret, but maybe not. The secrecy would prohibit political grandstanding, but would lead to questions about the legitimacy of the convictions. The same end of punishment can be gained by declaring these captives prisoners of war and holding them indefinitely until the war on terror is declared over. That could be a very long time indeed.

There is a problem with this plan in that is reduces the need for the terrorists to cooperate with the US government as a ploy for earlier release. If the information gathered from these individuals has been or is helpful they should be released earlier in compensation. Their release should not be precipitous but calculated to protect their lives and the USA simultaneously. Undoubtedly such captives would be killed by their confreres upon their reentry in the world of IslamoFascism.

The real social and political difficulty in the United States is the desire on the ultra-left to make heroes of those who would kill all non Muslims and those in the middle and right who want to protect the country and do the right thing at the same time. Can this be done? The ultra-left and their intimidated left compadres are in a tight spot. Their heroes: Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Che Gueverra, Ghaddafi, and the rest are in direct opposition to main stream American opinion and view of what is correct.

A good guess is that this question will be resolved to no one’s satisfaction by the Supreme Court in due course.

The Labor Day weekend

The Labor Day weekend raised some interesting issues some of them frustrating to conservatives. The promotional momentum is with the Democrats and they know it. Their behavior is becoming more confident as the polls show that they are ahead in nearly every category. Beware the polls! There might be a con game afoot with the mainstream media leading the way. The constant barrage of bad news must of course wear anyone down, but it is Election Day that will produce the final poll numbers.

In this respect the Republicans are in danger if they cannot motivate their core voters to take seriously the chance of losing control of the House and Senate, despite the fact they have been mostly unwilling to exert such power as they have. The Democrats are so confident that they have begun proposing the end of funding for the military action in Iraq, something that Tim Russert had said would not happen. Speeches are being given listing Republican failures over the last six years, a litany that would not have occurred without the strength of polling data; some of which purports that the majority of Americans trust the Democrats more on national defense. That is an assertion that is worth some skepticism.

The Democrats willingness to use and abuse power when they get it is well known. Should court nominations arise while they control the Senate, rest assured that the nuclear option will be used by them if needed to achieve their ends.

During the Labor Day Celebrations many columnists urged businesses to raise wages, without considering if the business could afford this action. It is simply a feel good action on the part of the writer. Illegal workers demonstrated against arrest for violation of the law. “Don’t arrest the workers” read some signs; a really pathetic attempt to evoke sympathy. Where were the union activists pleading for the admission of illegals? Where were the liberals demanding that low wages be stopped so that union workers could maintain their position in society?

The Republicans have failed to protect the borders of the United States and the results will be obvious in the next few years. Undoubtedly IslamoFascists sleeper cells are here and waiting orders. It may sooner, but most likely the attacks will begin after the Democrats take charge. The enemies of this nation know that the liberals and ultra-liberals feel guilty about their place in the world and will do anything to appease these murderers. The recent suggestion by Al-Zawhiri that all non-Muslims take the time to convert to Islam was not a joke. Michael Moore and his followers don’t take these people seriously so great is their outrage at their own country.

Coming soon to a mall near you will be the self-exploding, naïve, Muslim. Be wary.

Who's Really Stupid

There is a march today in Illinois that has as its objective the immediate naturalization of 12 million illegal immigrants. Once again the Democrats are caught between their ambitions and reality. How can the Democrat party, the party of Labor Unions, support the wage degradation caused by illegal immigrants. It is just one more manifestation of the liberal desire to gain power and impose their will on the nation. Both parties are at fault for not enforcing the laws that are currently enacted.

Republicans have always been portrayed as the friends of exploitative capitalistic business, while the Democrats are the friend of the working class. If these paradigms are true then let’s go after the corrupt Republican business people. Alas this cannot be done because the wealthy liberals got their money from somewhere and most likely exploited labor in the process. Yet their union supporters, actually party adjuncts, are being betrayed. Cheap labor is just that no minimum wage bill is going to help a worker making $20.00 and hour when he can be replaced for $11.00 an hour.

Why is this happening? Simply, the ultra-liberal and liberal elites feel it is their right to rule and tell the rest of the stupid citizens how to live correctly. Of course the answer is more complex in the final analysis but only in the sense of how these elites think they got the right to dictate.

For example Wal-Mart is the biggest target on the Democrat hit list. Is this the case because the company was started in Arkansas by “Crackers” in an area that is generally Republican; with the Clinton aberration of course? What if Wal-Mart hired undocumented workers? Undoubtedly they do, even if inadvertently, would the Dems still be going after them? The answer is yes because this is a sop to Labor. It seems that the white males who run the party have it made and the worker bees such as the blacks, unions, feminazis, et al simply do as they are told. The white male Democrats like Kennedy, Reid, Corzine, and the rest out number any female members in the suites of power. Why doesn’t this obvious contradiction cause problems?

The strength of the Democrat Party is based on class hatred, excluding the wealthy Democrats of course. How can these people buy into the notion that George Bush is stupid when they, the rank and file, put up with such behavior from their leaders?

Voters are shareholders

Voters are shareholders, and as members of a capitalist society should act accordingly. This means that when the management team is not measuring up to its potential then it is time for a change. There are two major political firms in the USA, with many other smaller ones trying to get bigger. While the Republicans and Democrats command the largest market share it might be possible for some others to form partnerships to challenge the dominance of the Big Two.

Why should this be necessary? At this point in the political life of the United States a point of stasis has been reached. There seems to be no way forward and certainly there is no way back. The elected managers of the country are managing their careers instead of managing the business of governing. This presents a grave danger to the ultimate survival of the nation.

The Democrats are very good at suggesting that more sacrifice is needed on the part of the citizenry. They are not so good at sacrificing themselves. When the leading lights of the liberal left include Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, Harry Reid, and company it is obvious that the left is in no position to lead anyone anywhere. Pronouncements won’t make things happen or make them true. The statements emanating from this group are so crazy that one wonders how anyone can take them seriously. Well many people do, just watch the traffic go by and check out the bumper stickers. They are proud of their stupidity.

Republicans have nothing to brag about. When called upon to act they wilt from the heat of a possible mistake. Polls rule the lives of Republican lawmakers, where the real power is, as Bush seems to decline in popularity the party representative’s move to the left. The national media have done a good job of Bush bashing and many people are suffering from Bush news fatigue. In fact George Bush is probably the first honest politician the United States has had in many years. This will be his downfall.

Bush’s earnest desire to lead the nation to successful growth makes him a formidable competitor and the Democrats fear him. Why else would their mantra be simply “Bush is too stupid to lead.” What this means is that he is too honest, and to a degree a bit naïve. He seems to be genuinely compassionate, something liberals spout but fail to deliver. The mid-term elections are near and all shareholders have an obligation to vote and take charge of their lives. Simply allowing the proxies to dominate (not voting allows those who do to rule) will not produce a satisfactory management team.

Democrats In Soon

It seems very likely that the Democrats will regain control of at least one part of congress either the Senate or the House. This means two things: lame duck status for George and probably impeachment proceedings. While bad for the Republicans it might be good for the rest of us. These congressional clowns won’t be able to pass many laws that will be detrimental to the country. If this happens the Republicans have only themselves to blame.

While the Democrats are duplicitous and completely untrustworthy they at least stick to their guns. The Republicans have turned out to be gutless wonders that prefer the perks of governing more than the responsibility of governing. What is really needed is some kind of independent movement that can lead the country in the way George Bush started out doing.

One other benefit of the Democrats in power is that everything will change. When they are in charge all the things that they have been criticizing will still be going on, but since they will be doing it there will be nothing wrong. When another hurricane devastates part of the nation, FEMA will still not respond adequately. Why have we forgotten Hurricane Andrew? The people affected by that storm didn’t get any help for days. Was that because Bill Clinton was a bumbler?

The mainstream media will be able to relax a bit as they will have complete access to their masters in the Party. Talk radio will have a field day which will make it even more interesting. All leaks will become government press releases. Our enemies will rejoice and feel that they can attack with impunity. Iraq will fall into even greater turmoil. It will be amazing, perhaps it will be the end of the Democrat Party.

One can always hope.

Ryder Cup Thoughts

After watching the WGS tournament held at Firestone Country Club last week it’s clear that the US is fielding a rather weak team. Tom Lehman is a poor choice for Captain and he will have difficulty motivating players who, on the regular tour, have a hard time motivating themselves. One redeeming feature is that the European team, while marginally stronger, also has members that play mostly for themselves.

Ian Woosnam will make a very good Captain as he is quite a fighter and a very determined individual. There are excellent players on both sides but the player who is and who should be expected to be far above the rest is Tiger Woods. He has already taken on defacto assistant captain’s role by contacting the younger team members and attempting to bond with them. Tiger might actually end up as the shadow playing captain.

In the last several weeks Tiger has faced competition from members of both sides and has prevailed. Just yesterday he held off Stewart Cink for his fourth straight tour championship. The conditions were good most of the week and Tiger overcame a distinct problem of four straight bogies that would have unhinged a lesser person. At the same time none of the other players could play well enough to eliminate Tiger while he was faltering. Emotionally Tiger is at the top of his game, the question is can he maintain this peak performance at the Ryder Cup?

The course at the K Club is not as difficult as the Firestone course. The disadvantage for the US Team is that the play will be in Ireland. These professionals are used to traveling to be sure, but several members are struggling at home. Phil Mickelson seems to be self-destructing after his US Open meltdown. Stewart Cink couldn’t put Tiger away when he had the chance. None of the other US Ryder Cup players were even in contention.

The European Team members who were in contention faltered badly under the pressure of a Tiger comeback. Luke Donald, who faded badly in the PGA Championship, couldn’t hold on. Paul Casey had a firm grasp on the victory and let it slip away fading to -7 at the end. The Ryder Cup is nothing like a regular tour event and so things might play out differently. The so-called American weakness in the alternate shot format is overrated. Why shouldn’t professional golfers be able to cope with whatever situation is left them?

The tournament will be a good one and the result is far from certain. The victory will be a close run thing whichever side prevails. Don’t be surprised with a tie, which is actually a defeat for the US as the Europeans will retain the Cup.

Delusional Democrats

It’s been suspected for quite awhile now that the leadership of the Democrat Party is at least partially delusional. As the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina approaches they are going even crazier. Harry Reid has made the statement that New Orleans was not hit by a natural disaster but by the incompetence of the Bush Administration. What next? What about the rest of the states hit by the storm? What about those affected by Hurricane Rita?

The wailing and gnashing of teeth by the Democrats wouldn’t be so bad if they would only take responsibility for the actions of their leaders such as Ray Nagin and Governor Blanco. The criticism of the Bush administration’s handling of the aftermath is mostly well deserved, but the horror was made worse by local politicians who were either jockeying for credit (Blanco)afraid that Bush might get some good press, or simply paralyzed in the face of events (Nagin). The media didn’t help by all the false reports of murders, rapes, etc. To this day there have been no retractions or apologies for their behavior.

Next week we will be treated to all kinds of sob stories and heroic tales, but hardly any of the truth will be told. This is the case with almost every big event in this country each of them is twisted by the media partisans of both sides. This makes it very difficult to even guess at what’s going on. Even the pictures of the scene are suspect; we are shown only what will fit in the lens of the reporter’s and crews of the news teams. If there are areas of tranquility they are not news and therefore not mentioned.

It would be easier to respect members of the left if they simply tried to make sense instead making attacks that most reasonable won’t take seriously.

Safer Now

Recently there has been a spate of articles, books, and commentaries about the so-called war on terror. Apparently we are losing and just don’t know it. These commentators miss the point; it is a world wide war on terror. As usual the US media is focused almost exclusively on the United States, Iraq, and Afghanistan it’s no wonder that most Americans knowledge of the rest of the world is pitifully limited. The press mantra is “Are we safer five years later?”

The fact that there have been no successful terror attacks in the USA is indeed remarkable, almost unbelievable. There have been terror attacks elsewhere since the destruction of the World Trade Center Complex; an accomplishment in itself that is probably worth five years of reflection. Americans are a complacent lot worrying only about the banal and being hardly aware of their on country let alone the rest of the globe.

Recent studies have produced results about historical and geographical knowledge that are amazing if true. Something like 60% of high school graduates can’t locate on maps of the world countries they hear about on the news every day. They don’t seem to be hearing the message. Most colleges in the US don’t require a basic grounding in US or World History. These failures make the US an easy target and the rest of the West to the extent they emulate the US education system.

The premise that the intelligence agencies of the US are in turmoil is probably true. Undoubtedly there are turf wars within the agencies as old enemies are displaced and new ones taken on board. Cultural and political differences are preventing the increase of competence needed to infiltrate the enemy’s camp. It is unlikely that the Irish Catholic and Italian “wise-guys” of the FBI that defeated the IRA and the Mafia will be successful against the various jihadists. The CIA and FBI are having a difficult time coming to grips with the need to recruit Arabic Muslims and not just Arabic speaking agents. They must hire infiltrators from the terror breeding grounds in order to successfully defend the civilization.

This course of action presents its own dangers of course, but the risk must be run. It is difficult to defeat an enemy about whom you know almost nothing except his willingness to die to achieve his goal.

It's Already Too Late

If Pat Buchanan and others are correct then closing the borders with Mexico and Canada may be too little too late. Here is the perfect way for the Democrats to defeat George and his fellow Republicans. A sheriff in Arizona has been quoted as saying that artifacts from Iranian operatives have been found along the border, they include military identification cards, uniforms and other things. If this is true then we are missing a vital front in the war on terror.

Unfortunately for the Democrats they cannot take advantage of this blaring weakness in the policies of President Bush. They are hoping to turn the millions of illegal immigrants into another voting bloc similar to the one they have with African Americans. For that reason they don’t dare take on Bush about allowing thousands of potential terrorist infiltrators into the country. The news media too will ignore the story for fear that it will damage the Democrats chances in the next election.

Undoubtedly when Hamas and Hezbollah brag that they can launch suicide bombers at the hint of an attack on Iran they are serious. Their members are most likely already in place waiting for the go-ahead instructions. President Bush has failed us badly in this instance. He has failed for same reason that causes most failures: fear. His primary function is to protect the public from attack, in this case he has failed if not publicly because no attacks have happened. The absence of attacks doesn’t mean they are not being planned or that the enemy is incapable of mounting attacks. We will be attacked within the next four years.

Ahmadinejad is very serious about making shopping malls, train stations, bridges, tunnels, airports unsafe for US citizens. Revenge is one motive, and it is a motive that prevails among Middle Eastern tribal cultures. Domination is another motive. Americans believe they are safe which will lead to complacency and then explosions.

George Bush’s legacy might be the constant attacks over the next few years and his memory will haunt the Republican Party for as long as it continues. This situation will ultimately damage the Democrats too as they will be unable to cope with the problem and will remain paralyzed as their constituents are blown to smithereens.

Steve Centanni

If Steve Centanni and Olaf Wigs show up as dead bodies how will the mainstream media treat the story? Centanni and his photographer were apparently abducted last week in Gaza. As he is a Fox News Channel correspondent one would think that the usual tabloid tactics would be observed. Quite the contrary there has been almost nothing reported about this story; main stream or otherwise. Is there a particular reason for this news blackout?

The answer to that question is unknowable at this point, but there is another point to consider. Fox News Network is regarded by the left as simply a house organ for the Republican and wacko right wing. This judgment is untrue and unfair but can be understood in the context of the left wing’s feeling that they should not be criticized or have unfavorable stories written about them. This feeling of information propriety is something that the left must get used to losing.

It can be imagined that should Centanni’s captors decide to kill him that there will be some joy in certain quarters of the press and populace of the USA. A typical reaction might be “Good Riddance,” or “Fox News deserves it,” or something along those lines. Hatred is rampant on both extremes of the political spectrum, but its virulence seems greater among the Howard Dean crowd. When Howard says he hates Republicans his comments are dismissed as “Well that’s just Howard.” When Anne Coulter says the reverse she is condemned as a dangerous, hateful, person.

Steve Centanni gives the impression of a hardworking, ethical journalist who happens to work for Fox News Network, why should a worker be condemned by the socialists?

Soros Again

For those readers who claim not to know much about George Soros I suggest you think about his latest comments. This multi-billionaire who has donated millions to defeat George Bush, but little to the needy, yesterday compared Dick Cheney to President Ahmadinejad of Iran. It’s sometimes necessary to exaggerate to emphasize a point, but this is more. It is the overblown rhetoric of the left damning the right and middle of US opinion. Ahmadinejad has said that Israel should be annihilated, who has Dick Cheney commended to genocide? Ahmadinejad has constantly lied to the EU about a positive response to their proposals in which they hope to derail Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons. Of course Cheney has been accused of lying about a variety of things, but those accusations have never been substantiated.

Ahmadinejad is a very astute politician which compares favorably with Dick Cheney. Ahmadinejad is the lap-dog of the Ayatollah Khameni; the left thinks that George Bush is the lap-dog of Dick Cheney. Mr. Soros and his followers, or brethren should get their act together if they are to persuade the general public of their trustworthiness. Recent this column received a comment regarding statements that could not be verified. Well, the use of rhetoric is time honored; but it must have some basis in fact. The accusation was leveled that the right is constantly demonizing the left while the poor left wing victims are merely trying to get the truth out.

Joe Lieberman became a national target in a local election when Soros’ minions poured cash and volunteers on the Lamont campaign. Michael Moore has even threatened the Democrat’s darling, Hillary Clinton with the same fate. Now the left is outraged at Joe because he is running as an independent even though the party abandoned him they expect him to bow to their wish. This is hypocrisy at its lowest.

The average American could care less and doesn’t really follow events closely. This makes it possible for a few energetic voters to rule the rest of the polity. George Soros knows this and with persistence may succeed. Thank goodness he is an octogenarian.

No Peace This Time Either

There will never be peace in the Middle East until either Israel is destroyed or the Arabs and Iranians are beaten so badly that they will give up their dream of the annilation of Israel. I know my liberal friends and readers think that the turmoil in the Middle East is the fault of Israel and the United States. They are simply not listening to the Arabic rhetoric. A reader recently chastised my about implying that all Muslims are radical. Of course there are some Muslims that haven’t been radicalized as IslamoFascists, but on the question of Israel one would hard pressed to find any Arab, Iranian, or European who can take an honest look at the question.

Not one Arab nation has offered to re-settle displaced Palestinians; they herd them into “refugee camps” and deny them any way to make a life. This is a deliberate policy that accomplishes the dual goal of keeping the Palestinians at bay and keeping their unrealistic hopes alive. American leftists simply refuse to believe that the goal of all Muslims is to “free” Palestine and wipe out the Jews if possible. This has been clearly expressed by Arab leaders for nearly 60 years. At one time the US left supported Israel whole heartedly, but bleeding hearts are easily manipulated. This is something the President of Iran understands too well. After the 1967 war the left began to drift away from Israel. Why did this happen?

In the late 60’s France under De Gaulle was attempting to one up the US. They expelled all the NATO forces and remained a non combat member. LBJ was reputed to have asked De Gaulle when ordered all US forces out “…even the dead ones?” The left turned LBJ out of office, of course they got Nixon in return but who said they were bright? From that point on, from McGovern to Gore, the left has looked to Europe for leadership, for instruction in the wonders of socialism. France took the Arabs side, even though their own record in Algeria was worse than that of the US in Vietnam. France and Germany had begun developing large Muslim populations due to either guest worker programs (Germany) or colonial passports (France) and to placate them. They began developing an official policy of ignoring reality. This happened despite the fact that Israel was created in large part by Europe to get rid of their Jews.

American “intellectuals” want to be thought of as sophisticated, which is one reason why they love a British accent no matter how yobbish it might be. Sophistication is something one gains over time and is easily recognizable as a hallmark of a truly educated and well rounded person. Many US leftists are quite sophisticated but they don’t have the self confidence to believe it. Any criticism of the US stings them deeply and they attempt to dissociate themselves from the nation. That is the reason they love the UN so much, they are one Worlders. It’s a measure of their true disarray that a large number of ultra leftists protest against globalization.

The current UN “effort” is ridiculous. Resolution 1559 concerning the disarmament of Hezbollah has not been enforced. Kofi Anan is clearly on the side of terrorists and their actions. If this is not so then why not criticize them? The UN is only useful to the US in the sense that one should keep one’s friends close and one’s enemies closer. Today’s cease fire is merely preparation for tomorrow’s war. It will come as it has almost every year for the past 60 years.

Dear K

Dear K
Thanks for the comments, they are very thoughtful and articulate. I also appreciate that you stop by occasionally. The problem with a blog is that the postings must be short or most people won't bother to read them. I do agree with you on certain points. I do not agree that there have been any violations of the Bill of Rights and I think it will be won on appeal. The judge was way out of line in her comments. I am more right than left though I am a registered Democrat. The party is leaving me and my ilk behind (Lieberman). The Muslims I refer too are the radical Muslims who will continue their activities no matter what. If there are moderate Muslims, which there are, let them come forward and condemn the actions of their brothers. They will not because they fear the fatwa that will be leveled against them.

Al Gore would not have struck back at Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, he would have behaved as Bill Clinton did and done nothing. This would prove our weakness and made us more vulnerable. Why we went to Iraq is beyond me. However the wacky left and even you are hyperbolic in your tenacity to tear down what needs to be preserved and built upon. My prediction is that the tactics the left is criticizing will be used by them when they return to power.
Thank you, again, for your kind remarks and interest

John

No War On Terror

There are those who feel that there should be no war mounted against terrorists.  George Soros is one of them.  It seems that on the left there were no problems in the world until George Bush “stole” the 2000 elections.  All the while refusing to discuss the fact that the alleged disenfranchisement took place in Democrat controlled precincts. Soros and MoveOn.Org ignore all the incidents affecting the United States since the 1984 Marine Barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon.  We took no action then and in fact took no real action until after the attack on the World Trade Center, September 11, 2001.

George Bush drew a line in the sand at that time.  Had Al Gore been president we would be much worse off now than we are.  The Iraq war appears to have bogged down into police work at this point and a formal civil war is possible with the help of Syria and Iran.  The theory proposed by Soros and the like is the Kumbaya Theory which is if we love them they will love us.  The United States has never actually attacked an Arab country without provocation.  So how can the liberals think that we have created the problems? Muslims in the US go so far as to claim the World Trade Center bombing was done by Israel and the US government despite the fact that Bin Laden has repeatedly claimed credit and promised more.

It is frustrating to know that when the Democrats regain control of the government things are going to get much worse. The enemies of the United States see any compromise as the result of fear and weakness.  This is obvious from the behavior of Bashar Assad, the president of Syria. He has not made a peep until the US persuaded Israel to accept the UN cease fire, now he seems to consider himself as the new Arab leader.

These are dangerous times for many and various reasons.  The Arab people have nothing to lose because their lives are bound up in a religion that squashes their hopes and dreams and are dominated by governments that offer no opportunity for self realization.  This is something that the liberals either don’t know or won’t accept.  The only thing the west has in common with the Middle East is simple humanity.  Undoubtedly Muslims love their children but fathers are quite willing to murder their daughters if they exhibit behavior considered contrary to the religion.  They are then congratulated by the imams for their actions.

No war on terror?

Why Can't Jamal Read

This is a question that has plagued the US education system for at least 60 years. The reasons are many and various but it comes down mainly to expectations. Many years ago a book called “Why Johnny Can’t Read” caused an uproar and began the inexorable degradation of the public school system. Of course this was not the intention and the real point was missed.

Among the solutions proposed and adopted was to throw money at the problem. This is the American Way. It was thought that teachers didn’t really know how to teach so they were required to get degrees in education (pedagogy is the term today) and pay was increased. All to no avail, things only got worse. Statistics showed that on the whole students in the US were way behind the rest of the world and when minority (African-American) student statistics were taken separately they were the worst.

Initially it was thought that black meant low intelligence, then there was cultural bias, then there was racial prejudice, then again not enough money, inadequate buildings, not enough money for teachers.  What was the problem and what is the problem now?

Somehow the nation got educated during the years of one room school houses, the use of public libraries, but most important the families emphasized education.  This was certainly true of George Washington Carver, W.E. B. Dubois, and many other African-American scientists and scholars who overcame their obvious disadvantages to rise to the top of the culture. The impetus is different today due to the culture of entitlement and absence of responsibility.

The education system in the US today expects poor children to fail and one normally gets the results one expects.  The minority culture has an aspect that encourages failure by the mainstream standards.  Don’t be like whitey is a refrain that is heard over and over again, even among Hispanics.  This dumbing down brought the phenomenon of Ebonics, the theory being that black children are so alienated they can’t learn to  speak English correctly.  That idea demonstrates the capitulation made by “educators.”

The schools are, in the main, directed and managed by people who start out to do good and end up damaging society.  An education is more than good self-esteem, it has end points that must be considered, set out, and met.  Simply wanting everyone to feel good about themselves and their comrades is ludicrous. Poverty is not an excuse for the school administration’s failure.  Families matter and must be part of any child’s successful education.

There are many college graduates that are not fully educated.  They have no social graces, are selfish, inconsiderate, and many cannot really read and write especially to their certified level.  The elites in this country actually want the masses to fail so that the competition for upward mobility, so roundly touted, will be much less and easier to cope with.  There is a very subtle but very strong streak of anti-intellectualism in the United States and this alone is enough to make certain that Jamal won’t ever learn to read.  That is unless his parents insist upon it.

Angry White Men

There has been a trend emerging during the last few years, worthy of comment sooner perhaps, but now that it is firmly established comment on it is now demanded.  This trend is the whitening of the Democrat Party.  It almost seems as if the Democrat Party is reverting to the days when liberalism was actually neo-con.  Take a look at many of the photo-ops, the candidate support record, and the downright racist comments made by the leadership and an ugly picture begins to emerge.

Why are there no African-American or Latino leaders in the party?  Ned Lamont is just the latest in an elitist takeover of the party.  This is supposed to be the picture of the Republican Party.  The Noam Chomskys of the left are so busy kissing up to the Arabs that they have lost sight of their socialist values.  They are being marginalized to the extent that the party is losing its way.  What are the Democrats going to do after 2008 when George Bush is retired?  The ultra-left party hijackers are a single issue crowd: get rid of Bush. This attitude demonstrates how petty, juvenile, and that they lack the capacity to think clearly.  The Constitution of the United States will get George out of office.  What is the plan for the nation after the Democrats cut and run in Iraq?

The enemies of Western Civilization (which most likely includes Michael Moore & Co.) will see this retreat (change of direction) as weakness and push forward all the more.  At this point Harry Belafonte should be re-examining his opinion about the position of Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice as Bush “house slaves.”  From the pictures surrounding the leaders of the Democrat Party it appears that Jesse Jackson, Al Sharp ton, and others are the “house slaves” of Howard Dean, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and the rest.  The Democrats have reduced themselves to demagoguery and are absent of any ideas that have not already be co-opted by George Bush.  They are whistling past the graveyard, and scaring people in the bargain.

One cannot base one’s philosophy of life on bumper stickers but this seems to be the only basis of liberal thought these days.  For example a recent sighting showed that liberals think that if more money was spent on education than defense the world would be a better place.  The education portion of the Federal budget is already considerably greater than that of the defense department.  The results are clear for anyone to see.  The world is not appreciably better.  Another called for regime change in Washington, supposedly a clever twist on the war in Iraq.  In 1998 President Clinton called for and got a resolution from the Democrat controlled Senate demanding regime change in Iraq.  No anger was voiced by George Soros and friends at that time.

Angry White Men Who Own Limousines are the face of the new Democrat Party.  During the 2004 New York race for governor the Democrats refused to support an African-American candidate because he might lose.  The white candidate lost anyway; why not make a positive statement of where their values really lie; perhaps they did.

Who's Best on Terror

Now that Joe Lieberman has been tossed out by the Democrats there is much speculation about the effect this will have on the party’s chances in November.  The guessing is that the Republicans will be perceived as being the party that will best protect the US.  This is probably mostly true but there are cracks in the façade.  The only Republican that is tough on terror is George Bush, a misunderstood man if there ever was one.

Does anyone think Mit Romney will be able to George’s shoes?  Who else is waiting in the Republican wings that can be trusted not to give in to political pressures?  Even George is feeling the heat at last.  The commentators have got it wrong, the Republicans are not tough on terror, they aren’t even tough on Democrats, only George Bush has been tough on terror.

As for the Democrats Lieberman’s defeat and their reaction to his decision to run as an independent tells us all we need to know about the party.  Without exception his “friends” and “colleagues” have bemoaned his decision.  Silly questions are being asked about his behavior; “Is this the way a loyal Democrat behaves?” or “What kind of Democrat is he?”  This after he was all but abandoned by the party, causing Lanny Davis to wake up and conclude that the Dems are not what they used to be.

The left can be assured that if they come back to life that they will every opportunity to placate our enemies.  Of course the rest of us had better keep an eye out for truck bombs and the rest for some time to come.

US Abandons Israel

The United States has abandoned Israel and George Bush has surprisingly succumbed to European public opinion. The ultra left has demonstrated in favor of Hezbollah through the streets of San Francisco. This is a dark day for the USA. The IslamoFascists will see this as weakness, which it is, and plan their behavior accordingly. We may expect more attacks and brutality. Fear is the one emotion that will defeat anyone, particularly uncontrolled fear.

Look out below! The wacko left is begging for its life but their appeal will avail them little if Islam takes over. The first people into the execution chamber will be the transgender population, then the adulterers (Right or Left), alcohol consumers, women dressed incorrectly, etc. Mike Wallace proved this during his interview with the Iranian President Ahmaneijad. Wallace came away with the impression that the President was a reasonable man and that his bark is worse than his bite. Wallace is like many really old people he has lost his nerve and wants to please and not take any chances.

All citizens of the USA should decide that there is a lot at stake beyond out quipping your fellow citizens. Pretending everything will be okay won’t make it so. Israel is our only ally in the Middle East and they are our proxy promoting democracy. It should be obvious to all except those who refuse to see that simply voting doesn’t bring freedom. The Europeans were correct in saying that the Arabs are not ready for democracy their culture simply won’t permit it.

By abandoning Israel the United States has given the Arab states and their terror tools a big confidence boost. These people understand only one thing and that the strong prevail. Showing weakness does not promote peace.
