What happened to Caylee Anthony?

The trial is over, a success for the defense, an the media fed outrage has started. Of course it won't last long but the mob mentality is interesting to observe. Yes, there are certainly more questions than answers, the main one being if not guilty what happened to Caylee.

The prosecution and the police have much to answer. The Anthony family appears to be a degraded one, this is especially true if the child's death was accidental. The simplest solution would have been to call 911 and report it. The situation was allowed to spiral out of control (maybe) and subject the father and brother of Casey Anthony to the most disgusting accusations. Accusations which the defense never offered any evidence nor is it expected to do so. The body or remains thereof were identified within reason. How did they get to the place of discovery? Why was an accidental death distorted by a cover up? Why the charade about searching for the child in hopes of finding her alive?

Without doubt the truth will emerge over the years, perhaps quite soon as Casey cannot be retried for the crime if there was one. There are a few lessons to be learned or relearned. Usually a family murder is committed by a family member. Police investigators are often not capable of a real investigation, particularly if the case becomes complicated. The compulsion by authorities to clear a case put someone, anyone on death row is a force not to be under estimated.

Trial should not be televised or transmitted over the radio. There is too much temptation for the actors to become just that. The emotional bias of broadcast events detracts from a real examination of evidence. There was little enough of that on offer. The public is generally incapable of resisting media manipulation; this much is obvious from the anger about the acquittal. It is also why political life in the US in agonizing.

When the next "Trial of the Century" rolls around, turn off the television.

We're All Socialists Now

It seems that the editors of Time Magazine and their Sorosian supporters are willing to give up our liberty and freedom so that they may enjoy dominating the rest of us. Today, Independence from Britain day, is the one event in our history that should be celebrated and held sacred. Without it no doubt there would have been more than two civil wars.

Liberals have no idea about the meaning of freedom or liberty. Conservatives are not willing to fight for either principle. This brings us to our situation of confusion, self-doubt, and various hate(fear) based behaviors on a national scale. Apparently many citizens will give up freedom for the chance of being protected by the government. These people vote away their freedom of choice. At the moment the United States is a mini-Orwellian culture. Almost everything the government postulates as truth is in fact the opposite. Their is very little evidence of the fourth estate, the media, doing its job. Rather these journalism school graduates are parrots for the rulers.

In the United States the citizens are not ruled they are represented; at least that was the idea. European Progressive Ideas, introduced to the US in the mid-19th century have corrupted the constitutional basis of American freedom. The tremendous influx of middle and southern Europeans during this period provided a malleable voting base for progressives. Slowly the welfare state emerged and with it freedom and liberty made their exit.

Because the constitution is denigrated, not explained to youngsters, and fake socialism embraced by the "leaders", the USA finds itself adrift in a sea of slogans without basis. The government is going to created jobs. This is impossible. Jobs are created by a free people innovating to produce goods and services other free people want and are willing to pay for. This will not happen in the USA again for quite awhile.

Independence Day should be a day of contemplation; unfortunately that requires the ability to think . Thinking is a faculty that has mostly been lost among the emotional response to life problems.

I urge everyone to strive for independence. It is not an easy thing to attain, but is easily lost.

I just heard a news report that the liberal side of America is calling July 4th a Republican propaganda holiday. This idea shows just how far we, as a people, have fallen. It is difficult to get excited about being separated from an oppressive English government as most US citizens are happy with an oppressive US government. A large percentage of Americans can not remember freedom and liberty for all. A big portion of society thinks that human nature can be improved and that the Constitution of the United States is antiquated. How can such people be expected to celebrate the hard won freedom they are discarding at every turn?

The United States is based on the idea that each person has God given rights to Freedom, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. All these concepts have been corrupted by 19th century European anti-monarchism. The founders of the USA were the first serious anti-monarchists and realized that the tendency of those trusted to govern would be a corruption dictated by human nature. So called European thinkers denied this from the mid n 19th century on (if not sooner). They were and are wrong.

The United States is based on freedom from government. That basis appears to be disappearing. Human nature tends to laziness, and oppression. The siren song that government can cure all ills is obviously a delusion embraced by many. It is interesting that most so called activists have never had a job but live by donations from agenda driven wealthy dominators. It is amazing how self righteous these parasites are when spending other people's money.

It is time for a new independence movement which encourages a return to the idea of personal responsibility for one's life and actions. This includes the responsibility to life a moral life: no stealing, no murder, no assault, and an exhibition of courteous behavior. Alas, this seems to be a pipe dream.

Most Americans, and other populations as well, are so poorly educated that they cannot think for themselves. It is a pitiful state of affairs and one that will not get better until it gets much worse.

News junkies are in heaven these days, unfortunately there is little news and a lot of gossip. You folks can expect more of the same. Is it possible to be informed in today's super heated political climate? It is difficult but not impossible. One must carefully peruse news sites, blogs, television, and magazines and then use one's critical thinking capacity to decide what is true and what isn't.

The tough thing about such activities is that most people seem bereft of thinking ability. Much of what is read is simply based on emotions, wishes, and misinformation twice digested. Such is the state of affairs that many people seem to live their lives in a permanent state of rage. Why should this be the case?

Liberals are rabid because they are poorly educated and leave the thinking to their leaders. Conservatives are passionate but passive; they have good manners. It is very likely that any violence perpetrated upon society will be based on liberal tenets and performed by masked liberals pretending to be intellectual firebombers. One only has to look at the videos of any WTO conclave city.
Liberal thinking is adolescent. Anyone watching and listening to Bill Maher, Barack Obama, Charles Schumer, et al must wonder how long it will be before these folks complete their high school life. What passes for humor or thought in this group is worthy of 10th graders.

Take note that anyone that disagrees with a liberal is simply howled down. There can be no exchange of ideas or civil discourse. In fact if one wants to understand liberal thinking and therefore forecast liberal behavior simply listen to what is said and reverse it. Whatever liberals accuse conservatives of planning or doing is actually what liberals are planning or doing.

The famous accusations against Bush, name any, are now being realized under Obama. There is much less liberty in the USA now than ever in its history. It is going to get worse. Liberals feel not think. So what can we expect in the near future?

There will be more attenuation of personal liberty and revocation of rights based on the idea that the government knows best. There will be increased surveillance of dissidents on the basis of public safety. There will be less economic freedom and more economic hardship. The government cannot create real jobs.

Only private enterprise can create jobs that are the result of wealth creation Government jobs are ancillary to real work. The government of the United States has become extortionate in its redistribution of private wealth; the net result in the long term will be national poverty. With less than 60 % of the population paying taxes it is left to the productive portion of the private economy to carry the rest of the people. This can not last. Yet liberals seem to think this is ideal.

Most liberal posters on you tube are clearly functionally literate but seriously undereducated and ill informed. They have no obvious skill at critical thinking and take the pap fed by their leaders as gospel. They use profanity to such an extent that vocabulary is way beyond them. Their childish behavior reflects the impossibility of maturing under today's USA education system. Their weak attempts at logic, humor, even threats of violence bear a stronger relationship to video games than any real thought. Unfortunately many so called conservative posters are in the same boat. It is almost possible to judge a poster's age by the self-expression on offer.

In the times that are coming these people will be whining for the government to feed and clothe them. The will be angry and frightened. No doubt they will be in the streets destroying other people's property. The white ones will be craven when confronted with their worst night mare: angry black folks. Today's market turmoil is nothing to what is coming. It will all be on You Tube until the power goes out forever.

Israel Under Siege

The recent fight between Israel and the rest of the world is disgusting. The government of the United States now seems to be in the hands of closet jihadists. Is it possible? Bill Ayres, his wife Bernadine Dorn, and another Obama ally, Jodie Evans are in Egypt to aid in the destruction of Israel. American Jews are still asleep. They seem to be hoping that if they keep quiet they won't join their ancestors in Death Camps. They are sadly mistaken. By the end of Obama's first term the Israeli-US alliance will be in tatters. The only middle eastern nation with a truly democratic form of government will be probably be destroyed.

The fact that President Obama is a Muslim is not germane. What is pertinent is the changing perspective of what the international interests of the United States are now. Why bother with Afghanistan? It is a loser and drains money from the US economy. The Obama administration is moving quietly away from Israel, which will turn out to be a wrong course. The Arabs and other Muslims have no love for each other and especially not for the USA. What do the domestic terrorists in the administration think they can accomplish?

It is clear from the film of the boarding of the Turkish ships that the Muslims struck first and intended to all along. The Israelis are to be faulted for not being prepared and killing more of the attackers. We must stand up against Islamic terrorists. The United Nations can be completely discounted as usual.

All thinking citizens of the USA must realize that time is short for the continuation of the republic and prepare accordingly.

Today I went shooting with a friend who had not held a firearm for most of a lifetime. The shooting was quite fun, though my friend didn't like the loud reports of the weapons over .22 cal. The day was cool the range fairly deserted, the ambiance relaxing. During the trip up and back we discussed, among other things, current events. My friend does not believe that the USA media is deliberately misleading the public regarding our government and our current financial situation. What do you think?

We live in tumultuous times with no end in sight. Money is losing its value, the destruction of civilization is predicted within two years, the United States is abdicating its place in the world, and Stalinist communism is in the ascendant. The citizens of the country are bewildered and complacent; except for those willing to fight for the old ways. The constitution of the USA is in the balance. The current leadership cares about one thing: ultimate power. The welfare of the nation and its inhabitants is nowhere near conscious thought.

How different are these times from any other apparent decline of civilization? Probably not much with the one exception of instant communication. Anyone can know and prepare for a dismal future. One that requires character, the will to survive, and the ability to do so. Most people, who are able to be informed, are simply hoping for the best. Life is going on hour by hour in the most normal way possible. This despite everything comforting is changing at a pace difficult to comprehend.

The governments of the world are pretending that fiat currency has value and will continue to do so. Most likely this will end in violence and a great deal of destruction: everywhere. Urban areas will be the scene of the worst devastation simply because there is more to destroy. There are warnings now from even the most deceptive media outlets. Is the media finally getting the nerve to abandon Obama? I doubt it they have too much invested. Some media personalities are beginning to doubt their decisions but cannot see a way out. Their pathetic conscience soothing bleatings will never make amends for their treachery.

All this will be academic if the cataclysmic forecasts actually transpire. Everyone should simply hear the warning and act accordingly.

The Democrats have done it again; this might be the final nail in the coffin of what was once a proud nation. The Financial Reform Act, better called Government Theft Allowance, passed with three RINO votes. From now on the stock market will struggle and private citizens will be subject to governmental surveillance on an unprecedented level. Those liberal progressives hoping that their political affiliation will save them are sadly mistaken. They are the useful idiots for this administration and its backers. Whatever is said must be interpreted as the exact opposite if its meaning is to be made clear. How did George Orwell know this would happen in this particular fashion?

The poorly educated, emotionally immature American public has been duped and is duping itself continually. President Obama new goal is to become President for Life. Will this happen? Believe it or not it is a 50/50 proposition. His party and supporters will probably go along simply to bask in power: they will have none of their own.

The Financial Reform Act will be used to subvert so called ordinary Americans. ( Presumably this makes the ruling class extraordinary Americans.) The next thing to watch for is the confiscation of guns without which further consolidation of power is impossible.

The United States of America is entering a phase that would have unimaginable only 10 years ago. The government of the USA is working against its own people; this is happening because most citizens don't want what is on offer. We are being told that we must accept a lower standard of living because other countries have it worse than we do. That is not our problem. If a country is in chaos, or economic deprivation the reason may usually be laid a the feet of that country's government. For decades we have sent trillions of dollars to Africa with no positive results. Why should we expect different results. The USA is being run by do gooders at best and totalitarian dictators at worst. It is doubtful that most Americans will accept a lower standard of living willingly. How will union members feel when they have to give up their boats, jet-skis, vacations, high pay and benefits.

The citizens of the US are deprived of real news sources or dispassionate analysis of the situation facing them. Today is the most dishonest period in our history. Which is saying a lot. The US has survived corruption and self interest in the past. It may not be able to do so this time.

Today the Nobel Prize went in the toilet and can no longer be considered as anything more than an Oscar. This is revolting. What has Obama done to earn such a formerly prestigious award. The United States is more divided than ever, Afghanistan is going to be returned to Taliban oppression, Venezuela will be the model for future development of the USA.

This cheapening of such an award is evidence of the mindless nature of liberalism. Even the commentators view that this action is an effort to snub George Bush is ridiculous. This award further compares Obama to Carter: unfavorably. Obama's ego will be so inflated now it will be difficult to believe.

Normally the Nobel Prize is reserved for accomplishment. Now it is apparently to be used as an affirmation of a political view. The prize has become irrelevant today.

As Dylan noted more than 40 years ago the times they are a changin. That comment on the times was merely a footnote to the re-start of change that was postponed by World War II, and which might only be halted by World War III. The change being discussed is that occurring in the USA.

Many Obama voters are disillusioned by the policies they have caused to be pursued by their chosen President and his lackeys. This feeling is unjustified. Barack Obama spelled out, perhaps not in detail, his plans for the political life of this country. The press and television knew it but chose to look the other way. The electorate was so caught up in celebrity and the so called historic moment that it went to sleep basking in self righteous egolation ( a term invented today to describe self worth enhanced by the delusion of a sefless act worthy of praise).

That the culture of the United States is critically ill is not news. The nation has literally having a nervous breakdown. The behavioral standards are so blurry that the average citizen has no idea about how to react to events. Sexual perversions are only for the "lower classes", national security is an alien concept, corruption at all levels of government is so rampant that the public apathetically accepts it as normal.

Those elected to govern within the limits of the constitution are now separate from the general citizenry. This separation is so distinct that the only ambition of today's politicians is the acquisition of power. The intended use of this power is to enslave their fellows to an extent unimaginable even forty years ago. The erosion of liberty and freedom is accelerating yet the general public sits watching their country go to hell on television.

Why does this matter? A large segment of the population will eventually rebel once the out of control government policies hit home. At this point the elected elite is basing the model of governance on the Venezuelan scheme of Hugo Chavez: something that was unthinkable only fifteen years ago.

Americans, as a whole, are ridiculous and infantile. This assessment is true even at the highest levels. There is almost no honesty in public discussion. There is certainly very little thinking going on. Apologists for abortion claim the only intellectual honest description of its political aspects is that of choice. What are the choices? It is not merely life or death (though that would seem adequate) it is the choice to become pregnant and then use the law for birth control. There are rare exceptions to that choice aspect such a rape or incest. It is possible to have sexual relations without pregnancy; so what's the problem? Abortion is legal and is being paid for with tax dollar. That payment is the objectionable part of the issue. Personally abortion is murder, but as it is legal at the moment the participants should pay for the procedure themselves.

This one issue demonstrates why the nanny state is ascendant. Other examples are the slavish acceptance of the idea that climate change is bad or abnormal; that everyone is entitled to medical insurance; that immigration laws should not be enforced .

President Obama, from a long historical perspective, will be viewed as a self inflicted disaster far beyond Jimmy Carter.

Now "That We're Here Where Are We?

Here we are a little over three months into the reign of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America. One of his idols, Abraham Lincoln (if Obama lore is to be believed) presided over a civil war that resulted in the preservation of said Union of States. It seems possible, if not likely, that Obama will preside over its dissolution. Of course the Marxists whose ambitions seem to becoming to fruition will disavow such an idea, there is enough disagreement in the country to make it feasible.

President Barack Obama is a liar, an excellent one, but one nevertheless. In these pages the point has been made over the years that what the liberal-fascists had been accusing the Bush Administration of doing was merely a projection of their own intentions. This observation is now being borne out. Dissent is now characterized as "Right wing Extremism". The Constitution of the United States is in the process of becoming a political fossil. Its very reason for existing, a codification of rules which if observed will assure the freedom and liberty of the individual within the group. The idea of individual rights is considered passe' among the intelligentsia; only their rights count.

The United States is moving into the realm of antiquated 19th century political ideas; that the state and its administrators now better how to regulate mankind's lives. As has been noted Plato has a lot to answer for as his ideas have been adopted and perverted into the political life plan of Marxo-Fascism. This idea is an old one and saw its greatest manifestations in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany; both now defunct. There is no intelligent life within the borders of the United States.

The masturbatory fantasies of the ultra extreme left are so turgid as to leave the rest of humanity out of the picture; the orgasmic shudder is the implementation of subjugation of the population. The tremendous expenditure of America's productivity has so weakened the nation that dissolution may be the only salvation of even a little of the original founding principles. Citizens of the United States are never to be subject to any government, rather the government is subject to the will of the people. No more.

The Marxo-Fascists actually believe that they will be able to maintain a place in the world while draining the nation's wealth and indenturing its people to the interests of foreign nations. China comes to mind. Since beginning these articles references to the sleeping dragon have warned of the rise of the Chinese Superpower. Oh, the American left hates the idea of the Superpower status of the United States. Fear not those days will soon be past. China, however, will never hesitate to use its power.

Perhaps China is our only hope as they will oppose Islam on a purely political basis. The Chinese will have no qualms in destroying any movement that attempts to modify or damage the power of the Communist Party.

President Obama is reducing the United States to a classroom experiment in feel good politics. It is to be hoped that the voters, who may have exercised that privilege for the last time, are satisfied with the cult of personality so common to true totalitarian societies.

The New Serfdom

It appears that feudalism is making a comeback and in a most unlikely spot: The United States of America. The popular vote has ceded authority to at best Fabian Socialist and at worst Marxist Communist with some kind of voo doo culture attached. This is the result of slow, determined effort by the Soviet Union to export its totalitarian ideas to the rest of the world.

In 1959 Nikita Khruschev visited the US and while at an exhibition of technology declared "We will bury you!". He meant that communism would, however slowly, take over the governance of the United States. Many Americans were frightened by this statement because even then the society was beginning to lose its attachment to the values which had made the country great.

Probably the single most important cause of the decline of the United States has been the lingering effects of slavery. The treatment of the black population from the beginning has been a slow growing cancer that now threatens to completely destroy the country. Marxists have seen this and put it to good use. The initial problem of having other human beings as property in a nation with the aspirations that are put forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution has never been resolved. While the natural idea of family coherence was gradually eroded among the black population another more insidious cultural disease was encouraged.

When families are sold in separate parcels to different owners and people are subjected to physical and mental abuse the disintegration of the group and even individuals cannot be surprising. Once the problem of the Civil War was resolved and slavery abolished conditions were slow to change. De facto racial segregation was institutionalized by President Woodrow Wilson in the early 20th century. The official US government position until 1947 was that segregation was necessary. During this time the Democrat Party ruled the nation, as it does today.

At a time of economic crisis the Democrat Party of the 1930's began to emulate the Soviet Union a nation established in 1919. Academia around the world embraced Marxism as the panacea for government; thus denying the existence and properties of human nature. Another cancer had been loosed within US society. White guilt became the norm among intellectuals who were protected by tenure and wealth never needing to come to grips with reality.

Bigotry cannot be excused under any circumstances and neither can patronage. The Democrat Party destroyed the black family and forced a cultural segregation during the 1960's under the guise of promoting civil rights. The culture of dependency emerged at that time. The peculiar institution remains so today.

The United States was ripe for Marxist drift for an unexpected reason: its tremendous prosperity after World War II. Life in the US, up to then, had never been truly easy. Most of the population was eking out a living though there was always a small economic upper class. This class of citizen was generally well educated even the less capable finished a university degree.

After the War the citizenry were ready for a change, but it would be the "Baby Boomers" that would force it. While there parents were working the children, particularly the urban ones, were rebelling in mostly childish ways. Once this group began its university experience the Marxist culture of higher education was able to get a grip on most of them. This coupled with the so-called fairness impulse has made for a very destructive combination.

Again the 1960's saw the tremendous growth of welfare dependence in urban environs. The "families" got payments as long as there was no male living in the household. The home then became a mother and her children; often illegitimate. The role of black males became eroded and the father figure has disappeared. This is so pervasive that many black adults value their mothers tremendously and have no idea who or where their fathers are. This destructive behavior by government is still reverberating through society.

The simple examples of hip-hop, rap, and gangsta "music" is merely a form of self segregation. This segregation is to be expected once a group of people begin to realize that the largess of white politicians is really an attempt to continue to control black people. It has worked.

The education system in the US in pathetic when compared to expectations of excellence, but superior if the true desired result is a compliant citizenry. Today 90% of black voters choose the Democrat party and have for 40 years. Yet any examination of Democrat controlled states and cities reveals a miserable record if prosperity and social advancement is the goal. Every state in the Union controlled by Democrats, which is most of them, are in severe decline mirroring the nation as a whole.

The culture of dependence has dumbed down the desire to achieve social mobility; something the economic and political elites have discouraged from time immemorial. We are seeing the absolute corruption of the political system of the United States and are losing something that most likely will never be returned. The American population currently between being unborn and 40 years of age will be economic serfs for their entire lives. They will gradually descend to a poverty level unimagined by the optomistic self-reliant individuals that built the country.

Politicians have no desire to serve the nation; rather this class and those who aspire to it feel the nation should serve them. This is so obvious that it is painful.

Barack Obama recently stated that "Only the government has the resources to fix the economy". The government has no resources. The contract between the governors and the governed was originally the certain citizens would be trusted by the others to represent their interests and preserve the nation. Mostly the government was supposed to stay out of the way of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This quaint idea is dead, praised only in the abstract by the current ruling class.

Obama's Night Out

The dust has begun to settle and a clearer picture of the future of the United States is emerging. The events of the last few weeks have been amazing to say the least. The actions of a Democrat controlled congress have provided incontrovertible evidence that the party cannot be trusted with power. In an orgy of ego and recklessness the Democrats have turned 200 plus years of self reliance into the dustbin of history. It is unlikely that the USA will be able to recover its position in the world for a number of reasons.

First the enormous borrowing of money to satisfy their clients the Democrats have placed such a strain on the economy that the climb back will require generations of a shrinking workforce to accomplish. This condition presumes that the enemies of the United States will remain on the sidelines waiting for a recovery. Of course that is not going to happen.

Another problem is that the constitution of the United States barely exists at this point. It is merely a historical reference point and a convenient excuse to take some action or other.

Last night President Obama, though garner praise from the chattering classes, produced a pedantic, boring, and deceptive picture of the present and future. He and his minions are quite simply liars. The American public is so bereft of thinking ability and consumed with media generated fear that they are like children reaching for their parent's hand at the shopping mall.

The reality of job losses and reduction in business activity is a fact, but its main drama is played out on these directly affected. The political class is merely taking advantage of a difficult situation to advance schemes that have been rejected for decades. The vagaries of the business cycle are well known, yet today's media act as if such things have never happened and are impossible to change. No doubt certain areas of the country are in worse shape than others, a visit to shopping areas in some parts create wonder about where exactly the disaster is occurring; in places like Michigan it is obvious.

Despite President Obama's claims to the contrary government produces nothing. Government by definition is non-productive in its role of maintaining public order, arbitrating disputes, legislating within the bounds of the constitution and can provide a good or service at a profit. Profit is needed for reinvestment in production and incentives for employees to continue to be productive.

It is amusing to recall the reference to Karl Rove as George Bush's brain. Who is Barack Obama's brain? Based on recent behavior it is George Soros and company who are deciding what actions Obama should take. It is fairly clear that Obama has no leadership skills and unclear that he will be able to develop and assert such skills.

This is a good time to be old in America for now the best of times have passed. In the coming months a decline will set in economically that old the ditch diggers in the world will not be able to hold off. This decline will be aggravated by physical attacks on people and places by the Islamofacist enemies already embedded and waiting for the order. The Democrats and their leaders have convinced themselves that the past eight years were an illusion and that the USA would have no enemies if only Al Gore had been elected instead of George Bush. A bitter surprise is waiting.

The cultural decline of the United States is accelerating so quickly that it is becoming unrecognizable. That decadence is the norm is not even considered remarkable. Child pornographers, child rapists, and the like are nothing more than a news item; often not even being imprisoned for the murder of children. Such a society can not preserve itself. The gradual disintegration of the nation has begun to pick up speed and as usual California provides the template of what the future holds.

Barack Obama is a fraud and more closely resembles Hugo Chavez than he does Abraham Lincoln. He parrots ideas of the past and ignores the chance to lead a nation crying out for leadership while he brushes aside any rational opposition. The Pelosi-Reid orgy will create the hangover of the century though it is doubtful that the general population is intelligent enough to understand what a real disaster is brewing.

Today's situation is like all such conditions: the result of small mistakes ignored. The Democrat social policy of a house for everyone regardless of ability to pay has created the current situation. Their dishonesty in denying blame is exacerbating the panic. The panic can be laid squarely on George Bush. His failure to lead at the end of his term has opened the door the a socialist republic undreamed of by most citizens even twenty years ago.

The dust has settled around the Palin nomination and one thing is clear: the Democrats are scared to death. Why should this be and how do I know? The most obvious indication of the Obama campaign's fear is their ridiculous reaction to her. This tactic by McCain has forced the left to reveal themselves, inadvertently, as political fakes.

All the concern about the underclass, handicapped, retarded, poverty ridden, and criminal classes is phony. The left only wants power and presents a compassionate front that is wholly cynical and manipulative. In the case of Sarah Palin why the outrage from the feminine left? Ostensibly the critical factor in feminism is for every woman to able to actualize her potential. The reality is that only those whose subscribe to the ultra left political view ( basically communism or some other totalitarian variant) are eligible for praise and glory. Any woman who tries in any other way is contemptible. The proof is in the press and other media forms.

McCain is the true agent of change because he has nothing to lose. Obama is simply using the word to gain everything. He is merely a tool in the hands of George Soros, Tom Hayden, Bill Ayers, Louis Farakan and others. This should be obvious from the lack of early support from the now middle of the roaders like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. The latter have been reduced to normalcy when compared to the former.

The strident yelps of pain from the left are heart warming, they are being stabbed by their own methods and rhetoric. Even the so called main stream media are being pushed to the limit. Most members of the media are college educated in a Marxist system from which they cannot escape; and like most bigots they fear anyone or anything different from themselves.

The current media can be compared the to KKK in their rabid attacks on the Palin nomination. Even the most rational complain that they were not consulted by McCain in the vetting process. Already the Democrat State House in Alaska is preparing a false or half truth report on Palin and her handling of the trooper controversy. They have even stated that the report will be negative : an "October surprise". Which now, of course, will be no surprise at all.

The difficulty in writing is usually what to leave out; there is so much to say and space must be economically used. Looking back on the past year and a half one can be forgiven for feeling a bit frustrated. The Democrats came in to drain the swamp, yet despite a nation wide drought, the Washington DC swamp is deeper than ever. How stupid is the American public? The United States is being held hostage to the desperate desire for revenge against George Bush a president of the soon to be past. The vitriol never stops. The acts at the behest of another George, Soros, are so foolish as to amaze upon beholding their brazenness. What sort of mirror do these people use to maintain their grip on reality?

The most ridiculous non-act was the failure to provide immunity from lawsuits to those who helped protect the nation; instead these companies are vilified as accomplices. In future there will be no incentive to help the government protect the nation. All because the Democrat party is the home of trial lawyers who are intent on getting rich at the expense of national safety.

The hidden racism that resides in the deepest recesses of society, among all races, and especially those Democrats in denial. The culture of corruption that sent the Republican congress packing in 2006 has been replaced by another culture of corruption; this a Democrat one. The wonder is that the level of American political thought can be so vacuous when the nation's position in the world is considered. That human nature should automatically be counteracted by the results of any election. There are honorable, honest, dedicated members of Congress; they are junior in rank and have yet to be infected by the temptations of power. Yet the US body politic keeps voting for expectations of change and honesty; the results are always the same. This is the cliched definition of insanity.

The stress of gaining power is causing the Democrat party to reveal its true racist, homophobic, sexist, nature. Clinton and her satraps are constantly conjuring images of black thuggery and incompetence. The new governor of New York State will be light skinned black man; one whose candidacy was only weakly supported by the state party. Ironically the most diverse party is the Republican Party, unfortunately Republican leadership is too weak to make a point of this. If
Obama were a Republican he would be supported by the party if his ideas were in line with its philosophy.

As a Democrat Obama is the object of not so subtle references to his race and all the social undercurrents that go along with such acts. In the Democrat Party personal power is the object of the exercise; the good of the nation is secondary. Republicans foolishly think that most people will act in their own best interests. Perhaps singly that might work, but in a conformist, poorly educated mass there is no chance.

Elliot Spitzer is the microcosm of the Democrat Party, his arrogance and self-indulgence (sometimes called hubris) made his present situation inevitable. His fall won't be mourned which must be a lesson to Jack Murtha, Robert Byrd, Teddy Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid. There are others of course but the leadership is so corrupt and beholden to special interest that they have mortgaged the Party's future to George Soros and Move On. Org.

How will the issue of Iraq play out now that there seems to be some real progress in the nation building process? The Presidential elections are now seven months away and the apparent nominees are John McCain and Barak Obama. At this moment most people feel that Obama is the inevitable victor; but so was Hillary Clinton just a few months ago. What factors that must be addressed to gain the White House?

Traditionally the most important things to voters is the economic situation at the time of the election. This year an artificial concern, the Iraq War, has propelled Obama to prominence;but will it continue? On the face of it John McCain has no real chance of winning the general election. He is old, he is white, he is a he; he's the wrong man at the wrong time. After all now is the chance for the US to move into the 21st century politically.

The trouble with the last statement is that the Democrat Party is only offering 19th century solutions: Marxism, Socialism, and Communism. Their Big Idea is that the people cannot be trusted to manage their lives and the Illuminati of the Democrat Party are the only group smart enough to do so. Slogans, while pithy and sometimes interesting, are not necessarily true. American citizens are so trained for instant gratification that composing a simple thought has become an agonising ordeal for most.

The extreme left wing of the Democrat Party owns the primary process , the Party leadership, and the candidates. Contrast this with the Republican Party. During the Bush Administration the Party lost its way and became a pale reflection of the Democrat Party; spending out of control, members going to prison, and an absolute failure to stand up their opponents.

The driving factor in the primary has been the Iraq War this will not continue. Its economic impact is only now being felt along with misguided government policies. The sub prime mortgage problems, started by the congressional mandate that everyone should be a homeowner and that the only thing preventing is was racism. Well that turns out to be wrong. The problem turns out to be the inability to pay back the loans, crooked mortgage companies, an ill-educated consumer public, and the failure of the US to compete world wide.

As Global Warming becomes Global Cooling the initiatives already planned to alleviate phony environmental concerns will cause further economic deterioration. Whoever is elected to the presidency is going to have a hand full of difficulties beyond the norm. Increased taxation will further stifle development as liquidity is taken out of private hands and placed in the care of government bureaucrats; proven time and again to be unworthy of such trust.

It's impossible to predict November from February but some indicators are on the horizon.
Iraq is becoming a policy success by sheer dint of effort; it was a project mismanaged and underestimated from the start. The economy will be the main problem and one that will not be honestly attacked. The recent congressional proposal to impose further taxes on oil companies is an example of populism run amok. This act will only drive gasoline prices higher; but its cathartic effect makes it worthwhile.

Government by emotion has never worked and won't now.

The United States once was a place where political debate took no prisoners. Today it seems that false decorum is the order of the day. Yesterday a controversy, rather a tempest in a teapot, broke out over Bill Cunningham using Obama's middle name during a speech boosting John McCain's candidacy. Oh the outrage! McCain, a person who is obviously courageous, disavowed the use of Obama's Hussein middle name as be pejorative. The wonder is how do his mother and father feel about that description of their name choices?

Political correctness has already robbed everyday life of much of its richness and now political campaign speech is to be impeded. In the case of McCain this is no surprise given the McCain-Feingold Act restricting Free Speech in political campaigns. The Democrats are constantly berating the Bush Administration for restrictions of freedoms and personal rights (without examples of course) yet they are the very party of government intrusion in everyday life.

Of course the Obama campaign does not want even an oblique reference to his Muslim heritage or even his past involvement and expressed gratitude for McCain's disavowal of Cunningham. Anyone who wants to lead the US must be able to take the gloves off when facing opponents or as Teddy Roosevelt pointed out "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." All the candidates promise to run a campaign based on issues, whatever that means, yet Obama's main issue seems to be the hope for change; again a rather nebulous statement.

The United States and its citizens are in for more of the same with less to enjoy. The only difference between John McCain, Barak Obama, and Hillary Clinton is their degree of Liberal tendencies; in which case McCain is the lesser of the three evils. McCain will perform the job of president best, which is to defend the nation and the constitution. The other two will move the US towards the European model at best and the Cuban model at worst. The only saving grace is that a term is four years and the do nothing congress is in place.

A Sad Day For American Journalism

The charges leveled by the New York Times against John McCain regarding his relationship with a K Street lobbyist mark the current low water mark for the newspaper and American journalism. The alleged "affair" took place during the 1990s, why wasn't this brought up then? The Times refuses to allow the authors of these charges to speak with other media outlets;why?

Apparently Rush Limbaugh's so-called decline will be discounted by the publication of these allegations. Limbaugh had predicted, when the Times endorsed McCain for president, that once he gained momentum that some type of smear campaign would be launched against him by the "liberal drive-by media". Is this Times article the opening salvo? The disgusting aspect of the charges is that they are unsubstantiated and in fact made by innuendo rather than directly; something beneath the dignity and misssion of the New York Times.

Has the immaturity level of liberalism pushed the Times to the level of a high school gossip publication? How the Times expect to be taken seriously now? This the latest in a few years long decline in its integrity. The vacuity of the liberal press is made obvious by those who read, believe, and espouse its ramblings. A close examination of the Obama phenomenom makes it clear that emotion not thought is the driving force behind his candidacy. This same attitude permeates the media: make a charge and see if it sticks seems to be the guiding editorial principle.

The New York Times masthead proclaims "All The News That's Fit To Print" one should remember the Mad Magazine parody of "All The News That Fits" when considering its efficacy.

World opinion appears to be important to most Americans, why then is there no blushing when stories like the McCain allegations are published. This is not reporting, nor is it thoughtful editorial posturing. It is simply aping the National Enquirer.

During a dinner party I met several Europeans who had become US citizens. It was clear that their cultural biases probably will never be overcome by their commitment to citizenship. During the conversations they parrotted the media biased lines about the incompetence of George Bush; almost verbatum from NBC. Remarkably their voting inclination is towards John McCain, a paradox of large proportions.

It must be quite a struggle for a person born in one culture to take on the responsibility of adopting another. There are unconcious aspects of one's environment which are absorbed willingly but unkowingly. It is difficult for anyone to separate themselves from the prism of experience when considering a situation. For naturalized US citizens, particularly Euros, it is nearly impossible.

Europeans guage the United States from a perspective of history that they like to say is lengthy enough to make decisions that cannot be questioned. Their sense of superiority is based on overturning monarchies, destroying Christianity, adopting malicious socialism verging on communism, and with only a little help throwing out totalitarian facisim at the expense of millions of lives. To Europeans the United States is a lucky group of failed Euros forced to emigrate to escape their shortcomings. Of course this begs the question of their presence here.

Another view is that of Latinos who fear the repetition of oppressive government and so never really get integrated in society. Gang dominated social groups and neighborhood are a serious cancer within the American body politic. As Latinos are the fastest growing demographic within the US borders any failure to assimilate is bound to be dangerous. Of course Latino activists scoff at the idea of assimilation; a disturbing continuity of recent immigrants from any source.

The hope is that the third generation will be one that can only speak English.

Time for A Change

All the pundits agree that now is a great time to change direction. The wonder is which direction and what changes might be best. It is certainly true that George Bush has been a disappointment to Republicans and Democrats alike. The Democrats of course have become pyschotic about Bush while Republicans are merely worn out.

Bush has done a yeoman's job in holding back the Islamofascists, this of course may change with the Democrat ascendancy, still the public does not seem to appreciate the fact that no attacks have been successful since 2001. There are now many young people who have lived in peace and have no memory of the World Trade Center. The general public now has the belief that if good will is shown to those who would destroy Western Civilization that no harm will come.

Will Hillary or Obama really protect the nation? How can they be expected to protect against a threat they don't think exists? Is this the kind of change that will produce the best result? The main worry is that the Democrats actually believe their rhetoric and that the United States is solely to blame for the world's difficulties. Should that be the case the next four years will be difficult to say the least. Any damage will be temporary but still may take a long time to recover from or to change thinking enough to rectify.

The apparent inevitable Democrat electoral success will be ushered in on a theme of celebratory revenge against the hated Republicans. All will be able to witness some really outlandish comments and promises. Once reality sets in there will be the normal electoral remorse, too late.

John McCain Why Not?

The better question is "How long will it be until another old white man is elected President?". The relevancy of conservative support for John McCain is a mere sideshow, it is unlikely that any Republican will be elected to the presidency until there is a woman or some minority male candidate on offer. Why should this be the case? In one sense the Clinton's have had a major impact on American society: without Bill there would be no Hillary. What this means is that a tipping point has been reached where those who want and expect the government to run their lives are ascendant.

There is a constant reminder that women are more than fifty percent of the US electorate so why hasn't a woman reached the pinnacle? That question will soon fade as Hillary takes the reins. The likelihood of another white male being elected depends entirely on how Hillary handles the job. Should she stumble and outrage or frighten the population (two distinct possibilities) the damage to the female cause will be significant. The reverse is true if her term is judged as successful.

The United States ideal of "rugged individualism" is irretrievably lost. Those desirous of a "Nanny State" are going to have their wish granted and will probably enjoy it. Since World War II the rush to socialism in the US has been gaining momentum. Three generations have been indoctrinated by government schools to expect care and feeding from the government. No one should rise above the crowd, no one should be wealthier than anyone else (except the ruling class of course), no one should be happier or more miserable than anyone else. These tenents are obvious to those who don't want to be dependent on government but to no one else.

Take the example of Katrina. Why did the population, including government, fail to save themselves? Warnings were given, but mobilization was not ordered. The entitled waited for action by the leaders; when none came they drowned. The leadership, having rejected Federal intervention, then blamed the Feds for lack of help. Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco were paralysed they failed their charges, but in the tradition of liberalism no one can be blamed except the hated conservatives. The assumption being that conservatives want to eliminate all people of "color". A one dimensional picture of any human being is of course self limiting but allows venting of fear and frustration.

There is an apparent genetic or at least evolutionary need for females to seek out a male that will care for her and her offspring in terms of protection and provisions. This need is the basis of the Nanny State. No female can be expected to place herself or her children in harm's way and be considered to be in the mainstream. All so-called matchmakers use this premise, all socialist governments are rooted in this theory, no male political candidate can go against this tendency.

The goal of today's Democrat Party is to place the United States in decline so that by getting in touch with its femine side it will not offend any other countries. Bill Clinton, in his new role of Hillary surrogate, has recently stated that the US economy must be slowed to do its part in curing global warming. It is doubtful that the liberal leadership's "carbon footprint" will be reduced as they are fighting the good fight to subdue the rest of the population.

To be successful in future elections Republicans must, and most likely will, adapt to the situation of providing what the public wants rather than providing the leadership the public needs. For the past 15 years the Republicans in Washington have become lap dogs of the Democrat Party.

Hillary Clinton will be elected for a few reasons : 1) novelty, 2)Party Leadership has it planned, 3)white male Democrats will not vote for Obama, 4)Latino leadership will not support Obama, 5) white women are transferring their desires to Hillary's success.

The only hope, and it's a slim one, is that Conservatives will allow themselves to be disconnected from the Nanny State and begin a resistance movement and endure all the hardships that will entail. Perhaps such action will stir the dormant natural urges of their fellow citizens who will begin to long for freedom and liberty even though such urges will be frightening.

Neo-Comms are the New Communists and they are determined to make the United States pay for its economic and social success. The desired outcome is to have all the poor and middle class citizens working for the government while the wealthy continue to enjoy their privileges.

Every time you hear Howard Dean or a surrogate speak about how the "hard right" is taking away the rights of Americans remember that the Democrats are merely projecting their intended behavior on others to distract attention. The United States under the NeoComms will be a place that involves a tremendous amount of government intervention in every day life. This will be accepted because the majority of Americans are already so poorly educated and so well indoctrinated that the concept of liberty and freedom is essentially lost or at best misunderstood.

While the surge in Iraq has had a very positive impact on the violence and chance for victory a closer look might tell a different story. The Islamofacists are biding their time. The attacks on US and Iraqi forces are mere pin-pricks at the moment because our enemies know that the NeoComms will not resist once they take power. There is a good chance that military and anti-terror measures will be reduced. The simple fact is that liberals in America do not believe that their is a threat from Muslim extremists; and if there is it is only one of revenge. The revenge motive is assumed to be limited in scope and that after only a few thousand more Americans are killed by terrorists the whole situation will be satisfied and come to an end.

The central fact that is missed by liberals and other deniers is that the Wahabbists goal is simply complete conversion to Islam or death. Take it or leave it, they don't care.

The excitement over the budget deficit is misplaced and misleading. In 1961 the budget deficit was 286 billion dollars; forty-seven years later it is expected to rise to 350 billion dollars; making the actual deficit about 150 billion in 1960 dollars. What's the problem?

The essentially feudal outlook of the Democrat leadership should be a warning to their followers; it already is to right thinking citizens. The wealthy will have their privileges, the rest of the population will have their minimum safety guaranteed against any risk or danger in exchange for compliance and conformity. The Mark Cubans, Bill Gates, Warren Buffets, et al will not give up anything much compared to everyone else. Suppose a person had accumulated a savings of 100000 dollars; the NeoComms are proposing a "one-time" social security bailout tax that will confiscate 15% of those savings to give to those who had not saved. The natural conclusion is don't save for the future.

The NeoComms will force a person to purchase medical insurance or else have their wages garnished to make the payments. No choice only acceptance of medicore medical care.

A citizenery deserves the government it elects. Maybe there will be another chance to change.

What's The Problem?

It's difficult for white citizens of the United States, particularly those born in the 1970's and later, to understand why there is a such an intractable racial divide in this nation. As a child growing up in Georgia during the 1950's one could read about lynching of black men in what seemed to remote country towns. Those same towns today are bedroom communities for Atlanta's business world. These years are not so far away historically, and just next door personally for those who lived through them.

For young people today these experiences have been trivialized by a culture that exploits rather than explores events. The so-called rap, hip-hop, and other artists express their own lives which are reflected against a contemporary background without reference to the historic basis. For this reason the perspective is shallow and tentative glorifying bad behavior that is justified by poorly understood history. The fact that murder, mayhem, drug deals, and dissipation are the predominant themes leads one to believe that this is a culture adrift and one which may be lost at sea forever.

Racial relations in the US are probably best in the southern tier of states as the races have lived together , not always peaceably, for a long time. This recent appreciation for each other is tenuous and suffering erosion by northern transplants seeking refuge from the expense and overcrowding of certain parts of the north; not to mention the weather.)

Up north race relations are worse because of the cynical outlook given by the self righteous view that the North saved the Union and freed the slaves. This is true and false at the same time. As is today political expediency accidentally resulted in a public good. If one should disagree consider that the worst racial violence occurred in Detroit, MI (1943), Los Angeles, CA (1965), Newark, NJ (1967), and Roxbury, MA (1972).

All this brings us to the Democrat Party's quest for the White House. The phony liberal sympathy and desire to end racial injustice has been revealed as just that: phony. Minorities must now realize this and seek a place in either a new party, force the Democrats to live up to their promises, or seek a place among Republicans and conservatives. The driving force of conservatism, personal responsibility and achievement, may be anathema to those used to Government programs, but is the only real hope of survival and progress minorities have.

The white or Anglo power holders will not surrender gladly, this is evidenced by John Edwards' campaign which is the height of political cynicism or else self delusion. Edwards, one of the wealthiest people in South Carolina, posits that because his background was economically disadvantaged he is uniquely qualified to speak for the poor. Nothing could be further from reality. Edwards simply wants another notch in his accomplishment record.

From the perspective of one who grew up during segregation and has been formed by it, this writer is amazed at how much change has occurred and how much more apparently must be done. If Bill Gates, Barbara Striesand, the Clintons, et al really want to give money to the "poor" let them dispose of their fortunes save enough to live on. Rich liberals do not want to donate their money but rather that of their fellow citizens. Is it possible that the John Corzines of the world could live in just one house? Does Al Gore really need a Lear Jet to get from place to place to sell his Barnumesque ideas?

The problem boils down to this: Barack Obama is a rogue negro venturing off the Democrat Plantation and the embedded racism of the Democrat party is being revealed. Just as is the closet racism in most liberals being pushed to the front for self examination.

The Race Card, as played by the Clintons, has shown that racial prejudice is alive and well among those in the liberal ranks. Most people simply repress these feelings and under stress or a sense of safety, will revert to their natural instincts.

Thus the white, or majority, will always revert to their natural position of fearing those socially and financially inferior to them. Fear often turns to hatred or at least dislike and is the justification for action. The wealthy often behave as if their resources entitle them to unearned respect and deference. The not in my backyard syndrome in Cape Cod is a good example. The wealthy "Greens" want environmental protection, but no windmills off their scenic shores.

The Democrat party has long demonized conservatives and Republicans as racial bigots, among other things, yet has done little to get the slaves off the political plantation. Certainly there are "house niggers" to quote Harry Belafonte: Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton come to mind. Not one Democrat president has appointed any minority to a position of power comparable to those appointed by Ronald Reagan, and "W". The effrontery of Barack Obama is breathtaking, not to conservatives, to the Democrat elite. Even the black power structure is frightened; their fear is that by playing out of turn Obama has jeopardized the pitiful gains made to date.

Turn on any PBS late night program where prominent minority spokespeople are lamenting the fate of Latino and Black members of society. Their claims for reparations, more money for education, fewer incarcerations, etc. belie the achievements of the Democrat party which has been in control of the United States, almost without interruption, since 1960. Why is there still racial discord? Simply put it is the cynicism of liberals who would use these people as issues only and blather on while preserving there power. The message to minorities is that if they keep voting and waiting eventually the Democrats will act on their behalf.

First Global Warming must be solved, energy independence gained, US military disbanded, socialized medicine implemented, and perhaps taxpayer funded auto and home owners insurance provided.

The wacko left, symbolized by the billionaires Soros, Buffet, and Gates; abetted by their Hollywood surrogates, will not be satisfied until every spark of liberty and independent thought is extingquished from regular life as it has been from academia.

When the Castro-Chavez doctrines are made one with the United States then life will be acceptable to modern day US liberal progressives.

The Times Wish List

Recently the New York Times lamented that they, the editors, hardly recognized the United States anymore. Perhaps this is acknowledgement of the dementia that has afflicted that venerable publication for many years. The editors expressed the hope that finally the American people could rectify the horrible mistake they made during the 2004 election by keeping a person of low character in office; namely George Bush. These citizens of the world went on to catalog the errors and atrocities committed in the name of the USA by the military and other governmental departments.

The list while not inclusive was not so different from acts that take place in every administration and during any war. Revenge killings after battle have been with mankind and will remain until the end of time. The recent debate over torture fails to recognize the "foulest" technique of water boarding is hardly new. In fact it was used by the US Army during the early 20th century to help suppress a rebellion in the Philippines.

Is the recent result in Iowa a response to the pleadings of the New York Times? If so the editors must disappointed. Barack Obama will not be elected. There are a few reasons for this but mainly because he is black. There are not enough unprejudiced Democrats to make that work, many simply will not vote or will crossover. Obama is simply too naive the be trusted with the country's welfare.

John Edwards is certainly not a highly principled individual he is a trial lawyer and embodies the worst of that ilk. As a single term senator from North Carolina he could not be re-elected mainly because the voters got to know him. Should he be elected to the presidency corruption on a grand scale would result.

Hillary Clinton's third place finish is a mild rebuke to the Clintonistas but will it carryover? Mrs. Clinton is without doubt the most dangerous politicians in the United States. Her plan to replace capitalism with some form of socialism, preferably a Stalinist model, may be thwarted by Blue Dog Democrats but she will still try if elected. Certainly her husband is no model of decency as demanded by the New York Times.

On the Republican side is the other Clinton known as Mike Huckabee. There is no public so gullible that a huckster cannot be elected. What the nation needs at this point is conservative leadership and Huckabee is not able to provide it. The only positive sign from him is his endorsement of the Fair Tax; a position he will abandon promptly after taking office.

Mr. Romney appears presidential but must be seen in the light of his cooperation with the Massachusetts's legislature. His health care plan is worse for the poor than before its passage. How can the government force its people to spend money they don't have for something they might not use? Appearances are often deceiving as in the case of Romney.

The appears to be scant resources of leadership in the USA. Perhaps this has always been the case with surprises emerging after the fact. In today's world events move too fast to chance a lackluster President. The nation needs leadership not pandering. Most of today's politicians simply want to keep their jobs and their perks. The rest of the population continues to watch and complain but not act.

The inmates, led by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, have reached out to make a great impression on the starving around the world. Now that US agricultural production will be devoted to the energy business prices are naturally rising. The demagogue leaders of poverty stricken nations can now truthfully blame the United States for promoting starvation in their lands. The liberals must be feeling hurt that the rest of the world doesn't recognize their good intentions; "the road to hell is paved with good intentions", that reliable chestnut is always ignored by liberals.

While Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, and Venezuela mine the oil in the Gulf of Mexico American idealist nuts are working to ensure that the US cannot do the same. Rather wind power, solar power, geo-thermal power, corn power et al is being hailed as the salvation of the planet.

The campaign started in the 1950's as an educational forum to rid the US of litter has turned into a gigantic way of life for those who cannot find one anywhere else. The so called leadership of the American people is incompetent and largely impotent when it comes to uniting the nation in a sensible way. When it comes to resolving conflicting interests the task has become impossible. There is no shading in opinions these days. Everyone is correct and wrong at the same time.

The United States has plenty of fossil fuel ready to be extracted for use by the nation. As a matter of fact fossil fuels by definition are still being created; as long as fossils remain buried in the earth they will continue to be squeezed into liquid form. Why should one suppose that the earth is no longer having an effect on fossilized animals and plant since the process began?

If only the self absorbed, frightened, liberal wackos could abandon their sleeping pills and simply go outside and contemplate the universe, it would become apparent to them that mankind can never have a major impact on creation.

The Onset Of Another Religious War

Actually religious wars have never ceased as evidenced by "terror attacks" on non-Muslim parts of the world. Thanks to oil wealth and a continued ascendancy of Wahabbism, the confidence that the Caliphate can be re-established is at an all time high. The skirmishes of the past were merely probes the large scale attack is now on.

The more interesting occurrence is the recent warning or notice by Pope Benedict XVI that the hoax of Global Warming must only be considered something else when hard incontrovertible scientific evidence can be offered in support. This is the first rebuke to Pope Al the 1st from a nearly unimpeachable source. The leader of one billion Catholics around the world has the weight to criticize and be noticed.

Because atheists, agnostics, puny liberals, and other dupes need something spiritual, they have embraced Global Warming as the cult that it is. Pope Al Gore I is it putative leader, though he must guard his title jealously. As the ideas promulgated by this group of fanatics is defined as a "consensus of the informed" it is really simply a way to have a spiritual life and feel good about oneself.

There can be no consensus in science beyond that of granting that a particular area of research has promise and should be further explored. Political and economic change should not be suggested nor implemented on the hysterical leadership of the UN or the fears of the bewildered. The outlandish claims in the face of contrary evidence are clues to the false premise being advanced.

The scene today is similar to other end of world cults in which the leadership advise abandoning all worldly goods (with the exception of the leader's) and sitting on a mountain top awaiting the end on a specified date. So too do the Global Warmites predict an end date: by the end of the century. Does this sound familiar?

The intrusion of Pope Benedict XVI will be unwelcome by Pope Al the 1st and ignored in Europe for reasons of secular ego. Around the world the result may be different. The development of this latest skirmish will be interesting to watch while the rest of the world ignores the more serious threat of Global Islamofascism.

Atheism Why So Strident?

There seems to be within the human psyche a need for spirituality, though obvious it is denied vociferously by many. Religion today takes many forms and perhaps this is a not so recent trend. In the United States of America there is much pain caused and endured by the greatly misunderstood doctrine of separation of church and state. This idea has been completely twisted out of shape by those who want attention, are conformists, want to seem more intelligent than they are, maliciously want to hurt others, and those who want a religion but one that seems unorganized.

Separation of Church and State simply means that there will be no national religion established, maintained, and dictated by the government of the United States. This has nothing to do with all the things atheists have, are, and will complain about. All this noise of being excluded, having their feelings hurt, and being snubbed by society is just that: noise. What is really going on is their need to believe clashing with their need for attention. They speak of the intolerance by believers regarding the beliefs of atheists. Is this true?

At this point atheists are reduced to an undignified search for symbols; the Tree of Knowledge comes to mind as does the "Celebration of The Seasons". Atheism is the polar opposite of any organized belief system that includes a deity or group of deities. Therefore no symbols should be needed. Rather atheists should go quietly on their way ignoring the stupidity of believers instead of competing with them for the spotlight.

For most human beings such an action, while noble, is spiritually impossible. This is proved by the confused nature of societies around the planet. In the USA drugged out teenagers are shooting their fellows in hopes of gaining notoriety; a desperate idea as they are usually not around themselves to know if they were successful. In Muslim society the fear of non conformance is so great that those groups have not advanced beyond the 9th Century AD. Contact with other religious groups is generally proscribed by "modern" Islam and in some cases is punishable by death. The main thrust of Islamic politics today is world domination by any means.

Neither Hindu nor Muslim will tolerate the other when the chance to kill one or the other presents itself. In China the government is the religion all others are not or only barely tolerated; in the latter case only if such religions resemble parlor games. This tedious situation abides almost everywhere.

Today a new religion with a secular caste is being foisted upon its citizens by the state. This attempt will probably be successful though short lived. Its name is Global Warming, its high priest is Al Gore and his acolytes though myriad are chiefly represented by politicians looking for a way to preserve their power. Once the sun flares abate the crisis will pass and success will be claimed by the Church of Global Warming: it is false.

However as in typical organized religions non-believers are considered heretics and persecution is allowed. Atheists are betraying their beliefs simply by making such an issue of them. The existence of any belief system is what irritates them. Their sad need for attention and the intolerance of any but their own ideas is bringing them to the fore now more than ever. It is safe for them.

A Believable Conspiracy Theory

It appears that Hillary Clinton, worried about her poll slippage, conceived and executed a plan that would reinstate her as the leading candidate for the Democrat Party. Last week in New Hampshire and nut-case schizophrenic entered the Clinton campaign headquarters and " held hostage" several people. Of course the campaign committee will deny the idea that they were behind the hostage situation, but will they be truthful?

The Clintons are well known for hard ball politics, deceit, revenge, anger, and one positive trait; determination. The syncophants that surround the Clintons will do anything for them e.g. Sand Berger stealing and destroying classified materials from the National Archive in an effort to protect Bill Clinton from scrutiny regarding Osma Bin Laden.

Today Hillary is being praised by her media cohorts as providing a shining example of leadership with her behavior during the "hostage situation". Further she demonstrated her compassion in allowing that the hostage taker was merely a troubled individual who needed help not harm. Various pundits have put forward the idea that Hillary could lose Iowa but not Iowa and New Hampshire. It seemed likely, before this incident, that she might indeed lose Iowa. Now such an outcome is more problematic as the welling of misplaced and phony sympathy is being heaped upon the candidate.

She might still come in behind Obama in Iowa as she has been slipping in both Iowa and New Hampshire. It is interesting that the hostage event took place in New Hampshire and not Iowa. Of course New Hampshire is much more accessible to national media, including CNN which apparently got the first call about this occurrence. New Hampshire is in the correct time zone to get the largest audience most immediately.

Clinton's stock is on the rise once again. Based on the dirty tricks the Clintons are known for it is not unreasonable to expect more such media events. It is easier to believe that the Clinton campaign deliberately stage this incident especially in light of the perpetrator's statement that had was compelled to act because he had no access to health care: a patent falsehood that fits in well with the campaign to socialize medicine in the United States.

Osama Bin Laden constantly claims sole credit for 9/11 and yet the 9?11 "Truthers" refuse to accept his word. How will they react to this claim about the Clinton campaign's responsibility for a fake hostage situation?

The Irrational Left: Confused and Feeling Abused

Following a bumper-stickered 10 year old Jeep Wrangler one might suppose it was being driven by a friend of the earth; if the publicly displayed thought can be believed. That is until the driver's window comes down and out comes a burning cigarette. The symptoms are classic.

All liberals are bleeding heart liberals at some level. Even when they claim to be conservative liberals their true colors are revealed as they explain how their view of family values, immigration, and defense of the nation. The essence of their arguments always return to objection to talk radio and their strict adherence to so-called " ancient American values". These people are in need of a new religion and have found it through Global Warming.

It is amazing how people who purport that Evolution is more than theoretically correct can reject the idea of a disinterested creator. Darwin, the original proponent of Evolution, was a devout Christian with capacity of imagination. If Evolution is correct then the idea of cyclical climate change as natural phenomenon follows logically.

Today more and more climate scientists are losing faith in the dogma promulgated by Pope Albert I. He is now calling for the abolition of opposing points of view or dissenting analysis of climate "data". This despite the fact that such data is sketchy at best and distorted at worst.

It is impossible to definitively ascribe climate change to human activity.

The Savage Nation

After many years of listening to Talk Radio, right and left, the conclusion I have reached is that Michael Savage is the most interesting, entertaining, least pretentious of the lot. Rush Limbaugh is brilliant but beats the horse to death hour by hour attempting to fill up the time. Sean Hannity is the worst when it comes to an exchange of ideas often shouting down his callers in a vain attempt to replace substance with noise.

Neal Boorts is probably the most reasonable, even he brooks no foolishness, and will at least listen to differing views. Michael Savage is in another class altogether. He does not mince words, is politically completely incorrect and often hilarious in his repartee'.

Liberal hosts a la Alan Combs and Alan Handleman are way too earnest and obvious in their attempts to out right the right on the left. Al Franken ( what is it with Al's?) is merely pedantic and lacks a sense of humor; very strange in a comedian.

Perhaps that lack of a sense of humor, absolute on the left, is the main reason for the success of the right leaning shows when compared to the ratings for the lefties. Even Sean Hannity has a sense of humor, though it can be difficult to detect at times. The apparent success formula in Talk Radio is to realize that all human beings are pretty much ridiculous and that life spans are short.

The obvious fear on the left of the right to free speech makes it clear that they are way to concerned with living forever. Why else the calorie police, the seat belt police, et al? In the minds of leftists there can be only one way to think: their way. All other thought must be stifled. Even Al Gore recently said that with regard to Global Warming the "Fair and Balanced" approach to discussion must be abandoned. He meant it.

As proponents of the evolution theory the left is self-contradictory. If evolution is true then survival of the fittest and natural selection obviate any need for regulation of human behavior with regard to choice of food, vices such as drinking and smoking, seat belt use etc. Let the worst of us die by our own choice. The joy of living is just that: living.

The New Look of The USA

Times are about to change in the United States of America. Should the expected Hillary Clinton presidency take place and the control of congress remaining with the Democrat party the stage will be set for the the greatest political, social, and financial changes in at least the last 70 years. The transformation of the US from a "Can Do" society to a "Take Care of Me" society will be getting started. The irony is that this change will be based on a "Fairness Doctrine" that will allow the super wealthy (Democrats and Republicans) will continue to enjoy their privileges and peruisites at the expense of the rest of society. The John Edwards idea of two societies will be brought to fruition, imaginary as it is at the moment.

It is likely that Constitutional changes will be made that will eliminate most of the Rights currently enjoyed by US citizens once the corrosive effects of socialism take hold. Today's wealthy actually feel that the minimum wage job holders are grateful for their jobs and don't aspire to a better life. That this is so for some seems to prove the rule for all others.

The only hope may rest in home schoolers, parachial schools and other institutions that don't sell the brand of social schemes espoused by the NEA et al.

The hypocrisy of the left is matched only by the cowardice on the right; not to mention blissful ignorance in the middle. It is very disappointing to those who have a view of pragmatic optimism as the behavior of unthinking liberal aherents run over any reasonable arguement.

Why The Democrats Accuse Bush of Dictatorship

As this year has passed the public have been treated to various instances of praise for Hugo Chavez, the soon to be dictator for life in Venezuela. Danny Glover, Sean Penn, Nancy Pelosi, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and other liberal luminaries have sung Chavez's praises. Yet Chavez is about to receive powers that will enable him to imprison critics without charges and for an indefinite period. Recently Robert Redford , during a speech in Italy, lamented the loss of personal freedoms in the United States.

While this behavior may not seem odd to many, it is revealing if considered in the context of liberal plans for the USA. Already at "elite" colleges and universities free speech is only allowed if the choir already agrees with the preacher. The "intellectual left" does not want to do much thinking. For this reason the left calls George Bush a dictator. In reality this is behavior projection, and unwitting at that.

When or if Hillary is elected president the change will be slow be inevitable. The Democrat Party will attempt to move in the direction of Venezuela, Cuba, and Putin's Russia. This may seem far fetched to most but it is true. Be wary and observe; all the Democrat leadership's actions since taking power have been the mirror image of what they have accused George Bush.

Bush is no prize but he is at least relatively honest. There is no integrity on display by the left in the US. Emotional outrage that their ideas are not accepted by all. This is the behavior of children and that is what the citizens of the Americas are up against. All the adults are going home and leaving the kids to demolish the playroom.

In the United States today not one right has been lost. In fact several have been invented e.g. the right to privacy, the right to abortion on demand and the right to health care. Since none of these "rights" are listed in the Constitution they have been deduced as inherent because a voting group wanted them.

Many of the protections under The Bill of Rights will be lost over the next twenty years or so, depending on how fast the liberal majority feels safe in moving. The fact is that the body politic is in decline and the possibility of Civil War is not inconceivable.

There's a New Pope In Town

Pope Albert I has arrived as the first pontiff of the world's newest religion: Global Warming. The Holy See is somewhere in the state of Tennessee in the USA, though Pope Albert I is frequently on the move in his Lear Jet. The Pope was elected in the normal manner, secret ballot, and was confirmed by the Nobel committee; something a little more unusual. Apparently the Nobel committee has usurped the place of the traditional College of Cardinals.

Global Warming as a creed is still developing but traces its origins to Germany in the early 1970's when the Green Party first emerged as a political force. The Green Gospel has been evolving, much as did the now archaic Christian, Judaic, and Muslim dogma proceeded centuries ago. As might be expected in the era of higher technology, that is relative to biblical times, the message and its development are gaining momentum as the former social ties to religion have frayed.

The new Pope and his followers however have revealed the banality of human nature. This new religion already has its proponents of inquisition and punishment. The rooting out of heretics is essential to the safety of the new religion. This was also the case of the old religions which frequently expressed this through the concepts of blasphemy and apostasy. Even today Islam attempts to maintain control of its adherence through the fatwa death sentence for those who raise doubts.

The call for disbarment of heretical meteorologists, college professors and any other dissident makes this comparison apt. The apparent vacuum left in the lives of those who have declared God to be dead has made it necessary to find something else to hold onto that requires faith.

The chance to rise through the episcopal ranks has reached the Hollywood elite, the heights of Eurotrash proponents, and every other opportunist who recognizes a chance to make a buck from the fears of the gullible. Every event on earth is directed by Global Warming in much the same way as the faithful were kept in check by disasters that were God's revenge for earthly sins.

Technology might advance but human nature evolution moves much more slowly. It is far easier to shrink atoms and use nano science than to get humankind to make an intellectual jump past dishonesty.

Of course the climate is changing. The moment the climate stops changing will signal the demise of the planet and most probably the solar system in which it revolves. The earth's climate is determined by numerous factors not the least of which is the heat of the sun. This temperature is currently at a high point in its normal cycle.

Beware Greeks bearing gifts is a good rule to live by when encountering Global Warming Evangelists; make no mistake that is what Pope Albert I and his acolytes are doing.

Global Warming Boredom

The only thing about predicting the weather is that it cannot be reliably forecast. All the hysteria about a ferocious hurricane season has turned out to be a flop. Farming in Greenland is back to normal, that is conditions that existed in the 14th century of a green and viable farmland with a temperate climate are back.

Some group is now offering a $100,000 prize for anyone who can scientifically prove that human activity and not the universe is causing "climate change". Of course there is climate change, always has been and always will be, and perhaps the increased number of living beings on the earth is having a minor impact but the simple rotation of the earth and the variations in proximity to other celestial bodies during its annual transit have a much greater and obvious one. Fluctuations in solar activity are also part of the cause of any change; the sun has been in a state of much greater radiation and heating during the past ten years. When this increase begins to decrease there will be another version of climate change: global cooling.

North Carolina, where this is being written, depends on hurricane season to make it through the summer without a devastating drought. No hurricanes means no rain, or at least not enough for gardens and farms to flourish. Like the Nile floods in Egypt the hurricanes in summer cause damage but bring renewable water resources in its place.

One can be forgiven for ignoring most of the babble from prognosticators for whom climate change is merely an opportunity to foster a political agenda. These governments and academic plodders want to pass laws to correct the life of the universe. What is really going on is an attempt to gain control over the masses; who obviously can not be trusted to live their lives wisely.

Already the results of various politically correct behaviors are having a negative effect. For example the "food police" have taken all the taste out of food. No fat means no taste. Yet obesity is a worse problem today than it was ten years ago and will continue to worsen. Most low fat foods have a large amount of sugar used to add taste or a reasonable facsimile thereof. There are many other examples of how life has changed for the worse thanks to "do-gooders".

Once the climate change gurus have their way human kind will be less free and less productive: but probably fatter.

Bridges to Nowhere

Hurtling through space in confusion is not the experience one expects to have while crossing a bridge on the way home. Alas as events in Minneapolis have shown such things might become more common. Those with existing bridge phobias, and there are many, feel a little less crazy at the moment.

The reaction of the media, congress, and the general public is a bit puzzling since the problems with the infrastructure of the United States have been remarked upon many times in the past 30 years or so. What is the surprise? For many years the bridges in major American cities have been the subject of concern and derision. As an example Manhattan's 59th Street Bridge was falling apart in the mid-1980s as were other spans around the country. Some bridges had maintenance stepped up or resumed. Many cities has postponed the work to save money, or rather apply the funds to vote getting projects like welfare.

Maintenance is not glamorous or interesting, even though it does require workers thereby creating jobs; something one would imagine even politicians would notice. The preference is to build new bridges like the new Ted Stevens bridge in Alaska. This 250 million dollar project connects an obscure island to the mainland allowing its 50 residents access during the summer. In winter they cross over the frozen lake so it is only a part time bridge. It's possible that the money could have been spent more wisely elsewhere but Stevens called in favors and got his way. The public has the right to expect that structures paid for with tax dollars should stand the test of time. In Europe there are bridges and tunnels that have been in constant use for more than 2000 years, why can't the US build them to last at least 200 years? Corruption in public works is endemic of course, so much so that it has become a joke. It's hard to laugh when someone is killed because someone else wants to get rich.

What can be expected in the after math of the I-35 bridge collapse? Most likely there will be hearings, blame assignment, promises, outrage, and then a return to the status quo until the next disintegration; which will probably sooner than one expects.

The new "Hawkish Dove" Barack Obama has left his nest and squawked out his intentions. Apparently stung by Mrs. Bill Clinton's comments which pointed out his naivete and lack of "gravitas", Obama outlined his new strategy for peace. This daring plan calls for the immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and their reassignment as invaders of Pakistan.

Of course the left leaning NPR media embraced his remarks as "strong" and predicted that Mrs. Bill Clinton will have to say something similar as the Democrats are known to be weak on national defense. Being weak on national defense is one thing but the call for an invasion of an ally on the simple basis that that ally is not capable of controlling its own territory is something else and something quite new for the United States.

Further the children now in charge of the Democrat Party and the US Congress are playing romper room with the nation's ability to detect terror plots against the homeland and other places. The Bush administration has been begging for a FISA court procedural streamlining for months. The Democrats have been foot dragging at the behest of the ACLU, MoveOn.Org, and others whose whining complaints border on the ludicrous. Now, on the verge of their aptly named summer recess, the Democrat leadership is willing to work on passing the necessary changes. Work, not promise to change. The impetus for this course correction is the fear that an attack might occur during their recess period and the blame would fall on them for failing to make intelligence gathering and sharing less difficult.

There is a fly in the ointment though. The sticking point is Alberto Gonzales and his role as attorney general in obtaining future wiretap warrants. Apparently the caveat is the Mr. Gonzales may not do his constitutional job if the Democrats are to fix the existing system. The Kindergarten Cops of the Democrat Party are going to take their ball and go home if they can't have their way. These people can not be trusted to protect the nation.

The ultra (loony) left actually believe that if Islam should succeed in its goal of world domination they would be spared. This collection of infidels which includes adulterers, atheists, pedophiles, drunks, drug users, and the rest will be the first to go. There will be no love only convert or die.

Barack Obama now has no chance of being nominated as the Democrat Party presidential candidate. He had only a slim one to begin with. Charges of US racism have been leveled at the Republican electorate, but only Democrats can nominate for their party. Does this mean that if they fail to nominate Barack that Democrats are racists?

The controversy over Iraq is beginning to resemble a Kafka novel. One may fairly imagine the members of the looney left wondering just what their lives mean. After basking in the election results, unreasonably, they flexed their muscles and bullied the Democrat Party leadership into heading for the precipice. Yesterday a notable shift began.

The main allies of the uber liberals is the print media and some television outlets. These friends have begun to shift away from defeat by proxy in Iraq and now realize the imminent danger to the Democrat Party such a result would present. Of course Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi don't get it because they need the money provided by the slobbering masses of MoveOn.Org and the Daily Kos. The brilliant people on the left are apparently self diagnosed as their is no evidence that they are able to communicate their ideas and emotions in any civil fashion. Their behavior continues to resemble toddlers. One can only hope that they will hold their breath and turn blue.

So now with the "surge" succeeding the howls of pain are related to the politic situation. This is of course natural and reasonable. The Iraqi Shia want revenge, a time honored behavior in Islam, and will string out reconciliation as long as possible. Apparently the Sunnis are waking up to the fact that if the US leaves they will be exterminated by their peace loving Islamic brethren. So cooperation with allied forces and rejection of Al Qeada has become a worthy strategy. Some of the more mature left wingers realize this too and want to avoid being blamed for the genocide that will follow their recommended course of action.

The middle and right wing of American politics must not deride this return to rationality by some members of the left. Rather it must be welcomed as a unifying act on the part of fellow citizens and a hopeful sign that the United States will preserve its interests without further damaging its influence.

Russ Feingold is a brilliant man, this is known to be true because Harry Reid has said so. Feingold qualifications include a Rhodes Scholarship, a Harvard degree, and membership in the US Senate; so far so good. He is also a member of the Democrat Party which brings into question his ethics if not his IQ. Basically Russ Feingold is a demagogue in every sense of the word.

His statements are quite revealing as is his proposal to censure President Bush through a senate resolution. The so called illegal wire taps that provide surveillance of calls from foreign countries are his main issue. The other seems to be outrage that such a stupid person as George Bush was able to dupe the entire Democrat Party into going to war in Iraq. Feingold knows these accusations are baseless which is why he is grandstanding the censure motion.

He and his comrades love to use the phrase that the American People are outraged and that they, the Democrat Party, are the only true representatives of the public. While patently and clearly not true the Democrats are making themselves believe it.

Apparently they cannot be counted on to protect the nation from terrorists if they do not want to listen in to enemy phone calls. Of course the Democrats don't believe that there is a threat or that one will exist subsequent to the end of military action in Iraq. It is difficult to believe that adult citizens of the United States can truly be so naive; rather it is wishful thinking derived from fear.

Feingold, Pelosi, Reid, et al should lead the nation instead of following George Soros. The Democrat Party has disappeared and been replaced by something unknown but recognizable.

The recent controversy about Keith Ellison's diatribe against President Bush missed the point completely. The fact that a Democrat, ultra-liberal, MoveOn.Org type would bash the president is not a news story or even remarkable. What is amazing about this incident is that Keith Ellison claims to be a convert to Islam. Why is that something to raise eyebrows?

The occasion of Ellison's "stinging" anti-Bush comments was a meeting of atheists to which Ellison had been invited to speak; he of course accepted. In Islam the most serious capital crime, of which there are many, is Atheism. The punishment of a revealed atheist is immediate death and is the obligation of any and all Muslims to carry out. It is bad enough to be a Muslim in a world the Allah has allowed the presence of billions of infidels to persist, but to have a believer address a group of atheists in the United States is enough to have the prophet wondering how his instructions could be so distorted.

The Koran encourages tolerance of infidels if they adhere to the instructions found in the Holy Bible. The preference is that all non-Muslims convert to Islam. The dream is that the near future will bring such mass conversions or mass killings of infidels. Keith Ellison is obviously some sort of apostate as he is willing to associate with people who constantly affront Allah and the Prophet.

This situation also illustrates the hypocrisy of American atheists in particular and atheists in general as well. The well known contretemps about Ellison being sworn in using the Koran was silly, but to atheists should have been anathema. Yet here they are having wine and cheese while Ellison condemns the US and the president. There is no problem with atheism in the Democrat party as the leadership considers any religious person naive and dangerous. Religion is just another tool in the box for the Democrats and Ellison's behavior illustrates this perfectly.

Recently controversies have been raging over a variety of subjects, what's the point of it all? The one idea running through all the outrage being expressed is the frustration of ultra liberals that some Americans object to the liberal agenda. The idea that Scooter Libby is somehow cheating the liberals of a surrogate jailbird is just plain silly. Bill Clinton and Sandy Berger lied about their actions; one under oath, the other a federal investigator. Their punishment, suspended law license in the former case and probation for the latter. Scooter Libby was caught up in a witch hunt about a crime that never was. Is this the American Way of Justice?

Now it's back to get out of Iraq. A bigger mistake is not possible at this time. The very fact that Cindy Sheehan thinks she can intimidate Nancy Pelosi demonstrates the foolish lack of thought behind the "anti-war" movement. There is no such movement but rather a smokescreen of maniacal opposition to George Bush's presidency. Admittedly George has failed to live up to his potential and is actually closer to liberals than he is to conservatives. Should the US pull out of Iraq it would validate Bin Laden's assertion that America won't fight that the nation has no stomach for defense. Further it would lead to another Shiite controlled Islamic state, the other being Iran. Why would that be a problem? The other Islamic states are primarily Sunni based, a strong Shiite militarily powerful state would probably lead to civil war and force drilling for oil in ANWAR.

Arabs (Muslims) respect only force as that is their only experience of relating to the world. The very basis of Islam is that any non-believer is an infidel and once the opportunity to embrace Islam is refused such a person must be killed. That is the long and the short of it. This kind of thinking is unfamiliar to "Westerners" because civilization is the hallmark of peaceful people. There is a constant reminder that philosophically Islam is a religion of peace and that life is sacred. There is constant evidence that this philosophy does not apply to non-Muslims or even certain Muslims within the Islamic family. Go figure.

Ah Homeland Security, the panacea that veils the true weakness and vulnerability of the United States. After the recent effort to grant amnesty to at least 12 million illegal immigrants failed, Michael Chertoff ruefully concluded that he would have to enforce laws currently on the books. What a completely lame performance. Prior to the legislative loss the public had been informed that such actions were not feasible.

The real danger is that the current border situation has made it possible for terrorists to enter the US and simply bide their time. This is the reason for Chertoff's recent "gut attack". No attacks for more than five years is a situation that is about to change in a major way. The obvious targets are everywhere: shopping malls, office buildings, petroleum storage areas, etc. All are vulnerable because citizens of the US are being led to believe that there is no war on terrorism and even if there were one the government is all knowing and protective.

The What Me Worry attitude is one that most people ignore but should probably adopt as a way of coping with their lives. The constant bombardment by various forms of media and activist groups raising awareness of problems the aren't really problems is enough to drive anyone crazy. Climate change, is it a problem? The answer is not only no but it is a normal phenom onmen that occurs to the earth as it travels around the sun hurtling through cold dark space. If the climate didn't change there would be no human beings around today to worry about what is going to happen to the weather in 500 years.

Overweight, so what? The food police excuse their behavior with the dismissive " We only want you to be healthy" as if it is really their responsibility to worry about anyone but themselves. If people want to eat themselves to death as a means of finding happiness then let them. What is more annoying to a "Just do as I say"?

Illegal immigration, why is this a problem? Let'em in a make them speak English. No bilingual society is needed. Go to Europe and find out which language is spoken where. There are no special arrangements made for tourists or immigrants. Speak my language or else.

Hyphenated citizen's; what's the point? Heritage is one thing but keep it private; no parades please. Who really cares if one person is Latvian-American and another is Irish-American? Getting a job is much more important to one's well being. Winning the lottery wouldn't hurt either.

Don Imus, another wasted chance. Freedom of speech is wonderful just let them keep talking and let them reveal how stupid they are. Rosie O'Donnell is a prime example that one needn't be intelligent to get noticed. The fans of such individuals are on the same neanderthal level as their idols, again so what? It's obvious that the average human being is actually quite a bit below average in every category that counts.

A New Religion?

Rush Limbaugh has characterized the adherents of the Climate Change Panic as members of a new religion. Is he correct? If one thinks of the current craziness in terms of a primordial time then yes it might be an accurate description of events. It has long been held that religions emerged as a way of explaining the terrifying and wonderful events that occurred in the lives of pre-historic and then historical known cultures. Floods, storms, forest fires, plains fires, droughts, were all ascribed to various gods even to the extent of naming the particular fire-god et al.

Later of course a single god emerged from the crowd as sophistication and political expediency demanded a match between religion and secular life. Only Judaism and Islam have only one god, Christianity has three (albeit inhabiting one god body) which makes it a throwback to paganism; a corruption of Judaism as it was absorbed by the Romans. What makes the current religion or cult of climate change any different?

Thanks to the amount and immediacy of news coverage events seem more important now than they ever were. Contributing to the panic is the relative shortness of human lives;especially relative to geologic time. Most people living today seem to think that floods, droughts, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc have only begun to occur since their own birth. Just today news viewers are being treated to the horror of Greensberg, Kansas which was destroyed by a tornado on Friday. Yet during the coverage it was barely reported that it has been nearly 60 years since a similar event occurred. The populists of climate change will claim that the force of the tornado was caused by Global Warming.

The self-appointed high priests of Climate Change preach a do as I say, not as I do theology. As in any religion the ultimate goal is control of the members. The Al Gore's, Laura David, and Sheryl Crow's of this movement consume large amounts of energy through the use of private jets, large vehicles, gigantic houses that suck up electricity while admonishing the rest of the world to conserve.

This religion even has its own set of indulgences: the carbon offset credit. All energy consumption sins are forgiven by the purchase of a carbon offset; which in itself is nothing more than a modern version of the Emperor's New Clothes. Carbon offsets were originally developed as a loophole for energy producers to avoid penalties for not reaching the anti-pollution targets. In the beginning power company A could purchase government tax credits from power company B. This helped A when it didn't want to spend capital upgrading its plant. Power company B got credit for doing so and allowed to sell credits to earn income.

Now the situation is taking on the trappings of mysticism and morality plays. Like pieces of the true cross or saints bones movies, books, and songs are being published and distributed to hype the idea that climate change is real and that mankind is to blame. Nothing could be more ridiculous given the size of even Earth's small universe. The Climate Change Pope, Al Gore, is being anointed in the form of a Nobel Prize nomination. When it comes to Global Warming there is a pressing need for more atheists.

Liberal Outrage Over VT Shooting

If the situation weren't so difficult the liberals reaction to this shooting would be laughable. Chris Matthews made a statement last night that was so ridiculous that is was stunning in its arrogance. "Its as easy to buy a gun in Virginia as it is to buy a pizza." What a pompous ass, though the obvious needs no reiteration. The larger question is what are these media hotheads upset about?

These are the same self-appointed geniuses who support all forms of abortion including partial birth abortions. They oppose the possession of firearms by anyone but themselves. Again this is the Platonic legacy discussed a couple of days ago. Only the superior are able to govern others and further they shall not be subject to criticism rather they will do the commentary themselves about others.

This column does not support the death penalty; instead it proposes the building of enormous, remotely situated prisons where those convicted of murder may be housed until their richly deserved deaths. This plan would actually be a living death as no contact with the outside world would be permitted and no parole possible.

The shootings at Virginia Tech is a symptom of a self- indulgent culture. It is a culture that makes possible the consideration of taking one's own misery out on others. Suicide is every one's option but the self serving murder of others and then killing one's self is cowardly and despicable. Yet soon there will be books, movies, and perhaps recording glorifying such and act.

Today the US Supreme court outlawed partial birth abortion; undoubtedly the talking heads will be out in full force. Their only problem will be deciding when to go after guns or after the supreme court.

Plato would have a lot to answer for should he still be living. His ideas have reached through the ages and find themselves alive and well in today's liberal antics.

Plato posited the theory that while all citizens are useful to the state only a certain few were worthy of ruling. These few, harking back to Plato's own family of dictators, were the elite of society; cultured, educated, wealthy, intellectual and above the fray when it came to physical work. If this sounds familiar it is because that is the mantra of the Democrat party today. From John Kerry , Ted Kennedy, to Hillary Clinton the idea is that the ordinary American is too stupid to be trusted with government. Only the Democrats and their lackeys are considered fit to function.

This ideology is nothing new Platonism spawned monarchies, oligarchies, communism, Nazism, fascism, and now modern liberal thought and action. Plato thought that any art that criticized the governing class should be banned on the grounds that such criticism is inherently subversive. Today's liberals feel the same way: there can be no argument with their ideas because, as superior individuals, they are naturally correct and can not be wrong.

This approach to governance is the same as Marxism et al with only minor variations. This is the reason that the loss of the Presidency in 2000 was deemed illegal; no party is allowed to exercise power except the Democrat Party. Confusion reigned as the lower classes usurped the logical, rightful rulers. In 2007 it appears that the universe is about to right itself as Hillary Clinton seems destined for the presidency.

It is well to remember that most of the failed dictatorships in the 20th century all had the word Democratic in there somewhere; The Democratic Peoples Republic of Germany as an example. The electorate should be wary of such titles which quietly delude people into thinking of a participatory government. Today's Democrats are Orwellian in their use of doublespeak demanding their right to be heard while stifling all other debate.

It's All Very Tiring

The recent uproar over Don Imus is rather silly. Where was the outrage when Richard Pryor jump started this downward spiral? It's sad but true that the average person thinks the world began when they were born; most people have no sense of historical or social perspective. Before Richard Pryor got going the most outlandish humorist was Lenny Bruce and he was hounded to his death because of his views.

After Richard Pryor got started the floodgates opened spewing foul language, racial and ethnic slurs from such notables as Eddie Murphy, Cedric the Entertainer, Chris Rock and a multitude of lesser lights. Oh the jokes were hilarious especially if you enjoy the terms nigger, bitch, ho, cracker, spick, and sexual references. Very funny indeed.

Of course hip hop lyrics were the next logical progression so why not? Things got so out of hand that Al and Tipper Gore, (remember Al Gore) got legislation passed that required warning labels on records and CDs. That was during the 1980s; my how time flies. Was this condition of American culture simply a result of outrage against the conditions of virtual apartheid that existed well into the 1970's? Such a thing might be expected after a couple of centuries of slavery and repression, but if it is the case how does one explain the acceptance of Emimim?

Don Imus is an idiotic badly behaved person whom society rewarded handsomely for being exactly that. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are basically extornists and self appointed world representatives of the African-American component of the United States. They have no shame and very little personal morality based on their public behavior. The majority of the US is afraid to confront these two clownish actors because whites cannot criticize blacks. As an example take the recent Duke Lacrosse team fiasco in Durham, North Carolina. Jackson and Sharpton were in the vanguard of the virtual lynching of the accused, a nice irony, and now that the entire case has been shown to be a complete lie they refuse to apologize for their actions and comments. Why is this the case?

Most likely it will take many more years for the racist social wounds to heal in the USA but at least some are trying; though the "Black leadership" is not among them. Hurricane Katrina is blamed on George Bush; Ray Nagin is not assigned any responsibility for his failure to lead his city. The majority of black politicians are quick to play the race card to absolve themselves from simple human failures when they are caught.

It is not all right for one African-American to call another African-American a nigger. This expression is common; so much so that it goes practically unnoticed. This acceptance of demeaning speech within the "hood" and the use of the "race card" robs the African-American population of its humanity, reducing them to mere cartoon characters. This is the true tragedy of the Don Imus case.

This is a liberal problem you will never hear a conservative talk show host use language of this sort.

Conspiracy Theories and Political Damage

How to comprehend the apparent insanity of the conspiracy theories on the left, and to a limited extent on the right? The best way of course is in the context of psychiatric treatment for those that espouse such nonsense. From another view there is the clear assumption that those who spout these ideas are not only confused but imbued with the feeling that as they are superior beings, the rest of the population is simply in the dark.

Of course the real purpose of such prattlings is to do political damage to the Bush Administration and to present the Democrat or liberal ideas as reasonable. But does this actually work? The 9/11 attack came roughly nine months after Bush's inauguration; was that time enough to put such a plan in place and execute it? The basis for the theories is apparently the failure of the building materials to withstand the severe heat of the fire engendered by the fuel explosion. This from the same people who espouse radical climate change ideas; putting forth the proposition that building materials used in the 1970's should remain immutable against extreme heat in 2001. One has to wonder about the competence of such individuals.

Further should one take seriously the idea that the United States Government is at the bottom of the attack then one must look at the Clinton Administration as the culprit. This of course is ridiculous but using the logic of the theorists certainly apt. For years the public has been treated to the idea of the stupidity and incompetence of the Bush administration; it is liberal dogma that the Republicans are completely incapable of rational action or successful completion of any project. Only liberals and democrats are capable of such acts.

This being so where then can the blame lie for the 9/11 attacks if not at the hands of Al-Queada? Logically the only force able to plan and execute such a complex action was the Clinton White House. Were the documents destroyed by Sandy Berger the actual planning documents? Was Al Gore to use these attacks as a way of apologizing to the Islamofascists for the "excesses" of the United States? Arthur Schulzberger jr. made such a statement to college students at a commencement address this year. Schulzberger is the publisher and owner of the New York Times newspaper and certainly not a fan of the USA.

Those who would absolve Bin Laden, even after his admission, are simply too childish to realize the full implications of their ideas. Only their chosen representatives would have the intelligence, the time, and the motive to cause such a disaster. Liberals like to think of themselves as worldly but in fact they are incredibly naive and unaware of the rest of the world.
The Hollywood nuts can be forgiven simply enough on the basis of the heavy medication most of them are on. What Rosie and Martin must be taking would embarrass Rush Limbaugh.

Rosie O'Donnell is the best example of stupidity being paid for stirring the pot. Unfortunately it appears that Rosie actually believes what she says. Her latest foray into the world of original ideas is that terrorists shouldn't be feared because they are mothers and fathers too. This is on top of her assertion that the United States Government is responsible for the attack on the world trade center and that the Iranian abduction of British military personnel is somehow similar to the Gulf of Tonkin Incident.

One might agree on a certain level that terrorists are not to be feared, a certain wariness is appropriate, but any terrorist caught in the act should be killed; mother or father notwithstanding. Fearing terrorism gives it a partial victory ignoring it or pretending terrror is without malevolence is stupid. Rosie O'Donnell and Martin Sheen are prime examples of the shallowness and downright gullibility of people who are insulated from reality by their warped egos and synchophantic lives.

Even the admission of the actual planner of the World Trade Operation and that of Bin Laden as the excutioner has fallen on deaf ears in LA LA Land. These are the people that the voters of the United States want to lead the nation what a joke. These are the same type of believers who sell all their posessions and head for the mountain top waiting for the end of the world. Climate change, conspiracy theories, tremendous rage and hatred for their fellow citizens, coupled with severe national inferiority complex are the hall marks of today's liberals.

Visit any liberal blog and you will find regurgitated opinion from the likes of Bill Maher, Al Frankenheimer, et al, expressed using profanity and hopes for the deaths of fellow human beings. All this from those who profess to only love and have no experience with hate yet they wish for the deaths of Tony Snow, Dick Cheney, and George Bush.

Their lack of substantive thought is masked, in their minds, by the shrillness of expression. Sound and fury but no light.

Can any day in recent memory be more joyful to the left wing crazies? Today is their RED LETTER Day. Scooter Libby, former attorney for Marc Rich, was convicted on four out of five counts of obstruction of justice. Of course the media and the Democrats have construed this as a condemnation of the Iraq war, as if they needed another one, and have exalted Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilson.

Forget the facts of the matter, that Richard Armitage outed Valerie (Plame) Wilson and that there was no case to pursue. Rather use the logic of Joseph Goebbels and tell the biggest lie possible guaranteeing that at least part of it will be accepted by the gullible general public. The American public is the biggest loser as the justice system continues to take hits to its credibility.

One might be reminded of 15th and 16th Royal Houses of Europe when considering the current state of politics in the United States. Certainly there are no dynasties, well except for the Clinton and Bush ones, but today's politicians are more concerned with jailing their opposition than actually proposing some solutions for the real problems facing the nation. It is doubtful that George Bush will have the courage to pardon Mr. Libby as he has apparently completely lost his way.

The lunacy evidenced in American political life might be dispriting if not for the literary history of the nation. From Mark Twain to H.L. Mencken we are assured that things might be more obvious but not so different today. The uber libs are juvenile delingquents in their behavior. Asserting their moral and intellectual superiority while publicly wishing for the death of another human being and fellow citizen; Dick Cheney. At the same time one of the left wing gods, George Soros, is investing millions in shares of Halliburton. He now owns two percent of the company. It might be supposed that his actions are for the good of the company and not simply to recoup the millions he lost supporing MoveOn.org.

The nation is indeed adrift with no reasonable leader emerging on either side of the spectrum. Hillary is attempting to be blacker than Obama while he is trying to simply be black. What a world.

Examination of that claim barely stands up, though some irrelevant parrallels might be drawn. Fascism has become a buzz word for anyone who may oppose or disagree with the loony left, or even the not so loony left; but what is it?

Fascism was founded by Benito Mussolini in Italy during the early 20th century. Originally a Marxist, Mussolini became disenchanted with Soviet communism soon after the First World War. His party, the Fascists sometimes known as the Black Shirts, succeeded to power through the electoral process. This was the model Adolf Hitler would follow a decade later. The Italian Fascists were considered right wing because Mussolini disapproved of the Marxist model this corruption of language persists to this day. The Fascists take their name from a symbol of ancient Rome the fasces which is two bundles of wood faced by two wood axes.

The Fascists in Rome, Germany, and Spain were essentially socialists and demanded that the individual link his identity with that of the state. This is sometimes called "corporateism" from the root corporeal or body. This linkage eliminates capitalism which is a celebration of individualism making Fascism itself a rather weak version of Marxism. Fascists and Communists became deadly enemies not over ideology but for political power.

In Russia this power resulted in the deaths of some 30 million citizens starved as their farms and produce were seized to feed the workers in Stalins industrialization effort. In Germany this power resulted in the deaths of 6 million Jews, mostly Polish, and hundreds of thousands of others. Italian Fascism became the model corporate state where everything worked except the people, its national ambitions resulted in the subjugation of Eithopia in an attempt to reestablish the Roman Empire.

Spain became the battle ground for these competing states with Russia supporting the Spanish communists (ironically known as Republicans) while Germany and Italy supported Franco their dictatorial comrade in arms. Thus came about the left vs. right paradigm.

In the US today the left are still communists cum socialists whose modern heros are Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton; all Marxists of the first water. So here come the attacks on their opponents using pejoratives without thinking. It is apparently a must that any Republican leader is a direct if not genetic descendant of Adolf Hitler: a misnomer if ever there was one. Flailing out with accusations does not make the accusation true or even worthy of consideration.

The latest shot is a book claiming to document the case against evangelical Christians as Fascists. This column has accused certain Muslims of Islamofascism and here is why. Fascism as a corporate or single body ideology demands that the individual give himself for the group and that the group or corporation is the highest manifestion of that particular ideology. In this regard all religions are fascist in nature as they are all socialistic in nature.

Shared values are not always those of violence and that is where the distinction and the differences part ways. The Soviet Union, Italy, Germany, and Islam assert their right to conquer those infidels that get in the way of righteousness, the Motherland, the Fatherland, or whatever symbol is needed to motivate the cannon fodder.

The American left is so morally destitute that today they cannot distingquish between Fidel and Hugo's ruinous grip on their countries from the freedoms enjoyed in the United States. It's too bad that these people have never had to fight for the freedoms they enjoy, but it is also wonderful that they had the choice.

The Problem With Lineal Thinking

Lineal thinking is a common fault among human beings. The reason is quite simple; no real thought is required. This phenomenom is manifested by sports writers, liberals, some conservatives, and it is particularly true of those who espouse "Global Warming" as truth. Lineal thinking makes upsets in sports possible, at least in terms of predictions, as forecasters invariably rely on the teams with the most "rings" as favorites. This method ignores the natural progression of gain and loss by franchises which frequently renders the number of past championships irrelevant.

In politics lineal thinking is best demonstrated by the continued endorsement of failed Marxist ideas by the political left. These people feel guilty because they have prosperity, mostly unearned, and don't want to face the"poor". The idea that every one is created equal in terms of ability and intellect is patently false and not really believed by those who spout such ideals. Equality begins and ends at the starting gate, the race will go to those who are prepared and skilled.

As for "Global Warming" the idea is so fatuous that on this morning's news shows the weather is the predominant story. The snow, in winter, is a large surprise. The polar ice packs' expansion is a mystery to liberals, but not to those who expect it every winter, and the antarctic's freezing seems to confuse the theorists. Nature is not a constant except that it is constantly changing. It is a problem for those who think things should remain the same as their lives are the only ones that count despite the preceeding milennia.

The original idea behind climate change was a hypothesis that wondered about the impact of hydroflurocarbons on the ozone. Now it is a full blown hoax with a thousand year timeline that makes it impossible to measure in the current human life span. Al Gore is a charlatan of the first water as is Jimmy Carter with George Bush coming in a close third. None of these individuals could care less about their fellow man; only their self agranddisement matters.

The lemmings that make up most of the world's population get what they voted for so no complaints are accepted here.

Seeking Equilibrium

The human race is always seeking equilibrium. This means that most people want little or no change in their lives. The primary example today is the mass hysteria called Global Warming. Yesterday the UN, the world arbiter of ethics and intellect, issued a report stating that there is a 90% possiblity that global warming or climate change is caused by human activity. While this assertion won't pass the laugh test it is being taken seriously by those who prefer to live in fear rather than enjoy the short life span allotted to all.

On top of the ridiculous weeping and gnashing of teeth, Al Gore has been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize further trivializing such institutions. The most telling aspect of the UN declaration is the "90% possibility" which means that there is still much uncertainty regarding the existence of the situation. How many people would travel aboard an airplane with only a 90% possiblity of a safe landing? Do the math. If only 90% of daily aircraft take off and landings were the case then there would be 100,000 crashes out of every 1 million operations.

The most insulting part of the entire controversy is the idea that 6 billion human beings can have a larger impact on the universe than any other consideration. The UN panel predicts another 1000 years of climate warming yet the daily weather can not be forecast with much accuracy. The local weather yesterday and today was supposed to be heavy snow and ice with freezing rain. It did flurry and rain but no ice.

Because humans don't live very long there is a tendency to think the present is the past and future. As the earth cycles around the sun it is not in a static environment. The sun gets warmer and cooler, volcanoes erupt, the earth is either closer or further away from the sun's influence, the moon exerts a pull on the earth's oceans. All of these phenomena are natural and cause change on the earth. Climate will only continue for a thousand year if the earth explodes, or is destroyed by a meteor shower or some or silly proposition. Otherwise climate change will continue forever; warming and cooling.

Time For Marches

Anyone observing the "Peace" demonstrations or rallies this weekend could only be struck by the small number of participants, the relative agedness and the same old tired leadership. Of course there were the usual rowdies who follow such events when there are no tail gate parties happening. The expected terrorist wannabes, with ski masks cloaking their identities, marching in ragged formation like some romper room Hamas members made their appearance.

It is dispiriting to see such activities promoted with so little originality; even down to spitting on a disabled soldier. These people are stuck in a time warp so vague that they have no real notion of what they are about. The old "hippies" are still protesting against Vietnam and the draft; both Democrat Party boondogles. They accuse the present government of lying to get into war when that is actually what President Johnson did with the Gulf of Tonkin resolution. They want to "bring our soldiers home where they will be safe" as the spit on the soldiers who do come home. This is a famous Vietnam era tactic to shame "baby killers". Demonstrators for Peace think nothing of destroying property or injuring others in the quest for an existenial answer. Even bringing back Jane Fonda won't make life more real, but rather surreal.

Jane Fonda, a traitor of the first water, is now feeling forgiven; but she never can or will be. During the 1960's high school graduates, boys of 18, and men from 20 to 36 could be and were drafted to fill the US military's ranks. Kennedy, and Johnson thought nothing of using this tool as an instrument of policy it was natural. The early protests, while vocal were small until Dr. King lent his moral authority to the fray. At that point the civil rights and anti war forces were joined bringing all social types together. The Vietnam war like the Iraq war was fought politically with an effort to be sensitive about killing or injuring civilians. Nothing could be worse for winning a war.

So today the world is treated to spectacle of destructive, rude, poorly educated masses demonstrating their lack of manners and intellect in a pathetic effort to prove that they are alive. This is analagous to PETA protecting animals while killing them in secret.

Global Warming or Climate Change

This blog is fulfilling its mission as it is disturbing some, and provoking thought in others. The fact that scientific consensus is not science does not deter the adherents of so called global warming. That this is a topic near and dear to many is not surprising everyone needs a reason to get up in the morning, liberals more than most, so this "science" is as good as the next thing. Perhaps the homeless advocates would prefer a warmer environment for their clients but it just isn't going to happen.

In the United States the population lost its raison d'etre during the 1960's. During that time controls were loosened to the extent that the need for them was lost. Today on the Laura Ingraham program was a lost soul from that period. Still hating her country still hoping for a Marxist solution to her life. The top ten polluted spots on earth are in Russia, China, India, and the Czech Republic of which only Russia is a Kyoto signatory. Sign anything but give them nothing seems to be the motto of the former Soviet Union; don't be surprised if like AT&T they reclaim their satellites.

One reader commented that today's global warming cannot be compared to the end of the Ice Age. Why not? Is it possible that natural processes stop just because the uber-gauche prefer that this should be the case? Of course today's warming trend is a continuation of what occurred 18,000 years ago if it weren't we would be experiencing global cooling (which was predicted by climatologists during the 1980s). Without doubt humankind is having an impact on the trend there are more people and animals breathing than ever before.

It cannot be known until after the fact if the current accelerated warming trend will be bad or good. What is known is that consensus science is purely theoretical and not axiomatic

Pilgrims Progress

This will be an ongoing discussion published from time to time until Islam takes over completely and all such publication is stopped. Just kidding, in keeping with the last article about Islamofascist pilgrims. They are making progress against the civilization and culture of the infidels. An example of this is the recent that the Chinese government has made regarding the New Year. For the first time in recorded history a chinese government, be it imperial, warlord, or communist, has deferred to a cultural sub-set within its borders.

This is the Year of the Pig, one of the chinese astrological signs that rotate as annual designations, and because Muslims consider the pig unclean no special reference or celebration is permitted in China this year. Earlier the point was made that these pioneering Muslims are finding themselves in a precarious position but are determined to bring the infidels home to Allah or kill them.

When considering the Chinese government's concession to Islam one must consider the numbers. More than a billion people consider themselves Chinese citizens living in China. Even if there were 200 million Muslims, which there are not, the number would still be small, even minute. So what is the government afraid will happen? This decision to down play the Year of the Pig is a major action. These annual designations have been in place for all of Chinese history, which in itself is considerable and much older than Islam. It is now likely that the pig will be completely displaced and some other animal will take its place.

What other changes are in store for those who will not take a stand and fight for their own cultural heritage. Will National Islamic Television have special months like National Christian Culture Month to remind its viewers of the contributions Christianity made even if Christianity has been made irrelevant?

Modern Day Pilgrims

One might consider today's Islamofascist immigrants, legal and illegal, as modern day pilgrims. Once they reach the shores of Europe, South America, Asia, and the United States they survey the territory with hope and dismay. All around them they see abundance and opportunity all provided for them by Allah. They also see this abundance in the possession of infidels; an insult to Allah and Islam. Beyond that these infidels are barbarians in need of conversion to Islam so that their souls might be saved.

All around these brave immigrants are examples of murder, abortion, drunkeness, incest, profanity, adultery, homosexuality, disrepect of men by women, women brazenly exposing their flesh, pornography, and the list goes on the primary offense being a lack of true faith. Is it such a surprise that these pioneers would take it upon themselves to subjugate the land and bring its inhabitants into the true faith? The methods are irrelevant because the end is so just. Why should infidels be so blessed when Allah's children are often poverty stricken? Why should true believers suffer at the hands of savages? The obvious answer is that Allah has led them to the promised land and it is their obligation to take it in hand.

This is the reason for rapid mosque and madrasa construction around the world, in particular Europe and the United States. It is the reason money is sent to the Old Country to fund new immigration and weapons for use against the savages who refuse to convert. It is the reason that Muslim women police officers in England refuse to shake hands with the male chief during a graduation ceremony as it violates the tenets of the true faith. Pioneers in the wilderness must endure considerable hardships; and today's Islamic pilgrims are no exception.

In today's world the savages have a chance to present a united front but it seems likely that the same political problems that beset the Native American population will also weaken or destroy today's natives. During the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries the Native Americans were unable to overcome their own internal disputes to expel the Christian invaders. So might it be in a disunited America each province embracing differing ideas of what makes the nation.

One thing is certain the Islamofacists are united, determined, and will persevere.

Al Gore and the Danes

In today's Wall Street Journal a couple of Danish newspaper editors describe their attempt to interview Al Gore while he is in Denmark promoting his ridiculous agenda. Global warming is a good thing; if not for global warming 10,000 years ago there wouldn't be much of a discussion today.

The Journal article points out, from an expert point of view, the weakness of Gore's argument: to whit it is basically a lie. So much is made of scientific consensus, something that is not science only theory, upon which the world is to base its social and economic decisions. During the recent past, say the 14th century, the consensus among scientists was that the earth was flat and was at the center of the universe. It is well to reflect on the impact of consensus as reality when considering one's own opinion.

Al Gore is a phony as is the liberal arguments about global warning; even the hated UN agrees with that last assertion. Liberal environmental arguments have devastated the African continent where since the banning of DDT deaths from malaria exceed 2 million people a year.
Tuberculosis is rampant as is AIDS; which may a viral mutation of some other species yet unknown.

Americans are easily stampeded because the gene that promotes critical thinking seems to be spread rather thinly throughout the population. Why else would liberals be elected on a platform of nothing and then claim a mandate for something while the electorate looks on bemused?

Global warming is a good thing and not a threat; read the editorial and other skeptics and decide for yourself.

Hey Genius its rapist not raper

I had an ill thought out correction from a loyal reader concerning the use of language today. I'm not certain which post the corrector was correcting but I do know that his/her correction was uncertain. Apparently I had made some reference to the recent abduction of the boys in Missouri and used the term child raper. The reader preferred the term rapist. To me it's a distinction without a difference. The next statement was a question about where I had been educated "...where did you go public school?" the unfortunate answer is no. I spent 12 years of confinement in the Catholic School System where, even with a superior IQ, I did poorly.

I love comments from readers no matter what the content: we all like to think we are smarter than everyone else. In fact, in most cases, nothing could be further from the truth. All this not withstanding, thanks for reading and thanks for commenting.

An Unusual Usual Tactic: Blame The Victim

In these pages there has been a great deal of discussion about the abysmal level of the American education "system" in that it has systematically failed its clients. In today's Wall Street Journal Mr. Charles Murray opined that it is not the system's fault but rather that the clients are too stupid to learn in the first place. Is this a surprise?

In the United States the liberal, or so-called progressive mentality is to blame the victim and champion the offender. Beyond the failure of the public education system is the most recent example. Why didn't the kidnapped eleven year old boy, Sean Hornbeck, attempt to escape as he grew older? In Vermont last week a child molester was given the minimum sentence, this is the same state that gave a child raper 60 days in jail because the system didn't know how to rehabilitate the criminal.

In today's article Mr. Murray puts forth the idea that most of the children are too stupid to learn therefore it cannot be the faulty teaching and money grubbing administrators to blame. He goes further and says that the supposed success of the stern discipline and academic achievement of the years prior to 1970 were a myth. This is a sop to the idea that standards had to be lowered to admit minority students. Therein lies the true myth.

Today's children are lucky if they can read at the fourth grade level by the time they leave high school. Many college "graduates" are functionally illiterate. Is is reasonable to assume that the vast majority of American children are retarded? Tempting, yes, reasonable no; Mr Murray goes on to destroy his own argument. During the Great Leap Forward in American education universities began to drop the ABCDF grading system in favor of pass/fail. Some schools had no failures. The idea that IQ could even be a measurement was considered laughable because it was racially biased in favor of white students.

How then do we account for the large numbers of pre-boomer students still living who are more literate, more articulate, more educated than today's education system victims? Even with segregated school systems the demands of families and teachers for excellence produced citizens that could think critically and are still doing so. The NEA has failed the children and the nation. No longer are good teachers and leaders promoted to supervisory or administrative positions. Most come to these jobs from college doctoral of education programs which place emphasis on the business of education and not on education itself.

A nation that does not educate its children is suicidal. A nation that does not demand excellence from both sides of the blackboard is irresponsible. For a union apologist to blame the lack of native intelligence as the basis for academic failure on such a monumental scale is absurd. Absurd but typical of liberal thinking that promotes the idea that the system can never be at fault.

California: It's Time For A Woman Governor

With all the liberal ecstasy over the ascendance of Nancy Pelosi to the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives it is a good time to pause and think about what it really means. Of course the American public allowed itself to be duped by the Democrat Party with regard to its political goals and ambitions, but it is hardly surprising when the herd follows its instinct to avoid trouble. The appalling state of the average US citizen’s ability to think critically will likely result in more difficulties in the future.

Still with so-called feminism apparently in the ascendant there is one question that has not been answered, and perhaps never asked. Why has the governorship of California never been held by a woman? It is well known that California represents all that is progressive and is the last bastion of reason and goodness in the United States; so why not elect a woman to the governor’s mansion?

While this question might seem to be a puzzle the answer is really quite simple: Democrats, liberals, ultra-liberals, still support white male dominance. The party is top heavy with old, white males, including former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. The Democrat Party’s failure to support any major effort for national or state office by “protected class” citizens is disgraceful but unavoidable. This tendency bodes ill for Barak Obama’s political ambitions. Already the media is broadcasting beefcake pictures of Mr. Obama at the beach; can his candidacy be taken seriously? JFK was a one time senator and then was elected to the presidency; will Mr. Obama be allowed to fill Kennedy’s shoes?

With all the drivel emitting from the self-described arts crowd in Hollywood it seems that some effort should be made to live up to the prattle and get a woman in the governor’s chair. A likely candidate would fit the profile of a white lesbian weightlifter with a Hispanic surname whose previous experience might include a period as a sexworker in San Francisco, a grief counselor in Los Angeles, an Ebonics teacher in Oakland, and finally a city council member in Modesto.

Hats off to Nancy Pelosi, of course the men will still run things behind the skirts, and it might take another hundred years to get a woman governor in California.

When Not If

US border security is more than preventing illegal immigration of Latino workers; it is essential to the safety of the nation in its efforts to combat infiltration of Islamofascist terrorists. Once the attacks begin in earnest, which will most likely be sometime in the next two years, the New York Times will dub it an insurgency against the odious Western Oppressors. The other media will follow suit thus confusing and weakening the resolve of the citizenry to stamp out such murderers.

By casting the terrorists as legitimate attackers entitled to respect based on their oppression and the sanctity of their religion it will be politically incorrect to resist with other means than simple police activity. There will be calls for internment or deportation of Muslims which will further confuse the issue as the weight of collective guilt will make such actions impossible.

Just how much the violence will be noticed at first is a consideration. The violence in Iraq is reported and exploited by the media in an attempt to frighten the American public. In reality the United States is much more violent than Iraq certainly in ratio. Four people were shot, one killed, in Denver, CO and so on. New Orleans, Washington, DC, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, all have records of gang violence and simple mayhem that out do Baghdad most of the time.

Any US based terrorists will thus have to announce and take responsibility for their actions or they will be lost in the crowd.

Reflections

Today, the penultimate day of 2006 is a good one for a short reflection on the events of the past year. The coincidence of the deaths of Gerald Ford and Saddam Hussein cast the year in stark relief. While this column is generally concerned with national and world events there have been a few interesting things in North Carolina to be discussed later so please be patient.

The war in Iraq has been over for about three years, the occupation is still struggling to help some sort of civil society to emerge. This transformation might be a little more plausible with the death of Saddam Hussein. The die hard Sunnis must now recognize that their benefactor, at the expense of the Kurds and Shiites, will never again champion their interests. The Sunnis must now face the reality that to survive they must cooperate with their internal enemies. This will give the country a chance to retain its shape and character.

In the United States and the rest of the world the events in Iraq are seen from a different perspective. The Europeans have seen a cash cow gutted by the US invasion of Iraq, and they are understandably angry at the economic inconvenience they have experienced. There can be no doubt that European motivations are based on their own inability to influence events. Even the Pope has to get in the act.

In the United States the argument has boiled down to the childish. Ancient hippies and young wannabees “protest” and demonstrate their unhappiness with happy abandon. They are not to be taken seriously even when embraced by the hypocritical politicians who put them to use. The real problem with public opinion is that the “adults” who once supported the occupation have now turned away in disgust and sadness. The disgust is about the clear lack of interest on the part of Iraqis to build a country. The sadness is over the deaths of so many willing service personnel who have died in place of Iraqis. While these are generalizations the ideas are fairly accurate.

Global warming continued in 2006 much as it has done for the past 16,000 years. Species have been affected by this continuum in terms of reduced numbers and even extinction. New species have been discovered at a record rate; apparently the earth can take care of itself. The UN has now admitted that global warming is mostly attributable to natural events. There were no hurricanes in the United States this year. Mankind has such a short memory and such a weak collective IQ that only political considerations have a chance of making headway in this issue.

Liberty in the US has shrunk once again. Smokers are no longer given the choice about whether to enter a no smoking restaurant or to seek out one that permits smoking. Smoking in public places is generally prohibited. Food choices are also being restricted on the basis of consensus science rather than proven scientific facts (which might not exist in most cases). The sheep are being lead by unfriendly shepherds.

The terror attacks in the US and really most of the world seemed to be reduced for 2006 even though many politicians think that Israel is the sole cause of all the world’s problems. A former US President, Jimmy Carter, has said as much in speeches and a new book, reinforcing the popular view of him as the worst president ever.

In North Carolina reverse racism at the hands of a white district attorney has made the state’s justice system the laughing stock of the country if not the world. Mike Nifong should be disbarred for the damage he has done to the expectation of fair and impartial outcome for any defendants. For pure political gain Mr. Nifong deliberately mishandled the accusation of kidnapping and rape against members of the Duke Lacrosse team. The black leadership of the US and Durham, NC, missed a golden opportunity to build bridges across community divides as did 88 members of the Duke faculty who signed a statement condemning the accused prior to any trial. Instead these “leaders” chose the rhetoric of racial politics at its most disturbing. When they could have insisted on a clear, prompt, and just investigation; they demanded a legal lynching in retribution for crimes against blacks.

2007 is an unknown entity but some events will continue while new things will happen. I’m looking forward to finding out how it will be.

Promises Schomises

Democrat Party Leaders are now shying away from their early goals. The first of these setbacks comes as no real shock; they are trading the security of the United States for personal power within the Congress. Yesterday Nancy Pelosi announced that the Democrat Party would not be implementing every recommendation of the 9/11 commission as promised during the campaign. Senator Chris Dodd dismissed complaints about this as naiveté on the part of the electorate as such promises are just campaign rhetoric.

The real difficulty that has arisen is that establishing new oversight committees will weaken the other committees already led by Democrat hacks. This is only the first of many changes that can be expected during the first “100 Hours” promised by Pelosi and her cronies. The amusing thing is that the Democrats are fending off Republican criticism of their behavior as out of place since the Republicans behaved the same way. So why elect Democrats?

The American public is extremely gullible; one only has to consider the content of media advertising to reach this conclusion. The US education system is so bad that one can not reasonably expect literate students to emerge from the schools. It appears that the education system is designed to benefit school administrators and provide a safe retirement for teachers. The curriculum is designed to teach testing end points and not to educate the populace. As the old saying goes “Garbage in, garbage out.”

It seems very likely that the electorate will be very frustrated with the Congress by 2008 and that this session will be as lame a duck as the remaining years of the Bush presidency.

Liberal - Iran Nexus

Howard Dean and Ahmadinejad are allies. Dean, speaking French to a Quebec crowd of Canadian liberals, criticized President Bush, crowed over the election results, and took a poke a Fox News; none of which actions is surprising. The liberals despise Fox News for the simple reason that Fox doesn’t give them a pass on the liberal’s inane behavior. To disagree with a liberal is to admit being insane. After all they know what is best for everyone.

Ahmadinejad is a slightly different bird. Of course he feels that with the election of a Democrat Party majority Iran will get a free pass on its nuclear program and anything else it wants. Mr. Ahmadinejad wants the US to write him a letter in response to missives he sends. No doubt Nancy and Harry will do so, perhaps inviting him to address a joint session of congress. Crawling before our enemies is going to be the new strategy for survival. Public opinion means everything in the United States. The recent comments by Charlie Rangel and John Kerry illustrate the prevailing view of military service among Democrats and their allies on the wacky left. The allies are groups of Americans who have never grown up and are unwilling to face the harsh realities of life. Many of them are wealthy enough to have sycophants that isolate them from such nerve wracking events. Once we can no longer defend ourselves we will join the Euros in begging to be left alone. This is not a plan the Islamofascists can live with. World domination through Sharia is the only acceptable end.

The True Religion

Christianity is the world’s only true religion. This statement is true prima facie based only the behavior towards it. Christianity is persecuted in its home country and feared around the world. Why? An examination of its tenets reveals a religion of true peace and love, though many of its adherents do not subscribe to all its principles.

In the United States for example Christianity is assumed to be the national religion event though such a thing is forbidden by the Constitution. The strictures laid against Christian expression cannot be found with regard to any other religion. In fact the symbols of Judaism and Islam are rarely, if ever, forbidden. This lack of attention indicates that Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and others are really on a level with Transcendental Meditation in terms of their cultural impact.

Christian leaders have always abused their power, and great it must be, examples are many from the reign of Constantine, the renaissance popes, the inquisition, Henry VIII and his relatives, to modern day Jim Jones and David Koresh, yet the kernel of truth still shines through. One of the most unfortunate aspects of Christianity is its sectarian nature and these sects reliance on the fear found in the Old Testament. Of course Christ claimed that his ideas were fulfilling and replacing the Old Testament; statements that got him killed. The fact that most Christians cannot live simply by the New Testament is troubling, but in terms of human nature quite understandable. The basis for control in Islam is fear, so it is in many Christian sects. Still the power of a simple idea, Love Your Neighbor As You Love Yourself, makes the religion that expounds it inherently true.

Religion arose in the mists of time to answer the questions about death, drought, warring tribes, and so on. The priestly class gained power by developing answers to these questions and maintained power by keeping education a secret process. From there developed more worldly politicians with armies that could check the priests influence through violence. This corruption naturally led to priestly interpretation in favor the local chieftain. As cultures developed religions became more sophisticated instruments of the state holding all in thrall under the guise of righteousness. This is true from China to Peru, from Rome, to Istanbul, from Baghdad to Jerusalem, from Boston to Los Angeles, only one has the spark of human longing: Christianity.

This is not an argument about whether Christ is God or not. It is simply an observation that the strength of the Christian message is in its recognition that most human beings want peaceful and harmonious relationships with one another. Those exceptions rise in political heights in search of the power to dominate their fellow man. By definition the impulse to power is irreligious.

During the Christmas season repression is at its height, but all year long the fear that someday people will indeed Love Each Other As They Love Themselves will happen and thus de facto depose the powerful works its way to eliminate any such possibility. For that reason alone Christianity must be considered the only true religion.

Joe Loves Hugo

Joe Kennedy II, named for his great uncle, is doing a deal with the devil one which his namesake would likely never endorse. The original Joe Kennedy, son not the father, was killed in action during WWII and has been revered as a hero ever since. He died fighting oppression, his great nephew is endorsing a dictator and garnering positive PR in the process. Kennedy and Hugo Chavez have done a deal to provide heating oil, through CITGO, at a 40% discount. This will undoubtedly benefit those who qualify this winter in the colder regions of the US, but what gain will the citizens of Venezuela gain?

Venezuela has sunk in terms of living standards since Hugo took over. He and his mentor, Fidel Castro, are still attempting to spread Marxist style socialism if not communism. The do-good, feel-gooders of the liberal wing love this idea. Utopia always sounds good even if it never pans out. Fidel will soon be , if not already, dead. This will be a great tragedy for the Democrat supporters of this tyrant. They are switching their allegiance to Chavez.

The Kennedy- Chavez nexus is supposedly a non-profit effort but salaries must be paid etc, so profit is in the eye of the profiteer. Chavez hopes to rehabilitate his tarnished image though he is probably going to be disappointed in the long run.

Those conservatives who stayed home or voted Democrat in protest are now getting what they wanted; too bad for the rest of us.

Rangel, Waxman, Dingell, and Durbin are examples of what the future holds; bitter partisan clashes, revenge, and general congressional chaos. This might be good as no legislation is likely to be passed during this period. Rangel's proposal to reinstate the draft is a typically hypocritical view of life. This system was started by Democrats during the First World War and repealed by them immediately after the Vietnam era.

The Kennedy-Chavez proposition is just one more example of this kind of opportunistic thinking and behavior.

A Brief View

The crazy part of the year is here. Beginning with Thanksgiving weekend the workplace will slowly grind to a halt; stopping completely during the final two weeks of December. The world of course will continue its celestial journey and on the ground events will continue to unfold. The Democrats are marshalling their complaints against the Bush administration; fundamentally a dead issue as Bush cannot be re-elected and the Democrats control Congress.

The KGB, now known as the FSB, is providing fodder for novelists and screen writers in what appears to be a takeover of Russia. Czar Vladimir Putin I and his cronies are robbing the country blind and murdering anyone who objects or causes scrutiny of the FSB. The lingering death by poison of a former Putin associate is only the latest victim of this purge. There have been at least three other political murders apparently sponsored by the state in the last few years. It is doubtful that any real elections will take place in Russia for the foreseeable future. While this behavior tracks well with Russian psychology the implications for world stability are not so clear. Russia has always been dominated by a strong leader, never has there been a time when democracy of any form has flourished. Such ingrained attitudes make it easier to accept a fait accompli than it is to protest it.

In Iraq the situation is degrading into a “last man standing” scenario in which the political will of the American people is so weak that it is very likely that many Sunnis will be exterminated in the next few years. The Shia will indulge in ethnic cleansing on scale not imagined since the Second World War. The question will then be what is Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, et al to do? A Pan-Arab war would devastate the region but will injure Iran and Iraq more. With Turkey on one side and the rest of the Sunnis on the other a squeeze play would result in nuclear retaliation; the rest can be imagined.

The world economy is chugging along with China and India realizing their financial power by simple virtue of their populations. This growth will be impossible for the existing governments to control and so more turmoil there. China is hoping for a good PR result from the Olympic Games but they are so corrupt that only a morbid curiosity about how China will deal with the influx of foreigners will be of interest.

Election Hijinks

Elections are interesting because of the surprising revelations that often follow. The Democrat Party is just finding out how to take the reins of government and they still have a lot to re-learn. The first woman elected to the House Speaker ship, Nancy Pelosi, has already made a major gaffe that could have been easily avoided. By keeping her promise to Jack Murtha she actually jeopardized her own authority. It’s never a good idea to display weak judgment before one is moved in to the new office.

Sten Hoyer, the new House Majority Leader, is likely to obstruct Pelosi when it suits him and to so without fear. This situation will also encourage the “Blue Dog Democrats” to go their own way without trepidation and to represent their districts as they were elected. The ultra liberal wing of the party will still insist on impeaching George Bush and exacting revenge for the slights and imagined slights dealt to them during the Republican era. This behavior will not serve them well because the US public is not in the mood for sophomoric high jinks.

The Iraq war, which the IslamoFascists are anticipating a quick end, will make American influence that much less important in the world. Of course this suits the ultra left but is not really in the best interests of the United States. The Muslim blogs, websites, and other media are celebrating the advent of the Democrat “Peace Party” as a further demonstration that the US can no longer make its power felt for more than a few days. The craziness on the left coast while not sweeping the nation is an insidious omen for the future.

The United States is a nation of 300 million souls defended by a relatively small military from enemies who are not only determined to destroy it they are commanded by their religion to do so. This is beyond comprehension to the left as they have no such belief system and cannot grasp the significance of the desire to get to Heaven. The result is denial and alibis about the various cause and effect syndromes behind the Muslim behavior. These liberals are completely wrong. This should be clear from the membership in jihad by well educated Muslims as well as the ignorant.

The party is just starting and already disappointment is in the air. From all indications the US economy is headed for a few bumpy rides in the coming months possibly leaving the Democrats with a recession on their hands. Certainly it appears that inflationary pressures are getting stronger and the Democrats policies generally don’t cope well under those circumstances. Just as economic growth is slowing the Democrats will raise the minimum wage, increase taxes, and disrupt the government to the extent that there is a good chance that 2008 will be a very difficult time.

The rise of socialism, an already failed system, will simply make things worse. Job growth has been very strong over the past three years but the country is running out of workers. The entitlement programs, which the Democrats will tend to grow, will eventually bankrupt the nation. Thanks to abortion on demand the United States is missing approximately 40 million potential workers who would have helped offset the welfare deficits that will result from 77 million baby boomers making their demands on the system.

All this means that the election in 2008 could see a complete reversal of fortune from the latest election last week. Please note that there was no wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Republican side no accusations of cheating, disenfranchisement etc. The juveniles have taken over and might make some pretty silly choices.

The American health care system will slowly stop in the next few years if expectations are not lowered. Yet, Hillary Clinton wants to “insure” everyone imagining that there is a bottomless well of money to pay for the plan. This strategy of vote buying is out of date and very dangerous. Already health care costs for seniors are spiraling out of control and the end is nowhere in sight.

By exiting Iraq precipitously the Islamofascists are getting the wrong signal, or perhaps the correct one, that the US is no longer interested in having much world influence. By dismissing John Bolton the Democrats are confirming the behavior of the UN. Things are not looking very good for the immediate future.

Veteran's Day

I served in the US Air Force from 1966 through 1970. Today is Veteran’s Day formerly known as Armistice Day which is the name I knew it by as a child. Then the day was set aside to honor the end of the First World War which didn’t actually end until 1945. In those days deep red poppies were sold as boutonnières to show respect for the dead of that conflict. Since 1918 there have been so many wars that the memorial day was converted to honor the living and the dead who have served the United States as members of the military.

I was drafted but enlisted before the Army could get its hands on me. I oppose any direct military draft but support some form of national service for all when they turn eighteen. The exact type of national service should be a choice. It could be military service, but it could also be hospital service, national park service, urban clean up, name it and it could be done. These people too would then be Veterans to be honored for serving their country.

Why would this be a good idea? Even though the Air Force is and was an all volunteer organization the draft forced people from all walks of life into service. This was a great leveler and gave those of us who served a sense of purpose, a maturing experience, a love of country, and an appreciation for the diversity of the citizenry of the USA. It was an experience I didn’t want but wouldn’t trade for anything.

The experience afforded me by military service is something I will never get over. Friendships made and lost in short periods. Experiences that heightened one’s awareness of the joy of life were contrasted by periods of boredom and loneliness. Excitement, fear, pride, sadness, joy, all compressed into stretches that could sometimes be measured in nano seconds and other times centuries.

All young people should have the opportunity to experience life in close quarters with friends and enemies with a job to do. Ours is a nation of 300 million souls defended by only 1,600,000 active duty personnel. A sense of purpose and true membership as a citizen is imparted when one gives of oneself for the benefit of others.

What Might Tomorrow Bring

While the new Democrat Congress will have to be careful about its agenda it appears unlikely that they will be able to control their impulses. The attempt to turn the US towards a European model based on failed welfare state socialism will result in an economic turndown. By 2008 it is likely that the US economic growth will have slowed if not stopped; a strong case for deflation as a possible outcome can be made.

The hysterical nature of liberals and ultralibs will force them to seek revenge for the perceived slights of the Bush Administration. The childish behavior they have exhibited over the past few years gives a strong indication of what is to come. The Democrat Party purports to be the party of the worker, whatever that term might mean to them, and as such has a strong Marxist bent. The wackiest, and most dangerous, are interestingly very wealthy and exploit the workers who do the menial tasks in liberal households.

Even considering Alcee Hastings for a Chairmanship proves the point that the Democrat Party has no idea of good behavior. No doubt the scandals will erupt over corruption and worse. The public will have to look to the conservative blogs, Newsmax, Rush Limbaugh, and others to find out what is really happening.

The economic downturn of 2008 will be difficult to pin on George Bush as the Democrats will control the economic levers. Senator Dorgan said yesterday that the middle and working classes are bearing the brunt of federal taxation and the Democrats will alter that situation in terms of fairness. This means higher federal income, FICA, and Social Security tax rates will soon be in effect. In actual fact more than 50% of federal income tax is paid by 5% of the population. Other tax payments come in the form of gasoline tax, excise tax, sales tax, fees, etc. When corporate taxes and penalties for successful investment take effect the result will be lower employment, and investment stagnation.

America voted and voted against its own self-interest in an attempt to rebuke George Bush for Iraq. There is an ill wind coming and it will certainly blow no good. If the Democrat leadership can not control its members and its normal impulses look for recession, more deference to foreign influence (UN), armed intervention in Sudan, high unemployment, lower net income, and a hysterical witch-hunt in the Bush Impeachment proceedings. The next two years have a strong chance of resembling a national suicide attempt for those who enjoy personal freedom, security from terrorism, disposable income, a strong nation, and all the other things that go with a good life.

Is there a left turn happening in the Western Hemisphere? The Castro- Chavez- Pelosi axis is gaining ground throughout the continents. This situation is a tribute to the inadequate education system in the United States and the lack of real freedom in Mexico, Central America, and South America generally. The mass communication systems available now are actually compressing time so that the weight of history is beginning to flatten any opportunity for humane change. Left wing dictatorships are coming to the fore.

Many South American nations are analogous to certain areas of West Virginia where coal mines have been burning for years. The so-called rebel movements are unchecked and are burning the land and people in various countries like Colombia and Peru. Their ostensible goal is to elevate the people to a Marxist heaven, of course if they don’t agree then they are sent to the Roman Catholic heaven immediately. These heirs of the Incas and Mayas are nothing more than criminals with a college education. There are no altruists in “revolutionary” movements.

The evidence that liberalism promotes sameness and inhibits individuality is clear from the attitude that a society must be risk averse. Anything done to excess is certainly going to be harmful, but the choices to indulge in excess even to the extent of personal detriment should be inalienable. Under Democrat rule choice is only allowed for abortions every other behavior is or should be codified. Wear seat belts, no smoking, no trans-fat, no fat at all, food with no taste, no drinking, etc, this is the vision of the future pushed by liberals in the US. Religious freedom for all except Christians because Christianity forms the basis of present day American Democracy; one may of course not even think of insulting a Muslim, Hindu, Jews may be insulted, as these behaviors defeat the aim of everyone feeling good about themselves.

The scene is darker down south of the border. Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro (while he was alive) are intent on imposing a Stalinist philosophy on the peoples of the Southern America continent. The resultant sameness will be obvious as will continued poverty alleviated only by imprisonment and execution for the crime of wanting a better life. The only bright spot is that history never stops and these things won’t last forever; but it seem like it for those suffering.

The United States thinks too much of itself as will be shown by the Democrat takeover of the Congress. It is likely that the recent events will be short lived because liberals can not help themselves in imposing behavior on others. After all in their minds they know best because the rest of the population is beneath them. A liberal’s love for his fellow man is warmed by the heart of a prison warden.

Interesting days are ahead in the United States. The Democrat Party recruited Republican look a likes to take power in the name of the party but will they be able to control them? James Webb, though not officially elected at this time, was a long time Republican so much so that he served as Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of the Navy. Many of the newly elected Democrats are in fact old school conservative Democrats. They are being called moderate in an effort to keep the ultra left and Hollywood happy.

There is joy in the caves of Pakistan, the streets of Kandahar, in the Sunni triangle, and in Teheran. The word is out: the United States has no will to protect itself and is merely hoping for mercy. Of course mercy is not extended to infidels so that is that. Osama Bin Laden is regaling his confreres on how he judged the situation accurately and probably re-ran the movie Black Hawk Down, his favorite allegory.

Freedom of telecommunications is now de facto one may go back to the satellite phone without fear of detection. This is especially true if Algee Hastings is appointed to the chair of the House Intelligence committee. Speaking of allegories, Algee is an impeached Federal Judge disbarred, for taking bribes, by a Democrat controlled Congress and is now the poster boy for the Party. This is only one example of the Pelosi judgment at work.

There may not be IslamoFacist truck bombs in New York or Los Angeles but it won’t be a surprise when such explosions find there way to cable news. The American public has spoken and with very little complaint so far. The few problems that have arisen appear to be Democrat sabotage of a few voting machines. Small potatoes compared to the election of John F Kennedy by Cook County, Illinois.

The United States electorate can still be moved by the old line media. This was proved in many races yesterday in particular Florida where the Republican candidate to replace Mark Foley was defeated. This was a revenge vote in a predominately Republican district. Florida, home to 30,000 sex offenders and countless other vices, decided to put on the prude face as a way to save it. The Foley situation goes back ten years and was known in the media and by both parties for all that time.

Around the nation the Republican base gave up and stayed home. The rest of the voters swallowed the Democrat lie completely. There will be some surprises no doubt, Joe Lieberman being the most savory, but on the whole a culturally weak liberal agenda will be promulgated. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will ultimately disgrace themselves because they will not be able to resist the impulse for revenge; Pelosi in particular.

One good example of the weakness of American voters is the Talent-McCaskill race. In this contest the liberals simply lied their way to success. McCaskill actually accused George Bush of “leaving people to die on rooftops in New Orleans simply because they were black.” the voters of Missouri apparently are too stupid to see through such demagoguery. Through deception cloning is now legal in Missouri, as the famous Michael J. Fox ads pretended that the bill was for fetal stem cell research which it was not. Stem cell research is legal in every state, but not the use of Federal funds. That will now change.

Private medical research is ignoring fetal stem cell research in favor of adult stem cell because the latter offers more hope for success. The moral implication of fetal stem cells research is bleak and indicates a society in severe decline.

The Republican Party brought this defeat upon itself by abandoning the principles that got them elected in the first place. They became Democrats. The Republicans are going back to the wilderness and may not return for a long time.

Have a Banana

Today all will be revealed. Not only election results but the real plans, hopes, and dreams of the political classes will come to the fore. Already the Democrat Party has signed up thousands of lawyers for stand by duty for action in elections that don’t go their way. The US, the shining example of democracy, has been declining towards banana republic status since the 1970’s. It is now fully ready to take over for Mexico and Venezuela. The turning point was the 2000 presidential election when the voters did the unthinkable and rejected the Democrat Party.

This of course upset the natural order of things and so could not possibly be the correct outcome. A nationally painful process began which is still reverberating through society. Then came the real disaster: the Democrats were rejected two more times. Well as the Democrats know the general electorate is too stupid to actually see through liberal policies and so could have no reason to reject them; there must be some unseen hand at work.

Karl Rove, the bane of democracy, he even spells his name Horror Movie style. There were hints of incompetence on the Democrat’s part but that can not even be considered not can the ideas that will save America be reviewed for reasonableness. No, it must be something else. The stalwarts of the party including Tim Robbins, The Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen, and Barbara Streisand had their leadership questioned. This outrageous behavior on the part of the general public has been deemed unacceptable.

The very idea that voter or consumers have the right to reject entertainers based on their political views is regarded as absurd. The stresses in society are now greater than anytime since the 1850’s and no one wants to take responsibility for the situation.

The reason, to oversimplify, is that American politicians have been completely seduced by the perquisites of power. The process of erosion has been gradual since World War II as the world position of the United States has grown in influence. The proof of this assertion is made clear by the absence of John Kerry, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi during the last few days of the campaign. Their unwillingness to come out on their own terms as candidates and leaders means that they assume victory and are waiting to implement their destructive policies further reducing the United States to the level of Gambia if possible.

Saddam To Hang

What does it mean this death sentence for Saddam Hussein? The conventional wisdom has been that Saddam’s death would tone down the Sunni opposition, but will that be true? This morning after the sentence was known there was jubilation from the Shiites and Kurds and defiance by the Sunnis. The most likely outcome will be simply a passing mention in history books twenty years from now. The immediate impact will contradict conventional wisdom.

Of course the Iranians will be happy but they are making a strong effort to make Iraq a puppet state similar to the relationship of Lebanon to Syria. This of course is the unintended consequence of “bringing democracy to the Middle East.” The situation in the world both in terms of peace and economic development will be adversely effected by this result. The United States occupation will end probably within two years or less. Civil War will decimate the Sunni population and stir resentment among believers of the same ilk. There might be further ramifications such as a general Muslim war among the various sects. Given the number and quality of weapons a war like that would reduce the populations very quickly.

The real result of this death sentence is that it reveals the colonial paternalism that still resides in the West. Amnesty International has condemned the existence of the death sentence for Saddam even though this is an Iraqi law, such interference is typical. The venerable Ramsey Clark was dismissed for asserting his superiority over the court and making clear his arrogant thinking.

The wonder of the situation is that all the evangelical sects in the United States have been predicting Armageddon for years. Is it possible that they are correct at last or correct because it’s true? It is very possible that a war between Muslim nations could erupt will the West have enough sense to stay out of the conflict?

All non-Muslims must remember that jihad is something that has been going on since Mohammed founded Islam in 620 AD. The conversion by violence is not only condoned it is a valid tactic during conquest and has frequently been used as an excuse to kill all who do not convert. The same is coming today.

Nancy Come Out Wherever You Are

Where is Nancy? According to the Wall Street Journal’s profile of the up and coming Democrat candidates there appears to be a move back towards the center by those who are expected to win their races. The obvious problem within the Party must wait for solution for the moment it is essential that the Party regain its power in the Congress. To that end the ultraliberal nut jobs who actually lead the party are missing in action at the moment.

This situation is reminiscent of the Republican debacle of 1992 when Pat Buchanan’s Culture War speech scared off center to center left base voters. The result was the presidency of Bill Clinton; for better or worse. The Democrats have finally learned a few lessons and this might serve them well. First they now know that they were not anointed by God to lead the US indefinitely; this even though they don’t believe in the existence of God. Second they also know to shut up around election time about their true beliefs and plans. To figure out what the Democrat Party’s true positions are one must obtain a fund raising letter and read it carefully. In these letters the party’s true ambitions, goals, hatreds, and fears are revealed. This is not the case with Republican fund raisers as they merely reflect what George Bush is saying all the time.

A Democrat success in November would historically expected, though perhaps not a landslide. Since the outcome will be typical of off year elections where the party out of power picks up seats to the discomfort of the leading party, a change is needed; more circumspect behavior will be needed on the part of the victors. To seize the ultimate prize, both houses of congress and the presidency, the Democrats must appear to be more centrist than their financial backers desire. If they reveal themselves fully they will lose badly in 2008. The United States citizenry is aging and that in itself is a problem for liberals. Excluding lawyers and college professors the aging left is dwindling and shifting its focus to the right of the political spectrum.

November 7 may end up as the ultimate anti-climax given the hype that is floating about these days.

The Return of Harry Truman

Will 2006 be a Harry Truman year? Many of you might remember that Thomas Dewey was not predicted to defeat Harry Truman in the 1948 election; some newspapers actually printed the result that “Dewey Defeats Truman.” Of course that was incorrect but is it possible that once again the pundits and pollsters are wrong and that the Republicans can pull out an off year victory?

It is of course possible but what would a “victory” entail. Based on current thinking and poll results simply breaking even might constitute a win. Certainly retention of control of either houses of Congress would disappoint every one on the left and in the media. How likely is this to happen?

Considering the recent gaffe by John Kerry and its potential to get out the conservative base and the possibility of Michael Steele’s victory in Maryland there are certainly indications of life in the Grand Old Party. America does not want another Vietnam-style defeat on its record and even a pull out can not really be considered as such. Nonetheless the war is undoubtedly the single factor that could tip the balance to the Democrats. All the points raised by the Democrats are merely the same so called issues they raise every day in hopes that like a broken clock they will be correct at least twice a day.

The stock market is up and many shareholders are now worker bees with 401(k) plans whose value depends on the stock market. Auto sales have begun trending up with the decline in petrol prices. The real estate and housing market are in decline but as this is a lagging indicator the problem is probably not as great as it seems. The cable news outlets have made the hysterical broadcast of everything seem more important than it really is. No one has a chance to take a breath and evaluate their situation with relation to events as they might see them.

Should the electorate actually stop and take stock of the situation prior to the election then the Republicans will pull off quite a surprise. However should the voters decide that the fear mongers are correct it is likely that election predictions of a Democrat victory will come true.

Some think this is a good thing; hoping the Democrats will do something stupid and lose the 2008 ballot. This is naive and quite dangerous thinking.

Kerry Stumbles Again

John Kerry summed it up perfectly; anyone who votes Republican is stupid and needs the Democrat Party to run their lives. This kindness has been stated in less direct terms by Hillary Clinton and the rest but this stern reminder of Democrat intellectual superiority is remarkable.

Why anyone would trust them with the safety of the general population is beyond reckoning. The fact is that as a group the military population is generally better educated, better informed, more disciplined than almost any other similar class in the US. Of course Mr. Kerry is attempting to pass his comments off as a failed joke; the idea being that George Bush is too stupid to succeed as President let alone in such an adventure as Iraq.

It was revealed last election season that both Kerry and Bush had graduated from Yale and that Bush actually made better grades and had a stronger transcript than Kerry. Kerry’s behavior is confirming that. When the shoe is on the other foot liberals howl in pain about the unfairness of confronting their behavior. Never will they face their own problems in a responsible sense. The so called public interest media, e.g. Chris Matthews, hew strictly to the Democrat Party line and then wonder why the general public doesn’t tune in. Why put up with advertisements simply to watch propaganda.

The reason Fox News Channel is so despised by liberals is that Fox attempts to present and unbiased point of view; not always successfully. The other media members don’t even give fairness lip service. It will be interesting if John Kerry has single handedly energized the Republican base but don’t count on it.

Iraq the Bush Legacy

Iraq is a failure, a failure of planning and now of will. Many opportunities were lost as we all know, but the greatest failure was not taking the chance to capture and imprison al-Sadar. The Prime Minister of Iraq, al-Maliki is a complete loss for the United States. At this point there is little to wait for. Once the United States pulls out of Iraq tremendous violence against Sunnis will begin. This violence will be heavily supported by Iran and Syria.

The situation could fairly easily devolve into a Pan Arab or Pan Muslim war that will engulf the entire Middle East with consequences unknown. The war against terrorism is something that must be fought and will be whether liberals like it or not. The case for the war in Iraq was never clear or simple, and is now a flop.

The actual war has been over for three years; it is the occupation that is a failure. This failure must be laid squarely at the feet of George Bush and the people he relied on to succeed in Iraq. These are not impeachable offenses but undoubtedly the Democratistas will attempt such a legal coup d’etat. The success of such an action while not impossible is certainly dubious. Its benefits to the nation are non-existent.

Today the US military obeyed an order from al-Maliki and abandoned the checkpoints around Baghdad. This action clearly gives al-Sadar the upper hand and bodes ill for a secular democracy in Iraq. The Iranian model is the most likely outcome. Unfortunately the US withdrawal, if precipitous, will only encourage further attacks on the US homeland. These attacks will be facilitated by the Democrat Party, the ACLU, and Democrat hack judges. The general population will pay the price.

These will be the consequences of the invasion of Iraq, and that will be the legacy of George W. Bush.

President Pelosi

There will be at least one impeachment proceeding if the Democrat Party takes control of Congress. There is a master plan behind their thinking that is quite simple and frightening. The goal is to make Nancy Pelosi President of the United States of America. How can this be? Quite simply, once George Bush is de frocked then step two will begin: the impeachment of Dick Cheney. If that move is successful, which it could be given the Democrat Party goals, the next in line is the Speaker of the House.

Oh the brilliance of the plan is breathtaking. That is why Nancy is lying low at the moment, hoping that the electorate will not catch on. This idea might be considered a bit of stretch by some, in particular Hillary Clinton whose aims would also be defeated, but such a plan is not impossible. Most people would not dream this big let alone plan so scrupulously and be willing to exploit the craziness of the far left.

It is possible that a Bush impeachment would not succeed; it would be dependent simply on the margin of electoral victory. Suppose it did succeed would it be a surprise if the 2008 election was postponed? Would it be a terrible shock to have the postponement extended indefinitely say pending the end of the war on terror? What laws might be passed to ensure Democrat Party control along the lines of Castro and Chavez?

Crazy it might sound, impossible it is not. Democrats always project their behavior on those they criticize. Therefore by accusing Bush of stealing an election they are showing the world that not only have they previously thought about taking such an action, they are also ready to do so.

Rush Limbaugh An Honest Agent

The recent uproar over Rush Limbaugh’s comments about stem cell political ads has been amusing and a bit depressing. Limbaugh’s comments have been criticized quite unfairly and inaccurately. Anyone who listened to the program on Tuesday and then monitored the media coverage must have wondered where the commentators got their ideas. USA TODAY, for example, had a half page article with a front page teaser about the situation.

The article contained very little that could pass for truth and quite a lot of exaggeration and distortion. Even that would not have been a problem if it had addressed even a bit of what Limbaugh said about the stem cell portion of the story. The advertisements themselves are dishonest and distortions of the truth. Yet not one main stream media outlet took note of this fact.

There is no problem with media members having political opinions but when printing them a disclaimer should be added. When a news story is news let it stand on its own and report both sides of the story. There are people who think that stem cell research is illegal in the US, this from a report on NBC News that inferred that conclusion. It is cloning that is illegal. This is the impression created by false or faulty reporting. This type of activity must be deliberate because while some in the media might be stupid certainly not all are. Some might be honest but most are not. These are two conclusions that may be safely drawn.

Further Michael J. Fox rebutted Limbaugh by saying his ads are not political in nature and that with regard to Parkinson’s he is apolitical. These statements are patently untrue and yet went unchallenged by Katie Couric during the interview. Such behavior shows disrespect to the audience and demonstrates the hypocrisy of the media. This might seem to be a fruitless exercise of expression but when confronted by the “Big Lie” one must keep pushing back.

Children of The Corn

The election must be over as Nancy Pelosi has announced that there will be no impeachment proceedings. Of course that is not true, even if the Democrats do win a majority in Congress. John Conyers has his heart set on destroying Bush and in the process severely damaging the United States.

The Children of The Corn are about to take over legislative power in the United States. Anyone who enjoys roller coasters and horror movies is going to love the next two years of American political life. The shrieking ultra left wackos are coming to Washington, DC and they want to eliminate anyone who disagrees with them. Of course they will be disappointed and even a slight disappointment sends them into paroxysms of nutty behavior.

Nancy Pelosi has a good chance of being rejected by her colleagues if she continues on this line. If she fails to allow her party to drag the country into a morass of party petulance she too will go by the wayside. The ultra left, Michael Moore, George Soros, et al, have a Stalinist bent which should appeal to the North Koreans. Central control over the economy is one of their goals. This childish outlook reveals the shallow nature of their views. All these ideas have been tried, failed, and rejected; even in the People’s Republic of China.

Wiser heads in the media are going to be surprised at what they have wrought with their dishonest reporting and slanted stories of recent events. It will be too late. Two years of insanity must be endured if the Democrats win power. The 2008 election will most likely see the end of the Democrat Party as it is now configured. The citizens of the US will undoubtedly turn them out and send them back to grow up.

The chilly blast of northerly winds fast upon Halloween is giving us a hint of the winter days ahead. This year’s crop of acorns is heavy and the sound of them dropping is reminiscent of distant rifle fire. Fall is a time for reseeding of lawns, bulb planting, and leaf raking.

Many years ago autumn had a special aroma that of burning leaves. Nowadays leaf burning is forbidden in the interest of clean air; it’s a loss that is not worth the gain. Fire danger to the neighborhood might be a more serious consideration, but the problem was not framed that way. The immense piles of leaves were havens for children playing outside, running, jumping, and sinking to the bottom were pleasures youngsters can’t even imagine let alone experience. Pedophiles and child killers appear to be lurking everywhere now, taking some of the fun of growing up away.

Even the simple act of walking, unescorted, to and from school is an activity that has disappeared. Putting on one’s stocking hat, a warm jacket, lunch bag or box in hand then setting out on the adventure of walking through the neighborhood to school is not going to happen very often.

Each fall and winter we think of things past and look forward with hope to spring and summer, it’s a cycle that can’t be broken.

The Times They Are Confusing

Hysteria is mounting as the final run-up to the US elections continues. Such is the immediacy of today’s communication systems that the impression is given that every event has two outcomes: dire and worse. Taking time to think things through, at least among the general population, is not something that people enjoy.

George Will recently noted this trend and described it as an entitlement syndrome. He seemed to be saying that the current crop of US citizens is so used to instant gratification that almost nothing can really satisfy them. He posits that this is the reason for discomfort in times of great prosperity; essentially the attention span of three year olds. This is a good way of looking at the situation.

What else can explain the childish behavior of ultra liberals and ultra conservatives? For example, the Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas is certainly not representative yet they are convinced that all but they are going to Hell (and the sooner the better). The leftists have the same attitude without the religious overtones. This view of “my way or the highway” limits discourse in a way that Bill Clinton gave lip service the other day at Yale.

It is commonplace that everything is about the “Gotcha” and very little is about the substance of debate. This is partly due to the very poor US public education system, and partly due to the self-indulgence made possible by the incredible prosperity of the last 40 years. Bigger houses, cars, vacations, wardrobes, and sexual excesses have society spinning, looking for stability which is rejected when found. One solution for the future, as the present is lost, may be home schooling which is a growing phenomenon. Should this trend continue the Education Lobby, and Teacher’s Union will strive for legislation outlawing learning at home.

The outlandish always gets attention if only for prurient interest making watching news broadcast an intellectual challenge. The ability to cipher what is actually important is a skill that today’s children must develop if they are to have any hope of critically analyzing their circumstances.

It is paradoxical that demagoguery is actually easier in times of prosperity and good communications systems.

Clinton Still Phony

Bill Clinton is a very funny man. During a speech at Yale Billy complained about the lack of real intellectual political arguments during the current election season. According to Clinton the Republican Party is hostage to extreme religious fanatics and by extension so is the US government for the time being. The hypocritical Republican Party is self-righteously moralistic while at the same time is “developing new weapons and cutting taxes.” This example of Clintonian logic is supposed to prove the innate incapacity of Republicans to operate in the best interests of the American public.

Of course this is Orwellian double speak and Clinton knows it. However it is more revealing than perhaps he would have liked. The single obligation of the Federal Government is to ensure the safety of the nation; all else pales in comparison. Clinton’s remarks make it clear that the Democrat Party will appease our enemies to the point that disaster strikes and will damage the economy by raising taxes. The ideology of the left, which Clinton wants the public to think doesn’t exist, will create more problems than it will solve; if it will solve any. Clinton bemoans the “politics of personal destruction” while encouraging his fellows to indulge in just that. Ms. Macaskill, the Democrat candidate for the Senate from Missouri claimed that “George Bush let people die on New Orleans rooftops simply because they were black.” Where is the intellectual portion of that discussion?

Democrat bloggers assert that George Bush and Condi Rice are sex partners and that is the only reason she got the job as Secretary of State. How does that thinking work in the best interests of the citizenry? Bill Clinton and the rest of his followers have no respect for anyone who disagrees with them and consider the mass of Americans too stupid to take care of themselves. How in the world did the nation survive without them?

It will be an interesting, if dreadful, time should the Democrat Party regain power in Washington DC. First there will be the crowing about the victory, then the promise of revenge for the years they were out of power, and finally two years of disruption and inaction while they attempt to impeach George Bush. Contrast that prediction with the actual behavior of the Bush administration upon taking the presidency. When the Democrats take over juvenile delinquents will be in charge of the most powerful nation on earth. Good Luck!

The immediacy of communications is causing life to be more stressful. 24-hour cable news, no wonder Ted Turner is a drunk, makes one wonder “Where did all these weird criminals come from?” Twenty years ago there were horrible crimes no doubt but are there more today in absolute terms? There are 30,000 sex offenders living in Florida, it’s amazing that they can be counted, but why are there so many? It makes one think of a pile of cockroaches scattering when the kitchen light is turned on.

A family is murdered and left on the side of the road no more than 50 feet from the traffic whizzing by at 80 miles per hour. They turn out to be Hispanic and no one knows where they came from or who killed them. Are such crimes the product of massive illegal immigration from a country where the culture of death and corruption makes such acts commonplace? The best thing for a person desiring a calmer life is to take the news in small doses, but that is very difficult.

Almost every public place has the cable news or weather channel blaring. Their omnipresence is simply accepted as is the landscaping around the shopping center. What is the news anyway? Is it the empty presidential podium which occupies the screen as the breathless announcer informs the public that the President will soon be there? Or is it another mundane police chase winding its interminable way through Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, or Detroit?

Americans have become television junkies. What is it about American culture that encourages such compulsive behavior? Cocaine, heroin, pot, amphetamines, and cable news are bad habits that are apparently unbreakable. Alcoholism is a universal problem, every country and society has felt its impact, but these other, modern phenomena’s are very different. Their insidious impact has created a society that is inured to crime, war, carnage, incidents whose shock value has been degraded.

To make themselves feel alive, people turn to reality television shows including the bloody Ultimate Fighter series. The medium of television can not live up to its potential until its users live up to theirs. One can subscribe to cable or satellite and have 500 channels of mostly nothing. The purveyors of such drivel are seeking an audience and will continue to experiment with the most sensational lurid programming possible in hopes of selling more ginzu knives.

Conservative v Liberal

The word liberal was initially used to define a British political trend during the 19th century the hope was that the term was demonstrate a positive vision for the future opposed to conservatives who wished to preserve that status quo. Since those halcyon days liberalism has become a culture of death and denial. This trend is so obvious that now the adherents of this ideology have taken to a new term: Progressive. Unfortunately the behavior remains the same.

Recently, at Columbia University in New York City, a mob of Progressives stormed the stage where a guest speaker was attempting to start a dialogue about illegal immigration. The disgraceful behavior of Progressives is nothing new and it seems that no matter the chronological age of these people their maturity level never increases. Of course they are big ACLU fans; another Progressive organization getting fat off the tax dollars of the US, protection of free speech is a supposed goal of that group. Apparently freedom only flows one way.

The United States is missing approximately 40 million citizens; the number of abortions since 1973, and for that reason the Progressive agenda of Social Security and Medicare are going by the boards. There are not and will not be enough workers to pay the bills.

The upcoming elections will be interesting as neither conservative nor progressive has a clear majority and with good reason. Conservative thinking in the US has been abandoned for a weak mix of strong military and pathetic leadership. The United States is a very prosperous place and it is a spiritual wasteland. The gradual corruption of Western ideals has substituted false guilt as a philosophical basis for life.

The fear of American Balkanization may be ignored because it has already happened. Without the external threat of radical Islam, North Korea, etc. it is likely that domestic terrorists would be at work. Cynicism rules the corridors of power regardless of party affiliation. The major difference between the parties seems to be Progressive childishness and Conservative fear to make them grow up.

Kofi and the Libs

Kofi Anan’s suggestion that the United States begin, immediately, bi-lateral talks with North Korea is not only ridiculous it is also a clear indicator about liberal thinking in a crisis. The Europeans have been talking to Iran for a few years now, how has that worked out? Anan’s advice is to give in to nuclear extortion from a criminal regime. How can the UN be taken seriously when considering such behavior?

Genocide is permitted to go forward in Darfur, as it was in Rwanda, Iran and North Korea snub the UN and basically threaten to blow up the school yard if their bullying tactics are not endorsed. Democrat Party spokespeople seem to agree with Anan and would cave in to these dangerous countries. The best tactic is to cut them off completely, in which case Europe would suffer some short term economic pain, thus forestalling any long term nuclear pain.

Military force in the form of a direct attack is not necessary as the restrictions placed on the ruled will be so tight that rebellion will be in the air. Such rebellions must be supported spiritually and financially by the Westerners whose safety and interests are currently at risk. Russia is no friend to the West so sanctions against them must also be considered. China is another problem altogether as it is now one of the most successful capitalist economies in the world. Of course their government is a blend of communism and fascism it would create a great deal of economic hardship in the US if sanctions were applied to China. The United States should be willing to share such hardships if the Euros are being asked to do so.

When the alternative of nuclear destruction is consideration perhaps a recession might be a good thing.

Wanted Perspective

Some countries, like some people, lack a sense of perspective. Of course whether Iran, North Korea, or any other country lead by nut cases develops nuclear weapons is not as important as getting rid of your surplus population in a humane way. That is what is driving Mexico to the UN Security Council requesting action against a proposed fence on the US – Mexico Border.

Of course this could be just another Karl Rove ploy to damage the Democrat Party’s chance in November, similar to his persuading Kim Jung IL to test a nuclear weapon. Perhaps it is a real effort on the part of the Mexican Government to keep its Aztec descendants moving north. There is a definite class distinction, common in most if not all Hispanic countries, between those of direct Spanish descent and those of mixed or pure Indian blood. Guess which class is economically better off. Should the Democrat Party win in November to the extent that they recover both Houses of Congress what are the chances of such a fence being built? Probably no chance at all, especially if the UN and France in particular weigh in against it.

The Democrats are out for revenge, not against terrorists but against George Bush. It is amazing what staying power their hatred has, Bush will be gone in 2008 and there is a good chance the Democrats will be tossed out too. Believe it or not there are some problems in the world that are more important than Bush bashing. Nancy Pelosi has crowed that “…they said we couldn’t beat something with nothing but were doing it.,” when referring to the pending Democrat victory in November. Only in America could such a thing be true and it looks like it might be.

How can the problems of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea, et al be addressed with nothing? A little perspective would go a long way in the case of power regained. Unfortunately the Democrat Party is so childish in its make-up and attitude that when the clowns take the stage it will be time for crying not laughing.

What Time Is It

The pundits, right and left, know exactly what to do it’s only politicians who are dithering about North Korea. This is actually the first shot in the struggle for world influence between China and the United States. The problem for the US is that its political class is only interested in preserving its privileges and wholly opposed to leading the nation towards any positive goal.

The problem with President Bush is that he is not a functioning member of the political class; he is under the impression that a president is presumed to be a leader. Mr. Bush is trying to lead but without able lieutenants leading is very difficult. Bill Frist is actually weaker than Trent Lott something many will find hard to swallow. Denny Hastert is a man without a brain; no wonder he was a school teacher and a wrestling coach. Which subjects did he teach? American history and biology used to be the province of athletic coaches in the recent past.

The Democrats are going to get what they wish, long, and lust for: power. Then they will have to lead. But can they? Are Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi leaders or just Sorogates for all the Bush haters? While they are impeaching George Bush the world stage will continue its performances. Once the impeachment effort fails, narrowly, they will be caught out by some terror attack or other, perhaps one that is a joint effort of Iran, N. Korea, and Venezuela.

By the time the Democrat term is over severe damage will have been done in the name of ultra liberalism. The only good thing about it is that such thinking will be completely discredited to the extent that The New York Times might go out of business.

Nukes Up North

So it’s Nukes up north on the Korean peninsula now. The world doesn’t want to believe rogue regimes when they make it clear what their intentions are. It won’t be long until Iran will join the club, with the help of the new Soviet Union under politburo leader Vlad Putin. The Islamofascists are giving Western Civilization fair warning and they mean it. The destruction of everything not associated with the Wahabbi sect of Sunni Islam is their goal; ignore it and the results will be devastating.

The feel good logic is that all the world’s problems would go away if only the United States would vanish. That the leaders of destructive nations, e.g. Pakistan, Iran, N. Korea, Venezuela, are brash enough to telegraph their next moves speaks to the disdain in which they hold world opinion. They know that their adversaries live in fear and wish the neighborhood bullies would leave them alone. It’s not going to happen.

The tide of terror is based on hatred and is not caused by poverty, lack of education, no jobs, but on a simple fact: faith that paradise awaits any martyr or killer of an infidel.

North Korea is a terrorist state that now has nuclear weapons with no idea of how to behave responsibly. Pakistan helped the Koreans to get started and is still helping them today. The Russians and Chinese are helping both Korea and Iran with results too dire to contemplate. Liberal democracies with their secular tendencies and situational ethics find it difficult if not impossible to comprehend the belief system of their enemies. That is why liberal thought dismisses the idea that the threat of destruction is real, rather the terrorists are simply misunderstood and oppressed. Nothing could be further from the truth.

There’s a better than even chance that the Doomsday Clock will strike midnight sometime this century. When that happens the result will prove that truth is stranger than science fiction.

Democrat Perfidy

Once again the Democrats have seized on a non-issue and the American public is expected to accept their line completely. The Mark Foley “issue” is being used by the media to distract the public’s attention from the real problems being faced. The Iraq war, a distinct part of the war on terror, illegal immigration, social security and Medicare reform is just a few of the things that the politicians should be addressing if they were providing leadership.

The Democrats simply want to get back in the leadership positions in the Congress so they can bully the Republicans. The constant blather that comes from Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and others is very wearing. Now they are engaged in gay bashing, a bit reckless since they claim to be the party of tolerance. There has been no comment from Barney Franks himself once accused of acts similar to those of Mark Foley. Let the investigation proceed apace, and let every legislator provide the logs of their emails to congressional pages all the way back to 1994, then let the results speak for themselves.

The Democrat and liberal panic has resulted in several phony issues including their cause celeb the Valerie Plame affair. It now appears that $34 million of public money spent during that investigation was a complete waste. It is now known for certain that Joe Wilson and his supporters were duping the public. They all knew that Richard Armitage was the leak. The prosecutor, Patrick Kennedy, should be indicted for malfeasance and if convicted sent to prison.

Reid and Pelosi have declined to testify during the Mark Foley investigation; why? These people are purely opportunists who care little or nothing about the people they are supposedly serving. Even this little blog has been attacked by virus laden comments.

Anyone who votes for the Democrats at this stage of their development deserves what they get, but why ruin a good thing for the rest of us?
